1st Date in Laramie, Wyoming? Question: I want to go on a 1st date with this girl. We have talked a lot and have gone on mini dates such as movies in each other's rooms and eating out together. I thought we could go on a picnic for our official 1st date but the wind is blowing at 40 mph and it is about 35 degrees F. She isn't a girly girl. Neither of us has a car so dinner or a movie would have to be close. It is her first date ever so I wanted to make it something special. Are there any creative date ideas that could happen in a dorm or somewhere on campus? Thanks. Answer: Wyoming. Yucky. |

What is a good vehicle for a college student? Question: I am going to college this fall and currently have a Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep is awful on gas and hates commuting. I live in Cheyenne Wyoming and will be going to the University of Wyoming in Laramie Wyoming. So I need a car that is good with commuting i.e., good on gas and can handle the harsh weather of wyoming. My price range if 0 to 9000 ish .... any suggestions? Answer: Go for an AWD Subaru? Legacy if you just want a regular sedan, Impreza if you want better looks, WRX if you want some speed, or a Forester if you want an SUV. They all have All-Wheel-Drive which should be good for the weather. Have a set of winter tires and summer tires for better traction in the winter and better fuel economy in the summer. |

After i graduate in 2011 I am thinking of becoming a welder. Which school would be good for me? Question: Next year in 2011, I am graduating from high school and i want to go into welding. I have thought of going to WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming and go into Custom Fabrication. But they only deal with cars. My dad says i should become a pipe fitter instead since he says they make more money than normal welders do. I really like welding, but i am not sure where to go. Dunwoody? WyoTech? Any good suggestions please. Answer: Look for accredited welding schools. You can also look for an accredited community college so that it would not cost as much. |

is there any way i can cutomize my license plate? Question: i'm getting a new car and i want the license plate to be ballr22 but laramie wyoming only allows 4 digits or letters on the license plate, is there any way i can customize it for i to fit BALLR22 with lakers on top? Answer: Other provinces and states have different acceptable lengths. 4 is strangely short, but, that is the law in Wyoming, and you even have to explain what the plate means. Sorry, but the law isn't going to be changed for you. |

How long would it take to get to each of the landmarks on the Oregon Trail by wagon? Question: I'm doing a project for social studies where we write a historical fiction. We have prompts about each landmark we go by, and the things that happened there. We write them in journals. I need to have a date for each entry, but I have no idea how I'm going to get the correct dates. How long would it take to get from landmark to landmark? Here are the ones I need... Independence, Missouri - Blue River - Kansas River - Fort Kearney, Nebraska - Ash Hollow, Nebraska - Courthouse Rock - Chimney Rock - Scott's Bluff, Nebraska - Fort Laramie, Wyoming - Independence Rock, Wyoming - Sweetwater River - South Pass - Steamboat Springs, Colorado - Soda Springs - Fort Hall, Idaho - Fort Boise, Idaho - Valley of the Grande River - Colombia River. I just need to know how long it would take them to get from each one to the next one. I put them in order already, I just need to figure out how long... And I mean by wagon, like they did when they used to cross the Oregon Trail. Not by car. Help? Answer: Horse drawn wagon 3-4 miles an hour.8- 10 hours a day, minus rest stops.Find the distance between each place on google maps and do the math yourself. |

Extension on tags help please? Question: My husband and I bought a new car and the tags are due on Nov 15. We are no longer going to have enough money to pay for it on Tues. Does anyone know if I can get an extension on them? Even just until Fri? I live in Laramie county in Wyoming. Answer: You can get an extension, but it does cost. Call the courthouse and ask them what your options are. It's totally ridiculous how much it costs! |

Is Wyo Tech really that bad!? Question: I've been reading into going to Wyo tech (Laramie campus) and the more I read the more stories I find of people saying they felt like they wasted there money, and stories of the local population and University of Wyoming students messing with car's and the students of Wyo Tech... I'm just curious if it's as bad as so many have made it out to be. Answer: The people I know say they felt cheated & it was not all it was hyped up to be for the money. You could do better at a JC & working in a auto shop for the experience. |
