Answer:

where can I get my baby car seat inspected in waukesha county, wisconsin?

Answer:
Go here: http://www.seatcheck.net/ to find a qualified tech (CPST, child passenger safety technician) in your area. Do NOT just go to a fire station or police station or maternity ward. Yes, most maternity wards do have a nurse trained as a CPST, but almost all their experience is in infant seats, so if you have a convertible seat you may leave with a badly installed seat. Also, not every fire/police station has a CPST on staff, or there 24/7. Despite not really knowing about car seats, though, most firemen will still offer to help with sometimes dangerous results (one fireman offered to help and installed 1 convertible car seat with all 3 belts in the back seat at the same time!). So its important to make sure the person is a certified tech.

a train derailed here last night.?
Question:
i know this isn't a question or answer, but its an event that was quite interesting to me. There was a train derailment last night in Waukesha, Wisconsin. There were three engines (Wisconsin Southern Railroad) and fourty five cars. two of the three engines derailed, along with seven cars. the train did not hit anything, or anyone. it's listed as problems with the tracks. this specific track had just been relaid back in June / July this year. the last of the tracks that had been relaid was two weeks ago. there was a huge crack found along the new set of tracks in the cement. the derailment forced a few homes to be evacuated (there was a large rail that was bent, and was feared that it could fling off and crash into the nearby homes. the derailment really put drivers at a standstill, as the main roads in, and out of the city here, were closed off. Just wanted to share my day from last night.

Answer:
It certainly happens from time to time, doesn't it? Those who visit this category regularly know that it is my practice to work a safety discussion into an answer, whenever possible. This is an excellent opportunity. What do you think would have happened if this derailment occurred at a grade crossing, with an impatient and foolish motorist snugged up to the crossing gate protection? SPLUT! One more greasy spot on the roadway. Give trains the attention and respect that is due them. They don't come looking for you, but they also have no qualms about killing you. Always stop back a minimum of 50' (or more) if at all possible. Never mind the guy behind you telling you you're "number one" via an extended middle finger. It is no surprise that this occurred on a recently rebuilt or repaired road bed. It takes some time, with traffic passing over it, for the structure to "consolidate." In this application, consolidate is an engineering term meaning that all the components of the structure, ballast, cross-ties and rail, have "gelled" and at their strongest. This type of failure is even more prevalent when hot weather is added to the mix. I am not a big fan of concrete cross-ties. Yes, they last longer and are more durable, but they lack one important feature that wooden ties have. Often times, a wheel, or a pair of wheels or an entire truck can derail and travel for miles, with no more damage than cutting the wooden ties, sometimes giving the engineer or conductor time to realize the train is in trouble and get it stopped before it scatters all over the place and taking out EVERYTHING near it. Concrete ties, on the other hand, are brittle and when a wheel hits them they pretty much explode. It is a sad fact, that even through the efforts of "Operation Life Saver" and others who try to educate the public about the dangers involved with rail roads, grade crossing fatalities are on the rise. So, give 'em some room, and give yourself a chance.

will Paul Menard go to victorylane this year?
Question:
i say since coming over to Yates Racing, Paul's been doing pretty good. i definitely see him going to victory-lane this year. note: I met Paul at the new Menard's store that just opened here in Waukesha, Wisconsin a few weeks ago, March 31, 2009. He and Truck Series driver, Matt Crafton were there. i got their autographs. Paul autographed my 2007, Michigan 1957 Chevy paint scheme car. Matt Crafton autographed my Nascar Truck Series Milwaukee Mile tickets. i have a few pictures that i took from my visit there. what a blast that was.

Answer:
No. He finished 13th at Texas but that's his only good finish this year. You have to be bringing home top 10s and top 5s before you can talk about bringing home a win.

i need to find a job badly.?
Question:
I'm 19 years old i live in Waukesha county Wisconsin but finding a job is impossible. mostly because im not very employable. while i do have a car and i can drive. iv never had a job before in my life, and i have a criminal record (1 felony) i apply to lots of places online but i get rejected everywhere. does anybody have any tips to make me more employable and if you live in or near where i am would you be willing to hire a desperate guy who's looking for work?

Answer:
Forget online. It's a waste of time. Apply in person. Wear the clothes that you would like to be served in if you were a customer at the store. Be persistent. Your biggest issue is that you've been irresponsible in the past. You need to convince a prospective employer that those days are over. You just need a chance to show that you'll be a model employee. And when you get the chance, don't screw it up. No excuses, no showing up late, no complaining. Someone will give you a chance if you convince them they won't regret the decision.

How can I contact a free lawyer?
Question:
I live in Wisconsin, County of Waukesha. I posted a previous question about if the search of my car was legal, from responses, I've been told what the police did was not by the book and I could get the ticket void. All I want is to keep it off my license and make sure there is no suspension. I contacted lawyer the only problem was the cost of it. I am only 18 years old, I know it's hard to find a volunteer lawyer. Another problem is, even the lawyer said the city where I got my citation is a hard city and the prosecutor has been known to be a "jerk" and I don't know if the lawyer they will provide me will be good or if I should try and find one on my own. Any Suggestions? ok you guys, Im just asking a question. I am not aware of what to do. If all you're going to give is crap and b.s, there is no need to answer my question. Thanks djr92-I was never arrested and on my citation they have "underage alcohol possession" and I have a mandatory court date. Where it says "fine amount" they wrote mandatory court date

Answer:
Why on earth would you believe lawyers do not deserve to be paid for their knowledge, skills and time? You take what is assigned you (doubt any will, unless there are criminal charges), go it alone or cough up about 2 grand to hire an attorney.

Given an illegal transportation of alcohol ticket. Cop never asked permission to open trunk, merely said do it?
Question:
Basically what happened was this past friday night I picked up my cousin. She is 27 and is obviously of legal drinking age and able to purchase alcohol. She did not drive because her license is suspended. I took her to the liquor store because she wanted to buy some stuff. I am 19 and I did not go into the liquor store with her. About literally 30 seconds after I pull out of the liquor store I get pulled over by a cop. The cop never gave me a second to answer before he told me I was illegally transporting alcohol. I did not know that there was such a law that prohibits me from transporting alcohol. I realize that I am not 21, but the alcohol was not open and it was secured in my trunk. I didnt consume any of the alcohol and technically didn't "possess" it, since my cousin purchased it. She could not drive because her license is suspended, so thats why it was in my car. My cousin was in the back seat of the car and put the alcohol in the trunk, I never touched it. In the end, I face $172 ticket for transporting alcohol. Its not even really a possesion ticket. My questions are. How likely is it that I will be able to have this ticket completely taken away? I have yet to find a law that says I can't transport unopened intoxicants in my trunk. The officer never once asked my permission to open the trunk, he simply said "lets get it open so I can confiscate it," He asked my cousin her story and he asked me mine and they were exactly the same because we had nothing to hide. The alcohol was purchased by someone who was of legal drinking age and wasn't open. The officer failed to inform me of my rights on this matter and was simply looking for an easy way to nail me for a ticket for something I didn't do wrong. One could say it was stupid for me to have it in my trunk because Im not 21 but there still is no law that says I can't transport it for a relative. I even read that in some states if a relative is with you it is ok to transport alcohol if you are under 21. But I live in Wisconsin and in waukesha county so I dont know how much of a difference that is. Any help would be appreciated. I dont know if I have to contact a lawyer or not or if my story alone will be enough to wipe the ticket clean. Thanks Thank you all for quick answers Nobody else knew I was going with her so the ratting out part is highly unlikely. One other funny piece id like to add that is irrevlevant. But the cop somehow missed this cheap bottle of rum my cousin got too. It was in plain sight in the trunk and he didnt even touch it. Im fighting it for sure. I really hope he enjoyed that beer....

Answer:
Laws very widely, in my state what you did is not illegal but obviously in your's it is. I can tell you the justification the Cop had to tell you to open your trunk, if he saw the contraband place into your car he had probable cause and the Vehicle Exception to the Fourth Amendment applies; Vehicle Exception; Vehicles may be searched without a warrant because of a reduced expectation of privacy. Vehicles found in a public place maybe searched without a warrant, consent, or arrest, where officers have probable cause to believe the vehicle contains contraband or evidence and it is impractical to obtain a search warrant. The Supreme Court recognizes three distinct doctrines permitting the police to search automobiles without warrants. First- since Carroll v. United States (1925), a warrant has not been required so long as there is probable cause to believe that the vehicle contains contraband or evidence of a crime. This “automobile exception” has been greatly expanded since Carroll. For example, the Court held in California v. Carney (1985) that a mobile home capable of traveling on a highway was included within the exception, and in Wyoming v. Houghton (1999), the Court held that the police may use the exception to search the personal belongings of passengers (but not the passengers themselves). Funny the amount of people who have no clue of the law who post their wrong opinions on yahoo, giving people bad advice.
