How do I get back to my car after kayaking down a river? :-D?
Question:
My boyfriend and I are beginner kayakers and want to start kayaking some rivers. Since we'd be travelling down stream, do we NEED two cars to pull this off? Is there any other way? Something clever that I haven't thought of? Thanks.

Answer:
You can do this with a kayak too I guess if your mountain bike or whatever bike is light enough. But several times when we did trips like this alone in canoe we st raped our bikes on and one time we hid one bike at our take out spot. With cell pnones its not too difficult to have some one to meet you at takeout point. On one river trip every year we arranged with a taxi company and an hour before we'd call and we usually met and no time lost other than getting back to our vehicles.--EDIT--And dont forget there is rollerblades by ROLLERBLADE that can handle rough surfaces and they are easy to carry in kayak or canoe ,all U need then is plenty of energy after a river or flatwater trip lol.

How to make local canoeing work?
Question:
I'd like to do some canoeing on the local rivers in Milwaukee. I've don't some research and know where to rent the canoe and which routes to take, but I just don't get to logistics of what to do when you get to the end of the route. Do you really need two people and two cars? What if I one have one car or no car? Just looking for tips and tricks on how to make this work!

Answer:
There are a few options. One is to find people to go with so you have a second car to do a shuttle. Try to find local canoe clubs in your area. The rental outfitters might know of groups. Besides having help with the shuttle, it's safer than going alone. If some of the rivers don't have significant current, you could do a round trip, paddling back upstream. Then you don't have to worry about a shuttle at all. Also check with the outfitters to see if they offer a shuttle service. I know of some canoe rental outfits in my area that offer it as part of the rental.

Simple math questions? (Two distance problems and one conversion problem)?
Question:
1. Two cars leave Miami for Jacksonville. Car A is traveling at 55 mph. Car B is traveling at a rate of 65 mph. The distance between Miami and Jacksonville is 350 miles. Approximately how much sooner does Car B reach Jacksonville? 2. Quentin is kayaking up and down they Myakka River, south of Myakka River State Park. When he travels with the current, it takes 2 hours to cover a certain distance. When he travels against the current, this distance takes 4 hours. If the speed of the current is 5 mph, what is Quentin's speed in still water in mph? 3. The faucet in your bathtub has a leak. You determine that the water is flowing at a rate of 4 fluid ounces per minute. How many gallons per day is this?

Answer:
1st problem: = 350/55 - 350/65 = 70/11 - 70/13 = (910 - 770)/143 = 140/143 Answer: 140/143 hr OR 58 min & 44 68/143 sec 2nd problem: Speed of Quentin (x): 2(x + 5) = 4(x - 5) x + 5 = 2(x - 5) x + 5 = 2x - 10 x = 15 Answer: 15 mph is Quentin's speed. 3rd problem: = (4 * 60 * 24)/128 = 5,760/128 or 45 Answer: 45 gallons per day

Why did the mother push her two kids into the lake?
Question:
Hey, So I was watching Oprah, and there was this story about a lady who had her sons in a car, and pushed them in a river. What led her into doing this?

Answer:
There was a lady here in South Carolina a while back that pushed her two children that were in a car into a lake, her name was Susan Smith. It was so sad and I will never forget that because my mom took us to the lake to take flowers in memory of the boys. I am a mother and I just don't understand how a mother could take the life of their child or children. There is nothing my children could do to even make me feel like I would want to hurt them. Women like that don't deserve to live.
