How to find a honest/good auto broker in Wisconsin?
Question:
I'm looking to buy a used car and like to find an honest/good auto broker in Appleton, Wisconsin area to help me. Any recommendation to whom?

Answer:
Read the customer reviews on dealerrater.com ( i don't work for them) which can help you choose a good dealership. Do a Bing or Google search. Yahoo does not want us to promote specific companies or brokers on Yahoo Answers. Most of the sellers on Craigslist are honest. Just check the car out for $100 at any local dealership or mechanic shop.

What's a good Wisconsin starter car?
Question:
Looking for a good starter car fir fairly cheep. I found this http://appleton.craigslist.org/cto/2517232056.html and was just wondering how it would handle in the snow. Any other suggestions for something I could find for under 3,000 that'd be great. Thank you, Eli

Answer:
Looks like its been lowered. Not a good thing. First car means you have little to no winter driving experience. This isn't a good car to learn on, IMO. Cadillacs are not cheap cars to fix, so buying one with problems is a stupid idea. Keep looking for other FWD cars in your area or a cheap Subaru. Be prepared to spend $400-$500 on a good set of winter tires.

Prizm ready for cold weather?
Question:
My sister recently got a job in Appleton, Wisconsin and Im somewhat concerned about her car. It is a 1996 Prizm, with 130,000 miles on it. Currently the car was in Columbus, Oh its entire 13 years of life, and had oil changes done every 3,000 miles or less. We changed the starter changed at about 110,000 miles, and the timing belt changed at 129,000. Im just worried that the cold Wisconsin weather might play dirty with the car. How much longer do you think this car can withstand before she has to replace it? I mean so far it been great, super reliable, it even started after a few tries when the starter broke. Any comments, or recommendations will be much appreciated!

Answer:
Hi, I think my first priority would be to check the strength of the antifreeze in the coolant, and make sure it had at least a 50/50 mix, or whatever the manufacturer suggests. Also, have a good look at the tires, make sure they have plenty of tread depth left, and check the spare as well (often gets forgotten until it's needed!) It might be a good idea to treat the car to an engine oil and filter change, unless this has been done recently. Hope this helps, please tell your sister Good Luck with the new job!

People familiar with Wisconsin bus travel?
Question:
I currently live in the Fox Cities area of WI (Appleton or Green Bay) but I travel alot to Milwaukee for chemotherapy treatment. Afterward, Im usually pretty tired, and it would be nice to be able to sleep or maybe get some work done on the 2 hour trips, so I was wondering if anyone familiar with bus or other transportation travel could give me an idea on cost, availability, and conditions? I need to be able to go from either Appleton or Green Bay to as close as possible to Froedtert Lutheran Hospital (I obviously wouldn't have a car to get here from a bus station) at different times depending on my schedule. Any suggestions or thoughts would be great! This counts for health because I have cancer btw ;)

Answer:
I would have thought that after your Chemotherapy sessions the last thing you would want is Bus travel as you won't exactly be feeling on top of the world at the time. My boyfriend has cancer and I take him to hospital every time for his Chemo, I wait with him then drive us both back home. Buses can very often be crowded, noisy and very rarely are they very comfortable or clean inside. I hope your Chemo will soon be over and that you are on the road to a full recovery. Cancer sucks! Good luck and my very best wishes to you.
