Questions Related to redmond, washington cars

Provided By Y! Answers

Where can I find newspaper articles for the date of June 19, 1995 for the place Redmond, Washington?
Question:
I was in a car accident and I would like to look at the article but I can't find it any where! I've already looked on google, too. I can't drive because I dont have my licence and I don't live in Redmond anymore. Are there any online sites that I could find some articles?

Answer:
How about using the microfiche of your local library (assuming you're living in Redmond still)? I understand old newspaper articles are kept on microfiche by some libraries.

Im moving to Redmond, Washington next july. Please help.?
Question:
So basically im going to be attending college there and i need some advice or just basic information on what to expect when moving there on my own. Im going to be getting loans form the government to pay for school and rent, so what would i have to pay for? What type of bills can i expect? Anything new in life that i should prepare for? How much money should i have saved up by july when i move there? What new responsibilities am i going to be having since im turning 18 this september and how does it affect me living there. Im not going to buy a car until i graduate college anyway so car bills are off the chart. But basically what am i going to have to learn before moving there?

Answer:
Well most apartments/condos you have to pay for W/S/E Utilities. And you have to pass a credit check, job reference, and rental history. You will need a job to get an apartment here, and a clean criminal record. There's alot of junkies and crazy people in WA, so they assume you're either one or the other, and put you through a ring of fire to get an job, or apt. So if I were you, I'd call around to apts and ask what to expect for a deposit, Tell them your situation, that you're a student and get their opinion. if you dont have credit or not so good gredit, you'll need first and last months, if you're credit is good/fair, there's only a security deposit $250( it varies depending on apt) and an application fee $38 And most places pro-rate charges...meaning if you move in before the 1st of the month, you'll be charge for the days you live up until the 1st, then it starts over again, some apts dont charge and some you can ask to waive (not often) but most places dont tell you about the pro-ration charges so ASK first. And look for apt with move in specials (like $99 move in) But Redmond is a "rich" town so you will be paying alot of money, And theres no lakes to swim there, or a water front :( Now Redmond itself, is a sleepy town, on the Eastside they call it DEADmond, Theres a skate park, that all the young kids go play in sand boxes, or whatever they do. It's more retirement and family oriented, and it's old fashioned, Ive heard people say it's not very social there. It's like a frontier mentality, not alot of crime, so its a safer place. The downtown area is as diverse as WA gets, which is primarily Hispanic, Indian, White and some Asian. there's alot there in terms of places to go, resturants, movie theatre, shopping, you won't need to go anywhere else, it's all central (if you move to the downtown area or near it ) Theres also a Target store there (I love me some Target) And a Park called Marymoore, Theres alot of activites there like RC airplanes, various sports and Musical Perfromances (concerts) Overall its ok, But I would not live there unless I was ready to retire, or could deal with living in Mayberry. Good Luck kid, Let us know.

Does a filled 2-seater car qualify to drive in a 3-person HOV lane in Washington State (Seattle)?
Question:
I have a Mazda Miata - and on the way to the 520 bridge from Redmond to Seattle, there is a 3-person HOV. Since I can only fit two people in my car, would it be legal for me to drive in the HOV lane without any fines?

Answer:
I live in Seattle, I wouldn't risk it. Those fines get steeper and steeper.

I got a ticket for negligent driving in the second degree. Can someone answer a couple of questions for me?
Question:
Okay first off, I am not looking for a response telling me to "slow down" or "balls up" and pay the fine. I'm looking for advice, not a safety lecture. I have gotten three tickets before this one. All three of them were dismissed in court, so I have a clean record. I was driving with five friends in my car at 11:45pm. I was going EXACTLY the speed limit, not a mile an hour over it. One of my friends was reaching down to get something on the ground, so I thought it would be funny to jerk the car around, to make it difficult for him to pick up his phone. Before I performed this action, I made sure there were NO oncoming vehicles, and NO cars in front of me or behind me. I also checked the sidewalks to make sure there were no pedestrians around. After I safely checked my surroundings, I started swerving erratically in my own line. Not once did I cross the lines into another lane. I remained in my lane for the five-ten seconds I was swerving. A few seconds after I stopped swerving I saw police car lights flashing in my mirrors. I pulled over and the police officer came up to the car. Of course she asked me if I had been drinking. I had not had any alcohol to drink, and none of my friends in the car did either. We also did not have any alcohol with us in the vehicle. She asked for the usual information and went back to her car. Twenty minutes later she came back to my car and handed me a $550 ticket for negligent driving in the second degree (RCW 46.61.525). I was shocked. For one, I had a clean driving record, and I wasn't speeding or endangering the lives of others. She asked me if I understood why she gave me a ticket...and I told her no. I tried explaining to her that I was safe about it. I also brought up how 95% of drivers will drift over the yellow line on a road, or a white line that seperates the road and the bike/walking shoulder. I told her that I NEVER do this because I think it is reckless and downright dangerous. Mainly because they are not aware that they are drifting over the lines. Can you say an accident waiting to happen? Of course she wouldn't even aknowledge the arguement I was trying to bring to the issue. She stood firm and said it was unsafe. I've had my fair shair of communicating with cops while sitting in the drivers seat, (I've been pulled over 13 times, only 4 of them for speeding, and 5 of them I made the cop look like an idiot because their reasoning for pulling me over was completely flawed). I got a lawyer for the three tickets that were dismissed, so I know the routine. My question is, should I get a lawyer for this ticket? And do I have a fair shot at beating this ticket? Unfortunately the city I got the ticket in, (Redmond, Washington) trains their police officers to write flawless tickets without a single mistake. No other city in my area does that. In addition, Redmond is not doing to well with all the recent budget cuts that have taken place. So their police officers will write tickets for the smallest mistakes that drivers make. This is not just my dumb opinion, I have actually spoken to police officers from Redmond, and from other surrounding cities including, Sammamish, Issaquah, and Bellevue. I hope to hear some good advice on this issue. Thank you in advance for your replies! -Brandon

Answer:
I'm not sure if the charge you got is correct to call it negligent. What you were doing was more controlled swerving. I understand the cops point of view for issuing you a citation but I believe that the charge was a bit stiff. Vary course of travel, fail to maintain control of vehicle, fail to operate vehicle in a safe manner, negligent means you weren't in control, meaning other contributing factors, usually saved for alcohol related incidents. The other catch is you admitted to your actions, telling the officer what you were doing. Although that is usually the correct approach, it burned you this time. I recommend making a court date to see if you can get your charge reduced. Depending on your speed you were traveling when you decided that this maneuver was funny, you may get the judge to work with you. If you were going 25 mph, then you may get lucky, if you were traveling much faster, then I doubt it. One thing you may want to try, when you go to court and you see the officer there that wrote the ticket, ask her if she would agree to a lesser charge, let her bring it up to the judge. As long as you were polite and didn't piss her off, it should work. As far as the Lawyer, that's a personal thing, generally your paying a Lawyer to do exactly what your trying to do..lessen the fine or charge. If you think with your experience you can pull it off, go for it. If you have the money to afford an attorney, get one. Usually the attorney talks with the prosecutor before the exam and sets up the deal. You could save the money and do that as well.

Answer:
Hello , When you send in the ticket indicate you would like to challenge the charges/officer , you will later be assigned a court date . Somewher on the ticket will indicate your options . Any other questions you may call the County Courthouse and ask the clerk . When you get to the courtroom ... ask the person sitting there taking attendance that you would like a public defender . You will be givin a public defender . You will discuss in private your case . The defender will argue for you with the District Attorney or the Assistant District Attorney and come back with an answer . Or you may be offered a plea bargain to reduce the charge and lesser fine . You may get the charges dropped but unlikely .

Do I need to register the car I drive in Washington when the title holder lives out of state?
Question:
Ok I'm a student who recently moved to Redmond WA to go to school. My issue is I can't seem to understand just what I have to do in regards to plates and driver license. For the insurance, the car I drive is owned by my mom in Ohio and covered under her insurance. It also has Ohio registration. But I've signed a lease in the state making me a resident, and it says I must get a new license within 30 days, as well as get new plates for my car and if I fail to do so I can expect to get a very large ticket. But how can I do this if I don't actually own the car I drive, and do I need to get new plates if the car is owned by a person out of state? Does this mean I have to get new insurance too?

Washington - Lake Chelan area?
Question:
In Summer 87 I was on holiday in Seattle. I am looking for a small village. The village was build in wood as and old western city with sherif office, jailhouse, bars with svingdoors etc. Whereever I look around it was totally as old time. Only the horses was changes to cars. The roads in the city was sand. I get into a bar to get something to drink, and the man behind the bar told me they also use this city to make western movies. I want to visit this town again with my family but cant find it. I remember I drive from Seattle, Redmond to Lake Chelan, driving in the mountains, along rivers and also passing and drive over a big dam. The town was placed in a kind of dessert. The climate from the mountains and to the dessert change in 2 hours very much from cold to hot. Do anyone know what small city I am talking about ?? Sorry my english is not so good.

Irgendwie horsebackriding. Ich mag es. I thought of holidays in the United States. Still ensure me I around passports and the certified requirements of the American senate. Papers read that that is not discharged law, until 2008 are retarded so there. It is an attractive range. Well for moving, boat travel, canoeing and fishing, I heard. Pass the Waterskiing on for me, thanks. I may try hoses and could parasailing, after we determine security concerned expenditures. Can you go for a hot-air balloon travel there? How over a trailer to a grill place of assembly take out? Somehow horsebackriding. I like it.

What do you think about my school Story?(not finished)?
Question:
For 8th grade competition at my school for technology in 2025. Why did we continue? Why did we continue to make robots, and computers that could outsmart the human brain tenfold? I guess, no one could have seen the uprising coming. My name is Michealangelo, I’am 15 years old, and I’am a survivor of the uprising. The uprising happened in 2021, when Microsoft release Microsoft Supremacy. Supremacy was marketed ,as the best Computer Operating System ,out there. It was really an evil plot to get thousands of mindless slaves, or “zombies” to do their work. Supremacy Computers sent radio waves into the human’s mind and, hypnotize them. The only reason I’am not hypnotized is ,I’am a homeless orphan, and never really have been near a computer. Also, if the zombies don’t sense that you have been in control ,they inject you and pretty much give you the hypnosis. Now that around 99.99 percent of all Human population are zombies, its hard to stay normal. I Stay in the last floor of a 33 floor building with 5 of my friends: Nabir 14 years old(brave, Loen 16 years old, Jesam 15 years old, and Mathos 13 years old. Those are the names we have given ourselves. We all live in a 4 bed room apartment. When we aren’t outside, life is good. We have a 54” inch Hologram T.V , Motion sensor video games , and walls that repaint themselves with the touch of a button. In the garage we have a black Modified 1971 mustang. By modified we mean with motion sensing .50cal turrets on every side, a roll cage and, 700 Horsepower engine. How do we power all of this? Loen is a really good engineer and have always liked working with machines and metals and have made a generator that creates energy by taking hydrogen molecules out of water for our apartment. Outside, life is hard. Just a year ago we lost Nabir’s girlfriend ,Sleyan in an attempt to blow up the a minor server of supremacy that would at least make the New Englands part of the United States free. Jesam was a “second degree black belt” in MMA and ,taught us, how to defend ourselves ,with anything we could get our hands on. But mostly ,we use guns. Lots and lots of them.I’am the Sharpshooter of the group, with a TPG-1 with a Heatseaking bullets. The rest of my team use G36Cs with Electrocuting bullets. How did we get all of these weapons? 2 years ago, we Stole weapons from a place in nevada nicknamed Area 51. We hate killing the zombies because they were once humans too, but its us or them. On July,17,2025 i woke up to the sounds of Mathos making a frying pan fall of the counter. He was making french toasts again.”Dang it, not again!”, he says.” Hey mathos, were is everyone?, I say. “Loen in in the garage working on the car, putting the new “unbreakable” tires, Nabir is on the roof ,picking up the vegetables from the garden and jesam is watching that old movie “Avatar”, he says. After that, we all ate breakfast and discussed our plans of traveling to Redmond, washington to the Microsoft Headquarters and get this over with. “wait, wait, wait! we are going from Houston, Texas to Redmond, Washington? Thats like 2500 miles! says Nabir. “Do you know any other way? its the main building we destroy that, no more being hunted down!”says Jasem. “We leave in 3 days”, I say. Thank you so much i will add more age to them and change microsoft to something similar. Also all the names are my best friends name scrambled

Answer:
It's very good. Two things though, firstly you shouldn't really use the name "Microsoft", I strongly suggest you change it to something similar, but recognisable. Something like Microseft will keep you out of the brown stuff (particularly if you re-post this). Secondly, the ages of the main characters is problematic. Two years ago they broke into Area 51, that means that Mathos was 11, what is a 13 year old doing with a girlfriend and exactly how good an engineer can you be at 16? You might consider ageing these people by four or five years. Apart from these small niggles it's really good. Good luck.

i'd like to be a videogame designer. where can i find a grant or loan to go to school?
Question:
iv always wanted to design videogames. i've got really great ideas that id like to share with gamers everywhere. i'd like to go to school and get a degree so i can start doing something with my life. my engine just recently quit on me so i need to either fix it or get a new car. i wanted to know if there are any grants or loans out there to help me get started so i can accomplish my dream. i currently work at nintendo in redmond washington but they have me working in the warehouse. thats not what i want my life to be. is there anything out there?

Answer:
Well you work in Nintendo so you're already "in" the industry, but all kidding aside, you need to research some schools in your area. Despite what people will tell you, most community colleges can't prepare you for any technical art field, especially game design. Just because they're more affordable doesn't mean they're the best way to go. Look at University of Phoenix and the trouble students are going though finding work. Art Institute is good, but it's pretty expensive -- not as expensive as Digipen or other big named colleges and universities. Westwood college, Fullsail are other schools that are known for teaching about game design, look into those. My experience at the Art Institute is mixed. I felt it was a good school, but didn't feel the "hands-on" approach all that much. Students were learning from the lectures, textbooks, and each other rather than the teacher. You get to use the latest equipment and software, and learn how to create mods in Unreal engine, and Neverwinter 1 engine. There are art classes involved both 2D and 3D, so be prepared for that. There are design classes too, which you create a Game Design Document, interface layouts, object placement, and storyboards to name a few. Be wary of some game design schools, as alot of them train you in the art aspect and rarely any design phases. Like Collins College manipulate students in thinking that Game Design is lax and easy, it isn't. Game Designers have alot of responsibility ranging from level design, art, programming, testing, even marketing, preparing the game design document, and talking to ALL game departments on how things will work and what needs to be taken out. Game Designers are usually the ones who have to convince the publisher why this game should be budgeted and how long of a cycle the game will take to complete on top of setting schedules, meetings, and other busy things to make sure the project stays on track meeting all the milestones in development of every game. Okay, once you find your school your financial aid officer should be responsible for helping you seek aid from the govenrment though Stafford Loans, Parent Plus loans and Pell Grants by signing out a FAFSA form each academic year. Chances are, you'll be taking out loans as Pell Grants can be pretty darn scarce. At least if you have a job, you can pay part of your tuition to minimize your overall debt after you graduate. Try to avoid taking out private loans unless it's absolutely necessary. Most expensive fancy schools I've read about students who had to resort to private loans because of the inflation costs of dorms and textbooks. Pell Grants are more obtainable if you are unemployed, disabled, have Dependants, and other life hinders. Some schools point out to Fastweb.com. I would say don't waste your time on these, because these links lead to scholarships that are contests for small cash prizes. There are some good ones out there, but it's like playing the lottery. I have yet to find any scholarships that pertain to technical or trade colleges, and usually its the school that holds them. And last but not least, don't believe people who say they can find you grant money. Chances are, they don't tell you the OBLIGATIONS that follow for getting grant money, and if you don't follow though these obligations you are in more trouble than taking a few marks on your credit report for defaulting on a loan. If you do your own research, you might be able to find ways to obtain grants. You should NOT pay others to help you find grants, because truth is they will find grant leads to outdated forms or unrelated grant offers that you won't qualify for, but not actual grant checks. I know it's a mouthful, but I hope this helps.

Have you seen the stimulus bill hard at work?

After a flurry of stimulus spending, questionable projects pile up By: Susan Ferrechio Chief Congressional Correspondent November 3, 2009 The $787 billion stimulus bill was passed in February and was promised as a job saver and economy booster. Real nice, eh?
