How much money will we need for our trip with my girlfriend to Olympia Washington?
Question:
We want to go visit this city in February. Our flight is from PHL(Philadelphia, PA) to SEA(Seattle, WA). The price for hotel flight and rental car(pickup at airport) is approximately 1400 through hotwire.com(cheaper than travelocity, expedia, orbitz) with nonstop flights. The reason we want to visit is that we plan on moving there in the near future we looked it up and seems like a Great place to live but seeing is believing. We will be visiting roughly feb 27- mar 4 2012(1 week just not sure about dates yet). Does anyone know of any events that take place or places to visit while we are there? Also, my girlfriend is a huge Twilight fan so we will be traveling 3 hrs to get to Forks and make it a day trip there. Does anyone know of any events or great places to see there or which 1 of our days we should do this? Ok, now on to the question we need to know how much money to bring with us. How expensive are the restaurants for lunch and supper because we get free breakfast at hotel. I figured roughly $75(25 for lunch, 50 for supper) a day for the food part is this accurate? Also we are fun seekers so we will probably buy stuff and just have fun. We are bad at saving money. I also would like to find a place with couples massaging with decent prices. We don't mind getting pampered lol. Ok so roughly how much would we need for our trip to Olympia Washington all together? Don't forget to add the gas, food, and just plain old fun. Thank you for your answers and let me know if I forgot anything. Also, all answers are accepted.

Answer:
I agree with what Miranda wrote above, but I wanted to make a few comments about Forks. Forks is a small town on the Olympic Peninsula whose main industry is logging. While there are some twilight-themed tours and such, most are cheap and not worth it because most of the Twilight movies were filmed in Oregon. Unless this is REALLY big on your girlfriend's list of things she wants to do, I would not recommend taking the drive (which would probably last more like 4-5 hours) just to see the small town whose biggest attraction is a small logging museum.

Living in Olympia, Washington.?
Question:
Whatts it like? It seems cheaper than Seattle. Are there other nearby cheap locations to live, even rural? I'd be willing to live 45 minutes away, maybe more. I'm looking at a possible teaching job there. But as you know teachers don't earn a ton. How is the cost of living? What do you pay for gas, water and electric on average? how is insurance for house and car? How is the economy there? Are there lots of jobs in other sectors? I've always thought Washington or Oregon might be a good place to live. I like the fact that the weather is not too hot and not too cold.

Answer:
Olympia is not as expensive as Tacoma or Seattle. Rural living is great there - lots of gardeners love it as is evidenced by the farmers' market each week. Utilities will depend on your house size so no way to predict that. Insurance is cheaper than in other urban areas. Washington's economy is doing better than many other areas of the country - at this point. Lately weather hasn't broken 70 degrees; a colder than normal June. You can experience big differences just by being further inland or living closer to the ocean. Shelton is a nice little lumber town; Chehalis and Centralia are south and an easy commute.

looking for a free junk car in washington state?
Question:
I am looking for a place that has junkyard loads of cars. I'm looking for late 80's or 90's. It could be in any condition from scratches and dents, to being rusty and not working, as long as the main body is still intact. Keep it west of the cascades please. I am frequently going back and forth from Seattle and Olympia, and sometimes even Kitsap.

Answer:
Good luck with that. Very few things in life are free.

Do I need snow tires/tire chains for Olympia WA?
Question:
I'll be moving the end of the month to the Lacey/Olympia area in Washington State. Does somebody know if I need to have snow tires or tire chains for my car? I know that it's snowing there this winter, but I don't know if I will need to buy special tires to move there. Thanks

Answer:
you should buy good snow tires! 4 of them! i highly reconmend michelin x-ice because of my parents and my experience with them. i swear they are AMAZING! you'll be much more safe, and you probably won't get stuck. now snow chains is going a bit far. you wouldn't need snow chains.

Getting a rebuilt/salvage title?
Question:
While Looking for a car to basically drive into the ground on my route, I found a cheap 96 Taurus at the local junkyard, that was too good to pass up. it was formerly wrecked but they repaired it all except a door panel or two which is perfect for beater route car. Anyway it's got to be "vin inspected" by state patrol for a new title. Just wondering what this is, and how the process works, whats basically the least I can get away with to get it out on the dusty trail By the way I live in Olympia Washington

Answer:
This page describes the Washington State Police inspection process for a salvage/rebuilt car under Option 2: http://www.dol.wa.gov/forms/420080.pdf Good luck!

Transportation Assistance - Olympia,WA?
Question:
Does anyone know of any programs (in Washington) that would help people that don't have a car but live too far from their place of work to use transit? Basically transportation assistance to get to their job and then back home again? I know I've heard of some places like this but I've only found a few that will only take those with disabilities. Any help would be greatly appreciated! (Please no sarcastic remarks (e.g. move, find a new job, etc.) as this is a serious inquiry. Thank you.)

What grade would you give me for this short essay?
Question:
"A True American Hero" Was Jesus very important in the Civil War? My teacher gave me a bad grade on this paper? During the Civil War many people influence the outcome because of being such great Heroes. Well only one of these people actually did something. This person was a man amongst men it is just a shame that he was killed. Jesus was probably the main factor why the Civil war was fought the way it was. Not only was Jesus super cool he was really smart. Jesus was born in 1923 about the time of the roaring 20’s or when you were born Btw did you go to school with him?). So anyways everyone knew Jesus was something great. When he turned three he mastered the pogo stick everyone knows how damn hard that thing is. Shortly after he was bore with it, so he brought a bike. One day he was out on this nice bike he just spent a lot of money on and some black guy stole it out from underneath him. He ran after him for a few hours screaming, “***** stole my bike!” no one did anything at all. This is when he knew it was time for a change. He quickly learned that black people don’t steal scooters. So he asked Marty Mcfly could bring him one from the past because those things died with president Clinton. He got his scooter an rode it from springfield New York all the way to Olympia, Washington, that’s like 5 billion miles that’s a lot even for an airplane. Once he got their he came up with a plan this plan seemed crazy it was called the non-violent protest. He sat around for days until someone just told him he could have the government. He decided that the black people needed to stop stealing bikes. Because of this the Civil War broke out. The Civil War was between China and Pakistan. The people fought for about fifty years. The war was finally ended in 2020. But only because china was like Jesus we are out of ammo, Jesus simply replied “What do I have to work with” he only had a banana, 15 seconds later he developed the atomic bomb, an rope it on Pakistan an killed a lot of people. The people thought Jesus was moding so they quit and joined a new server. Once the war was over Jesus was hit by a car, and with his last breath he said “warship me!” and died. As you can see without Jesus the world would be a terrible place. All over the world black people would be stealing your bike. So without him, we all would be helpless. -From Landober Baptist Church

Do you ever think about the homeless?
Question:
TalleyHo@citygatesministries.com............This woman kathy , and Pastor Phil Prietto, kept me from being comfortless, when i was Homeless. I cried when i went through the pictures from 2009, I am among them. the city of olympia washington has again displaced the homeless campers. Not even allowing them a tree to sleep under, This could happen to you. don't be fooled.I am unable to do more than just pray. but if you could support this ministry they preach as best they can, and provide real help. several times this ministry provided car repairs costs for me. at least 4 tents, food clothing and bibles, tarps, and socks, shoes, all from the back of 4 vans., please, it is so hard to keep replacing the tents that the police destroy. I am aware that only God almighty can fix this problem permanently, i pray for it with every breath i take, but if I could, I would do something more. can you help? when you visit the site, keep in mind that I was there and i know most of the homeless personally.and the photos of the places i used to sit and be fed and clothed by them. but This woman, she is Golden, and she is my Friend, she knows me, just ask her, she knows me. tonight it is below freezing. Where are my friends tonight. OUTSIDE with no tents. Tina Porter, not far from still being homeless myself. Yo YY4 me>>>>>> I guess you did not read the information very well, i am trying to help peole the only way i can. I did not say you had to help, the question is do you think about them, apparently your too busy being a wise_ A*** I pray that you will see, that compassion for others is more important than your Y/A account, report monkey! I tell you, donating to the watchtower really is something Good, they give real food that will not expire, but physical food is also important. Jesus followers after the sermon on the mount were mostly, there for the food, its true. BUT, I as Jehovah's witness also know my friends are not rich by any means, their donations would not help buy a tent anyway. JW's are poor usually, for a very good reason, They put God first, but I know they also donate other things as best as each one can. we don't blow our horns about it. Although I am not asking for donations for any church, this street ministry is seperate from that.

Answer:
I think of them all the time when I go to bed in my warm house and clean sheets. I thank God for taking care of me over the years and that I did not end up homeless under a bridge. We help the homeless when ever there is a chance to. Not many that I see in our area but Northern Calif. has a lot of them and I never walk by with out treating them the way I would want to be treated in their place. Hurts my heart with tears all the time, seeing in life, these struggling humans. Besides giving necessities ,I hand them a book of Hope about Jesus. Please come Soon Jesus and End this Suffering and take us HOME.!!!
