What are our options for traveling from the Convention Center, to Arlington N. Cemetery, then Mount Vernon?
Question:
My husband and I will be visitig DC in May. We do not intend to rent a car. Our Inn is near the Convention Center. I want to go from our Inn to Arlington National Cemetery on a Wednesday morning. Then travel from Arlington National Cemetery to Mount Vernon late morning or early afternoon. Which Metro lines do we use to get to Arlington? What is a good way to travel from Arlington to Mount Vernon?

Answer:
The only Metro line that goes to Arlington is the Blue Line. Catch the Yellow or Green line at the Mount Vernon station (a different Mount Vernon) to L'Enfant Plaza Station and transfer to the Blue Line in the direction of Franconia Springfield. There's a stop at Arlington Cemetery and a shuttle that will take you to the actual cemetery grounds. As for getting from Arlington to Mount Vernon, I don't recommend you go late in the day as Mount Vernon closes at 5 p.m. I understand there is a shuttle bus from the Huntington Station at the end of the Yellow Line. You would take the Blue Line from the Arlington Cemetery station (towards Franconia Springfield), and transfer at the next station, which is Pentagon, to the Yellow Line. You can actually transfer anywhere between Pentagon and King Street to the Yellow Line. It might be better to go to Mount Vernon in the morning--you can take the Yellow Line straight down--and then Arlington Cemetery in the afternoon, transfering to the Blue Line (in the direction of Largo) anywhere between King Street and Pentagon. Keep in mind that after sunset, the trains don't stop at Arlington and just express through between Pentagon and Rosslyn. But I really suggest you do this on two different days, if possible, just so you can see everything you want to.

What is the best way to get to Mount Vernon from DC (capital area)? 9 people with no car.?
Question:
Are there any tourist buses that will take us there and deliverus back?

Answer:
There are three ways. 1. Sign up for a tour bus - There are a number, I'll include two here and you can check them out. Generally cost $40 to $60, depending on the line and what is included. This gets you there and back and I believe covers your admission to Mt. Vernon. 2. Take Metro - this is really easy, and will cost under $5 each way per person. Less if you have an all day pass anyway. You take the Yellow Line all the way to the Huntington Station (best way to pick it up from the Mall Area is at L'Enfant Plaza). At Huntington Avenue go to the South side of the station and take the Fairfax Conector Bus #101 toward Ft. Hunt. The bus will drop you directly in front of Mt. Vernon, and you can just go in to do the tour of the Mansion and Museum. This is the ONLY option where you can decide how much time you want to spend at Mt Vernon. 3. The most expensive, and possibly most fun, way to do Mt. Vernon is to take the Spirit of Washington Tour. It costs about the same as the bus ($44 per person) and lets you cruise down the Potomac to get there. Washington is a city where the rivers are very important, so getting out on them is a great way to see the city. Hope this helps.

bus route to mount vernon?
Question:
my gf lives in mount vernon, wa and i live in marysville, wa and my parents only have 1 car and it isnt home very often so im looking for the bus route number to mount vernon from marysville. thank you

Answer:
There are a couple of ways you can make the trip. From Marysville you can take a Community transit bus #200, 202 or 207 to the Smoky Point transit center then take bus #240 to Stanwood. From there Island Transit route #411c will take you to Mt. Vernon. Another way to make the trip would be to take a Community transit bus # 200 or 202 to the Everett station then take Skagit transit route # 90x express to Mt. Vernon. Good Luck!

what are the direct objects in the sentences?
Question:
Sentences are: 1.My mother drove the car to Washington. 2.We saw the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. 3.May I have that map? 4.It will show us the correct route. 5.She will drive the car to Mount Vernon.

Answer:
The "test" for finding a direct object is to ask, what is the verb being done "to"? What did your mother drive? She drove the car. What did you see? You saw the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. Etc., etc. When finding direct objects, just like when finding subjects, adjectives, articles, and conjunctions are not part of the direct object. Therefore, only name the noun (common or proper) when writing your answer in.

Can u tell me the direct object in?

how can I get my lost car key replacement?
Question:
I lost my car key today, it's a regular key with a separate remote control, I called locksmith, they are asking for $280, Is there someone else cheaper. My car is in mount vernon new york, it's nissan sentra 2008 the problem is that th dealership is closed till monday

Answer:
If it were me, I would get a replacement key. Then post your missing key & remote around with an alternate telephone number, not your own, ( theft reasons ). Check with local shops where you may have left it, look everywhere. If all that fails, get the new keyfob..... It should show up. Take some precautionary measures into mind just in case someone found your keyfob and may know your car. Again, just in case. Check with a local locksmith and your dealer for the replacement key. Good Luck to You.

Does this sound like an accidental death or homicide?
Question:
This incident happened in 2003. It had been in my mind ever since. Champagne had left the residence to retrieve something from her car, which police say had somehow been left in gear. According to the police report, the car rolled forward and pinned the woman between it and a small building next to the driveway. The car crossed Edgehill Drive, a small street in front of the compound. The vehicle then crossed a busy two-lane street, Fort Hunt Road, finally coming to rest in a wooded area across the street that adjoins the prestigious Belle Haven Country Club. No explanations have been offered as to why the vehicle did not move until Champagne was in a position to be crushed. Champagne was pronounced dead on arrival at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital. The car, which was left in gear, began to roll forward. Champagne was pinned between the car and a small building next to the driveway. The car continued to roll down the driveway, crossed Fort Hunt Road, and came to rest in a wooded area. Champagne was taken to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Champagne's death was merely a quirky accident and no foul play was involved. This is not a made up story. The Victim is Bertha Champagne. You could look her up if you want.

Answer:
Unless there is real evidence of tampering with the vehicle (if an auto transmission you can tell by stripped "park" pin when forced without a key into neutral), tool marks where someone use something to break into the car, etc.,or good circumstantial evidence such as threats to her life, a recent argument with a, in this case, non violent acting spouse or family member ( a violent one would hit themselves and then hide the body), then you got bubkiss. It would be judged an accident by the medical examiner/coroner who takes all information available into account before making a judgement on manner of death.

Boston Local help me to choose the right T line?
Question:
I need to go to Mount Vernon street in Boston 02108 zip code. I have a car but I am not sure if there is any parking lot around where I can park my car after 6 p.m Do you know any parking lot close to Mt Vernon Street? Do you which Line is the closest to Mt Vernon Street? Tnkx

Answer:
Mt. Vernon is on Beacon Hill. One end is close to Park Street Station on the Red and Green Line, the other is about half way between Charles on the Red Line and Arlington on the Green Line. All those stops are pretty close to each other. It's a very safe part of town as long as you aren't wearing really high heels (cobblestones and uneven sidewalks.) Parking I'm not that good on. There's a parking garage under the Boston Common. There's one on Charles street, I think. If you try for on-street parking, watch out for resident-only signs.
