What is the most likely sentence for Reckless Driving for speed in Virginia?
Question:
I got a speeding ticket for 31 over or 86 /55 and im 18 years old. It was late one night when their wasn't a single other car on the road in Suffolk, Virginia. I have a clean driving record and an attorney. I just wanted to know what the court usually sentences people to for this kind of offense? I know jail time is not very likely but if I did have to do time what jail would i go to? Also my friend got something where the chargers were dropped as long as he didnt get a ticket within the next year, whats the legal term for this? And i also drive a v8 camaro z28, dont know if this will cause the judge to be more harsh. Erictron 2008, I didnt realize i was going that fast and i was the only car on the road at 1 in the morning. Also I did not want to add felony evading onto a reckless driving ticket. my friend ran on a gsxr 750 that was heavily modded and radios were still faster. some cops even have technology you dont know about like being able to scan and identify hundreds of licenses plates per second through special cameras. and thanks for the response kimmy

Answer:
Actually, the likelihood of jail is still there. Being that this is your first offense, the possibility of jail time is not as high as it would be had this been your 2nd or 3rd offense. If you do go to jail, it would likely be the local lock-up and you could probably do weekends. Advisement is the word your looking for. The judge can take this under advisement for one year and, if you do not get another speeding ticket in that time, he will drop it. You have a good chance of getting this, but it depends on the judge. I doubt your car will have an influence, but you never can tell. I will add my own experience for your sake: I, too, am from VA. I was pulled over for 91 in a 55 zone. (Ouch, I know). I have a sister car to yours, a 2001 V6 Firebird, black of all colors. I was pulled over my the state fuzz as well. He arrests me, gets me to the magistrate's office and I am let go with a summons for court (mad over that, what a waste of my time). I was looking at jail time, but I have an anxiety disorder which I am on medication for. The judge took this into consideration and reduced it to 10-14 with a 200 dollar fine. I am not saying to use a fake physical condition as your cop-out cause you will get figured out. It just so happened I had an anxiety attack right in front of the judge. Good for you for getting a lawyer. I did the same thing. Let him talk for you. You do need to tell him that you would like to try the advisement thing with the judge. After this all over with, remember to put your car on cruise when your by yourself. Cops drool when they see sports cars dont ya know!

What are bills that are necessary to pay when living on your own in Virginia?
Question:
I don't live on my own yet and Im planning on moving out next year. Of course, I want to know what I'm getting myself into before i actually get into it. I would like to know on average what type of living expenses and bills will need to be paid. Example: Apartment Rent ($500 maybe?), Utilities (what and what's not included?), Average groceries for one person, Car Insurance, Gas a week (automobile), cable, ETC. (add anything i left out please) I live in Virginia and i have seven cities to choose form...Hampton, Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, New Port News, Chesapeake, and Portsmouth.

Answer:
You may need to pay for (some of these may be included, some may not, depending on the owner and what he/she pays for) rent, electric, gas, water, food, cleaning supplies, toiletries, furniture, dishes and cups, pots and pans, transportation (if your own car, gas, maintenance, insurance, tickets you may get), medical, dental, vision, clothing, washer/dryer, TV, cable/satellite, phone, computer, Internet access, emergency fund, and the list goes on and on. Once you have the one-time purchase items (furniture, dishes, pots/pans, etc.) a rough estimate is double the rent you pay for the month, and that's how much you need to get by. This doesn't include entertainment or an emergency fund, though, and does not include any credit cards or loans you may have to pay. It's not easy, and is why many young people have roommates to help with the cost of many of these items when they first move out of their parent's home.

answer only if stay in virginia, what do you think virginia is missing?
Question:
and if you stay in suffolk va ,what do you think is needed out here it so boring? it could be anything. from fashion to car lots to kids clothing store you get the picture hit me back please.

Answer:
My husband stayed in Eustis for a while, Virginia just seems like an over all boring place to live. Whats needed is simply more people. More people will generate more interest in stores and so on. Right now the only ways to get more people out there is 1. there needs to be be jobs (but there aren't any because there's nothing there). But if you are looking to open a place up yourself. Id try some kind of arcade/poolroom type place. That's kid friendly in the day and adult friendly at night.

Do cops see a person's profession/career through a license plate check?
Question:
My father was a federal agent and now he works with the Suffolk PD, I use his old beat up Toyota Tercel for college since its great on gas. Ever since I have been using it I realized that the cops want to pull me over but never do. I must admit the car does look suspicious since its OLD as hell and here in VA they are really strict on tags and inspection. So what cops do is roll up behind you, make sure your stickers aren't expired and then keep it moving. They do it alot to me when I use my mom car (her car is registered in her name). But I swear whenever I am in my dads car they come up behind me, quickly overtake me, blow their horn and then drive away. This happened like 20 times no matter where I was and the car doesnt even have FOP plates, and its not like the cops know it since he never really used that Toyota to go to work So does the license plate tell the officer who the car belongs to? Like does the Cruiser computer say something along the lines of "registered to LEO of Virginia"? Why else would they always blow their horn at me as if I am their buddy? I asked my old man already but he doesnt like talking about what info they see and software they use on their system; so thats why I came here. It may be a dumb question but these days I see like 5 cameras and 3 computers in a cop car so I know they got some cool technology in there. (unless its just for show..lol) thanks no it doesnt have the blue stripe, just has a sticker of a badge on the back glass. Do you think that causes them to leave the car alone? And if that the case they why doesnt everyone just by that sticker and put it on their back glass? You can get that sticker anywhere, i think the precinct sells them online

Answer:
Your career is not disclosed in a standard license plate check.
