Where is the BEST place to Inspect a Car?
Question:
I mean TOTAL Inspection (NOT just State Inspection) check everything out - Engines, Transmission, Brakes, Exhause, whatever Important... Unfortunately, I don't have any friends who are that good with cars Nor do I know a Trusted Mechanics. I usually just take them to Midas, Firestone, Pepboys, stores like that and have NO loyality with any one of them whatsoever! I also hesitate to take it to the dealer, cuz they are EXPENSIVE! Because I need to buy a Used car to make sure it's in Great condition. It's NOT a cheap one, it's about $7000 What places/shops/mechanics that does Complete Inspection the BEST, reliable in your experience? If you must know, I am trying to buy this car at Mechanicsville Turnpike in Mechanicsville, Virginia (Close to Richmond) Please Reply fast cuz it's sort of urgent I Thank you!!! Oh Ok, so out of all the National chain stores, Pepboys is the Best? Is this Reliable? http://carinspectors.com/

Answer:
if you take it to a dealer that sells that brand of vehicle, and they are honest, it will only cost you a little money anyway. however, if they are dishonest, they will charge alot and try to get you to purchase theirs. it is probably easier to take it to the stores that you are familiar with. if a facility is AAA approved, that is even better, as they have tof inspect the vehicle for you for free providing you are a AAA member.

B/F got pulled over, is this right?
Question:
So my boyfriend got pulled over today for a long crack in his windshield that we have been meaning to get replaced but we haven't gotten around to it. Fail on us, that is our fault. Anyway, we live in Virginia and my boyfriends's car is registered in Florida. The car is registered in his father's name, and his dad also pays the insurance on it and lives in Florida. My boyfriend use to live in Florida before he moved here by himself last summer. Anyway, so I know when you live in a different state that you have to get your license registered in the same state that you are currently living in within 30 days BUT does it also still apply if technically the car also belongs to his father? They gave him 3 tickets and he has to go to court. One for no valid license (my bf has a Florida license), fail to obtain registration (again, car is registered in Florida so we have a valid Florida registration), and no county decal (here in Mechanicsville, Va we have to have county stickers on our car but they aren't required in Florida so he doesn't have one.) So....besides the windshield being our fault, where the tickets wrongfully charged since it's his father's car? Thanks everyone, I honestly thought that if it was somebody else's car it wouldn't matter what state it was being driven in as long as the driver had a valid license....it makes sense, I just wanted to get the facts straight. My mom works at a regional jail and she usually tells me when something isn't right so I can change it, but she never breathed a word about his car being registered in FL and thats why I thought it wouldn't matter, thanks

Answer:
The tickets are legitimate. The location of the owner of the car is not relevant. The location where the car is being operated is. Your boyfriend has no excuse for failing to either register the car or get a new driver's license. You said he moved last summer - what was he thinking?
