Is it too far to drive from Manassas, Virginia to Orlando, Florida? What's suggested one day driving distance? Question: I have never traveled that far by driving a car. The air tickets are expensive during the time of my trip. A friend suggested to drive together but I wonder even with two people drive, it is still a too far trip for driving, especially with two kids in the car. Any suggestions are highly appreciated. Answer: When I travel I look at google maps. I search tourist info on the areas Im going through, and plan cheap places to stop to relieve the tension of driving. In VA there are so many caves with public cheap tours that are great for kids, but you probably would want to be farther down your trip before making any sightseeing stops such as that, Driving is odd, somedays you can drive forever and feel alert and good, and other times, I get antsy and stop way too much. Basically your trip is approx 833 miles, 13 hours is googles approximation city to city. You could do this with a friend and 2 kids. The thing is you will with breaks etc wind up driving at night, which is not as safe in some instances, but you do have less traffic, it all depends on what you are comforatable with. Maybe set a goal of half the trip in one day and the next finish it up. Having an adult to talk to will help the time go by faster thats for sure! |

I dont have a car. How do i get to Manassas, Virginia from Stamford, CT.? Question: Is there a train or bus service etc.? Answer: Hmm if you can get to Penn station in NYC there is a bus service called Vamoose that goes from there to Arlington, Virginia and from there you can catch the metro to Vienna or get someone to pick you up from Manassas. The Vamoose tickets are twenty five dollars and you have to make reservations before hand. Hope this helps. |

Is there a bus line that goes from Manassas to Richmond in Virginia? Question: I'm going off to the University of Richmond in August and I'm looking for some way to get my boyfriend to be able to visit me every few weeks since he doesn't have a car and I'm going to be too busy to drive up every weekend... I was hoping to find some sort of monthly pass on a bus line which could take him but as of yet I can't find anything... any suggestions? Thank you! how can i drive a car in Virginia with a dead inspection to get inspected? Question: Ok i just bought a car from a private owner and i have insurance,tags BUT the windshield is cracked so i need to get that replaced so i can pass inspection, the thing is the cheapest place to change out my windshield is maybe 45 mins away now i could chance this but getting close Manassas there is ALWAYS state police sitting around, so my question is how can i drive the car there? there is a garage right next to the windshield company so i would just zip over there for inspection. car already has a dead inspection since 07 though thats what holding me back Answer: |

tooya celica fuse relay box question? Question: ok. this is a multi part question. my friend got a 5th generation toyota celica from his aunt. she didnt want it anymore, and he needed a car, blah blah blah. we live in manassas, virginia. his aunt lives in roanoke. he and his dad drove it from roanoke to manassas, and everything was fine. no engine knocking, plenty of life in the engine, everything seemed fine. they let it sit for a few days cause they had to wait to get up enough money to have it go through dmv paperwork and pay for insurance, and get it inspected, the works. my friend got in, and the car cranked, but wouldnt start. now, any normal person would automatically check the gas gauge and the battery. but noooooooo. he told his dad, and his dad decided to be a dumbass. he popped the hood, and decided it was something wrong with the computer system in the car. after he couldnt find it, he checked the fuse relay. he took out fuses one by ne to have them tested. eventually he got to the efi main fuse. he took it out (and then lost) the efi main fuse, then worked his way over to the alternator fuse. while trying to get that out, he shattered the plastic cap, and then tried to muscle the copper prongs out, or something, and broke off alot of the copper that was sticking out. he got pissed off, and gave up. my friend had me over to try to get it working. i popped the hood and saw the battery was 4 years old, and a crappy brand that i had never heard of before. so before i knew anything about the fuses, (i didnt learn about that till later) i tried to jump it. the lights on the dash wouldnt even register when the battery was hooked up to a brand new one. so i asked if they had done anything to it before i looked at it. thats when i got the story. question time. would the missing efi main fuse and a missing alternator fuse cause the car to go from clicking when the key turned, to nothing at all? is there a way to take the fuse relay box apart so i can get those stupid prongs out so they dont have to blow mad money on a new entire electrical harness system? (thats what his dad says the dealership told him when he asked. i dont see how that would merit a new entire electrical harness, but whatever.) i dont have a knack for working on mechanical stuff, but electrical stuff im good at. just to make sure, is there anything i would be missing that would cause the car to not turn on after he took out the fuses? (saying we replaced those) cause once those get replaced, im thinking that it should be ok to get jumped. but the big one is, IS THERE A WAY TO GET THAT FRAKKING BOX OPEN SO I CAN GET THOSE FRAKKING PRONGS OUT?!?! >.< i spent 3 hours trying to get them out with a pair of pliers before i wanted to punt babies across a football field. or even easier, what do you recommend doing to get those cursed things out????? -love in advance Answer: It is not wise to jump the newer cars with computer systems. Two things can happen even though they don't happen often. You can burn out the computer or diodes in the alternator. If you are going to attempt to remove the prongs you are talking about make sure to disconnect the battery. You could try a tweezers or a thin needle nose pliers. You could also try putting some supper glue on a tooth pick and touching it to the prongs being careful not to touch anything else. When it drys then try to pull up. if the glue sticks to something else nail polish remover breaks the bond. Make sure to replace any damaged fuses or relays. With the battery disconnected check the connections at the starter motor and alternator. If you have a meter check the continuity. Take the battery to dealer that checks batteries for you. Many do this free. If a battery is damaged like fried cells it won't even let you jump the vehicle. Also have them check the alternator. Good chance messing around with the electrical the way the dad did he may have fried somethings like the alternator or computer. Don't be placing any blame here let's keep the peace. Replace whatever is necessary. After doing all this if it still doesn't start you will have to have it looked at by a pro. Electrical problems can be the worse to trouble shoot but in you case I don't think that will happen. Since the father was messing with the box I don't know why the dealer ship suggested changing the harness rather then the fuse box. Maybe the fuse box is part of the harness but not likely. Could be just the fuse box is broke. If you can get continuity through all the fuses while their switches are engaged from a negative ground it is probably not a problem the relays is a different story. Relays can be costly. He could have shorted out the relays and fuses if he bent or broke them off. Good luck! If it needs further trouble shooting and help, take it to a reputable mechanic. Dealer are usually about three times as expensive. Unfortunately sometimes only dealers can fix them or have the parts. |
