Funny you know all those specs on the Chevelle and don't know or haven't tested it for a 1/4 mile time yet. In any case you have at least a 500 pound weight advantage over the 4040 pound Charger, and with all those mods you should easily run in the 12's, while the Charger SRT/Daytona does high 13's. (stock).

I want to buy a 1991 Olds Royal,what would make the power windows not go down or go down real slow?

Its a good running car but the front power windows will not go down, what could cause this and is it expensive to fix???

Answer:
Could be the window regulator or the motor. Could also be the switch itself. If the window does not go down or up at all, more than likely the regulator or switch. If it is moving slowly, probably the motor. GM has notoriously bad regulators, so that's where I would suspect first. The price of such a repair will be moderate, depending if it needs a motor or not...look to spend 250-500 if you are paying an auto repair shop.

why does my car smell like burning oil right after i get an oil change?

My car is new (13,000 miles) and i change my oil about ever 2000 to 2500 miles with synthetic (royal purple) oil. Everytime I change my oil i smell burning oil for the first 100-200 miles. Then it goes away. The only time I smell it is if I stop and walk by the front of the car with the motor off. I just changed it for the 6th time and made sure not to drop oil on anything in the motor and I cleaned around the new oil filter with a rag to get the oil that drips off the oil pan and exhaust pipe (a little always drips when I remove the old filter). I still smell it. Is this normal in some cars. I have never smelled it before. thanks.

Answer:
Yes synethic oils take longer to burn away when you drip onto the exhaust. Bend an oil licence plate and drape it over where the oil gets onto the exhaust. Change the oil and remove the licence plate drip shield. You do not have to replace your oil so often unless your racing the car. I use 15,000 Mobil One and change it approxiately every 4,000 miles. Some heavy foot driving and mostly 8 miles to and from work..

Don't know where you're from but in the USA if you have comprehensive coverage which covers broken glass, vandalism etc... your insurance company can not raise your rates due to a claim of that sort. That being said, most comprehensive coverage has a deductible unless you opted for none when you bought your policy. Check to see if there is a deductible and how much it is. If the deductible is higher than you cost for the repairs pay it out of pocket. If the repairs are higher than the deductible use the insurance.
