best used car dealer in chantilly,va? Question: i want to buy a car, and i want to go to a really good used car dealer in chantilly, Virginia. I want them to have good customer service, and some friends told me about Dulles Auto Sales is that a good used car dealer that i can go to ?? Answer: Well I don't live in Chantilly, but I live a bit up north in College Park, MD. I've heard nothing but good things from the Koons dealerships in Tyson's Corner, VA. If you wanna buy a used car, go to any Carmax. They're all over the country and there should be one around Chantilly. Carmax sells used cars at a SLIGHTLY higher price, but the customer service is unmatched and all of the used cars are GUARANTEED to have no problems and come with a warranty. |

Opinions on Northern Virginia auto body shops? Question: I was in a car accident recently and have been given three recommendations from the other driver's insurance. I am trying to decide which to use and am looking for opinions on them. They are: Loudoun Auto Body (Chantilly, VA), D&V Auto Body (Dulles, VA), and Sterling Collision (Herndon, VA) which I believe is also known as Sterling Auto Centers. Answer: vagirlhi, I've found a nice list of auto body shops in Virginia. why would the cops lie to us? Question: on tuesday there were cops swarming everywhere by my work. down the road there were 4 cars (2 marked, one unmarked, and one SUV) and they had the dogs out. at that same corner was a bike (motorcycle) cop and turning onto the street was another unmarked. as i was going down the road that the unmarked was turning off of, i passed 2 more bike cops and yet another unmarked. on that road, you pass a highschool, and then there is an open field that is used as an off-leash dog park. in the field were 2 helicopters (they werent our county's tho, i know them) and there were 2 more bike cops, and a marked car, and you could see the cops in the bushes. at the end of that road was a black SUV off to the side, and inside it were 4 guys dressed completely in black, sunglasses to match, and what looked like bodyarmer. we had NO clue what was going on, it was cauing massive traffic issues cause everyone was staring and not paying attention to where they were driving. we were really worried that something was going on at the highschool, because 2 people from that highschool have gone "off" and killed people, one was the VT shooter and the other opened fired at the local police station (this is chantilly virginia btw - so westfields HS was the highschool in question). when i got back from lunch i told my boss and the receptionist what was going on, and the receptionist called the local police station to ask what was happening and if we should be worried and stay in the building (we had that DC sniper thing around here too, i was 2 blocks from one of the shootings and had no idea it was happening). They told us it was just "tactal trainning drills" and not to worry. well today in the paper we read that Bush was one road over - those were his presidental helicopters and the entorage. we cant believe that the cops would flat out lie about it. whats so hard about saying that they are just covering the president who just happens to be a few blocks away? now i dont feel safe at all that if something serious WAS to happen in the area again that we would be notified. is it just our county's policy or do cops not tell civilans about whats going on on a regular basis? i know that we werent told about the police shootings until it was reported on the news, that was just down the road! we could have been going to lunch and been caught in the cross-fire! yeah i know they didnt want to just say the president is here - but not telling anyone ANYTHING was causing a lot of panic. and its not like they said what building the president was in, but they could have just said he was giving a speech in the area and it would have helped, ya know? Answer: By telling everyone that the president is in the area, they would be risking MORE panic and possible mobs which can both be equally dangerous to the people and the president. Not to mention, the factor of the president's security. They don't want anyone with ill-will towards the president to know where he is. This is especially a high factor currently. It sucks when they do that but that's the best way for them to keep him secure. |

Help me with inauguration transportation...? Question: No haters please! I'm planning on taking the metro during inauguration weekend. I have hotel accommodations in Chantilly, Virginia (Dulles Airport). I also have a rental car. What's the nearest metro station to my hotel? Would it be smarter to drive to a station that is closer to Downtown D.C. or just park at the station that's closest to the hotel? Am I just going to have trouble getting to D.C. on Tuesday or will it be a problem every day? Please help soon I've never been to D.C.! Answer: Don't go any further toward DC than you have to. The largest Metro parking lots are at the outer stations. From Chantilly, your best bet is the Vienna Metro Station, which has a large series of parking lots and garages. But, be aware that they will fill up very early on Inauguration Day. They will open at 3:30am, and Metro train service will start at 4am--you would do well to get there very early. If you get there and find no parking, that probably means that all of the Metro station lots are already filled, and you may not be able to make it downtown at all. Have you checked into whether your hotel is offering a shuttle bus service to Metro? That would be even better than driving. Another alternative is to take the airport bus to the West Falls Church Metro station. For more information, check the Metro website: http://www.wmata.com While it's going to be an exciting day and it's great that you're coming, the DC area is expecting monumental crowds. Do as much advance planning as you can. UPDATE Transportation problems will be at their worse on Tuesday as everyone tries to get downtown at the same time. The other days will be busy, but at least a bit better. |

Should Police Be Arresting People For Asking For Directions? Question: BALTIMORE -- Baltimore City police arrested a Virginia couple over the weekend after they asked an officer for directions. WBAL-TV 11 News I-Team reporter David Collins said Joshua Kelly and Llara Brook, of Chantilly, Va., got lost leaving an Orioles game on Saturday. Collins reported a city officer arrested them for trespassing on a public street while they were asking for directions . "In jail for eight hours -- sleeping on a concrete floor next to a toilet," Kelly said. "It was a nightmare," Brook said. "I was in there thinking I was just dreaming and waiting to wake up." Collins reported it was a nightmare ending to a nearly perfect day. He said the couple went to a company picnic and watched the Orioles beat Kansas City. It was their first trip to Camden Yards and asked two people for directions to Interstate 95 South when they left. Collins said somehow they ended up in the Cherry Hill section of south Baltimore. Hopelessly lost, relief melted away concerns after they spotted a police vehicle. "I said, 'Thank goodness, could you please get us to 95?" Kelly said. "The first thing that she said to us was no -- you just ran that stop sign, pull over," Brook said. "It wasn't a big deal. We'll pay the stop sign violation, but can we have directions?" "What she said was 'You found your own way in here, you can find your own way out.'" Kelly said. Collins said the couple spotted another police vehicle and flagged that officer down for directions. But Officer Natalie Preston, a six-year veteran of the force, intervened. "That really threw us for a loop when she stepped in between our cars," Kelly said. "(She) said my partner is not going to step in front of me and tell you directions if I'm not." Collins reported the circumstances got worse. Kelly pulled 40 feet forward parking next to a curb and put his flashers on while Brook was on the phone to her father hoping he could help her with directions. Both her parents are police officers in the Harrisburg, Pa., area. "(Brook's father) was in the middle of giving us directions when the officer screeched up behind us and got out of the car and asked me to step out. I obeyed," Kelly said. "I obeyed everything -- stepped out of the car, put my hands behind my back, and the next thing I know, I was getting arrested for trespassing." "By this time, I was completely in tears," Brook said. "I said, 'Ma'am, you know, we just need your help. We are not trying to cause you any trouble. I'm not leaving him here.' What she did was walk over to my side of the car and said, 'Ok, we are taking you downtown, too.'" Collins said the couple was released from jail without being charged with anything. Brook is now concerned the arrest may complicate a criminal background check she's going through in her job as a child care worker. Collins said police left Kelly's car unlocked and the windows down at the impound lot. He reported a cell phone charger, pair of sunglasses and 20 CDs were stolen. Baltimore City police said they are looking into the incident. Answer: The answer is no. The responses from some of the "officers" who answered is prime example that there is a major problem in this country with officers abusing the law. Making excuse for officers is pathetic. IF YOU CANNOT HANDLE THE JOB QUIT don't take it out on john q. public. You knew what you were getting into. |
