Is this the work of illegals Kidnapping reported in West Valley City area?
Question:
Police are searching for an approximately 8-year-old girl who was possibly kidnapped from the West Valley City area Thursday morning, police said. She was riding a skateboard alone about 10 a.m., when a car with two men inside pulled over near 5600 West and 5000 South, cutting off a car in the next lane, said Unified Police Lt. Don Hutson. One of the men grabbed the child under his arm and placed her into an older-model white sedan, according to the woman whose car was cut off by the sedan. He apparently also took the skateboard. The woman reported the kidnapping and told police the car sped north on 5600 West. She followed the vehicle until losing sight of it near the intersection with 4100 South, Hutson said. The girl did not scream or flail when the man grabbed her, Hutson said, and no one has yet filed a missing-child report matching her description. Nonetheless, more than 100 law enforcement officers combed the area early Thursday afternoon, knocking on doors to try to glean more information. They issued an Amber Alert about 2:30 p.m. "We're choosing to err on the side of caution," said Salt Lake County Sheriff Jim Winder. "If it was my child, I'd want all the resources out and about." The girl is described as being white with blond hair, wearing a light blue sundress and brown sandals. The white sedan had a license plate that contained 977OJ or 977AJ, and the model year was between 1989 and 1995. The two men appeared to be Latino. The man who grabbed the child was about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt and light blue jeans. He looked to be in his 30s and was clean cut http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_15318351 --------------------- -----------------------------------------------------------

Answer:
I used to live in West Jordan and the population of illegals has multiplied everywhere, with West Valley having become a 'less desirable area' for a long time. Head south of 70th So. and Redwood and you're in an area that is truly frightening also. We almost bought a house in Hunter, whooo, the Samoans, Tongans, and Mexicans had taken over there too. You'll never know, unless the child is found or the mother indicates whether or not, maybe the father or his friends are illegal. I think that most of the Samoans and Tongans come into the country legally, but that still doesn't make them all nice people. Culture always plays a role when dealing with people of different races or ethnicity. When we have an influx of people from a different country/island, whatever, we also have to understand that they bring their culture with them, ie., Polynesians cooking a pig in the ground in their back yard. Tongans consider ponies and puppies DINNER. Their way of 'slaughtering' these animals is VERY difficult to handle when these people wind up being your neighbor. You learn to NEVER let your dog out of your site and if you have horses, you learn that 'they move in on the game' early in the morning.

Should children be victims of open borders & illegal immigration West Valley girl found after Amber Alert?
Question:
WEST VALLEY, Utah ( ABC 4 News)- It was a happy conclusion to an Amber Alert that was issued in West Valley after police say a man kidnapped his 2-year-old daughter. West Valley Police say on Saturday morning 24-year-old Cesar Vasquez-Barron took Natalia Velazquez from her mother’s home at 3554 west Ridgeland Circle. Rosa Loya said,” I was asleep and he went in there got me up and informed me that he was going to take my daughters. And after he ran out with them he took just one of them.” West Valley police issued an Amber Alert for Natalia's non-custodial father. 18-year-old Loya says she started getting text messages and phone calls from Vasquez-Barron who told her he was headed to Mexico with their daughter. However, Vasquez-Barron would be on his way to jail two hours after the amber alert was issued. Police found him near 1060 s 220 west in Salt Lake City. West Valley Police Lt. Bill Merritt said,” What we attribute it to was a very alert Salt Lake officer who had heard the locate come out and saw the car. He recognized the plate and got it taken care of.” Paul Murphy of the Utah Attorney General's Office is the Utah Amber Alert Coordinator. He says this type of success on Amber Alerts is a deterrent to potential abductors. Murphy said,” And we think it's because people realize an Amber Alert will be issued and everybody's going to be looking for the suspect and that child.” Loya says she's thankful the system worked. Loya said,” I was so happy, I was go glad she was here with me. When I saw her I wanted to hug her.” Paul Murphy says Utah only had three Amber Alerts last year. He says the US and Mexico are working closely together and recovering hundreds of abducted US children in that country. West Valley police say Vasquez-Barron is an illegal immigrant who was deported and came back into this country within the last few weeks. Police say he has several aliases including Gabriel Velazquez, Luis Fernandez, and Christian DeJesus. http://www.abc4.com/content/news/slc/story/West-Valley-girl-fou nd-after-Amber-Alert/K3rZCKtvO0eRdNRyvdNg3A.cspx

Answer:
These children are used as pawns and are victims from the start. Like it or not, if the mother was not involved with someone like this, it would not have happened. If the mother was found out to be an illegal, she should have been deported on the spot with her daughters. They use their children as pawns to try and get citizenship, to remain here and what about the abuse they put their children in to come here, look who's hands they place their beloved children into. If your involved with one of these lawbreakers, you reap what you sow!!

What wineries/vineyards should I visit in the Loire Valley?
Question:
I'll be traveling the Loire Valley by car next month, traveling from Angers in the west to as far East as Blois and I'd like to know if anyone could recommend any local wineries worth touring. I'd like to avoid the ultra-commercial and find some good local wines to taste and bring back to the States.

Answer:
First, let me congratulate you on your choice! (My mom's family is from the region, so I'm biased!) I have good news and bad news. The good news is French wine regions are not the Napa Valley, it will be hard finding an ultra-commercial place. Most wineries are small, family-owned businesses and are very informal. Wine tasting is free in 95% of places in France, only guided tours of the cellars will sometimes have admission charges (only a few euros). Only problem with that, and that's the bad news, is that their are usually open in spring and summer only (until late October sometimes), but November is really off-season and most of them will either be closed or open on Saturdays only or by appointment only. So this will limit your choice. As far as recommending one in particular, the only ones I know are in Chinon, you can find them through the tourist office website, under the Discover tab. http://www.chinon.com/ So first and foremost, get a list of all the wineries along the part of the Loire you will be visiting. There are specialized guide books on that or you can get the lists from the tourist offices online. Then look at their opening days or call to ask if you can visit. If you want advice on what to see and do in the area (and what not to do) aside from wine-tasting or advice on accomodation I'll be happy to help. Please visit Chinon and the nearby Fontevraud Abbey, you won't regret it. Katya's right about the wine limit, it's actually only one liter per person. I have always brought more and never had any problem though. Small wineries don't ship abroad, only large, more commercial ones and some retail places (cavistes). I don't know which state you are coming from and what the alcohol tax is where you live but even if you decide to bring back several bottles and go through customs, paying the taxes + custom fees will still be much cheaper than buying the same wines in the US.

Camping Equipment Rental for Death Valley?
Question:
We're arriving at Las Vegas airport and renting a car to take us to Death Valley. I know of one place I can rent camping equipment, but it is out of our way (toward Hoover Dam). Does anyone know of another place on the west side of Las Vegas on the way out to Death Valley National Park?

Answer:
camping equipment can be rented from a variety of places. Sports chalet and REI both have locations in Lost Wages, I mean Las Vegas, sportchalet.com (702) 255-7570 - 8825 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV. rei.com (702) 896-7111 - 2220 Village Walk Dr, #150, Henderson, NV. If you want an RV El Monte Rv rental has a location there http://www.elmonterv.com/rv-rentals-las-vegas/rl-7.aspx

Are there any Israeli Jews who would visit the West Bank?
Question:
I mean, apart from as a soldier! For education or pleasure? I know there are groups such as Rabbis for Justice, but I mean would any of you reading this go there? It's true that at most checkpoints the IDF won't let you cross with an Israeli passport, but many of you have dual nationality and even Israelis can go to Jericho, where they've built a big casino in the hope of attracting Israelis. I'm not advocating going to the casino, but there's a wonderful (and hardly used) cable car up to the Mount of Temptation from where you can see the whole Jordan valley, the Dead Sea and the mountains of Jordan. Would you be OK with the idea of helping the Palestinian economy, just a little bit? And would you feel safe? I've taken Jews to Bethlehem and they've been perfectly safe.

Answer:
It depends, what are their stands on Israel. If it was a Jew from Ocean Parkway or Brooklyn and acting all extreme and saying this is his land, I'm sure he would live in our land happily in our Palestinian land, but he would be a pathetic coward and never leave his house!

Arizona Used Car Dealerships?
Question:
Do you know of any used car dealerships in the west valley area? I just moved here and I'm young so I don't have much money to spend. I'm looking for dealerships that have cars/trucks under $5,000.

Answer:
There are dozens of them in Phoenix, Glendale and Peoria. Get yourself a weekend newspaper and look in the classified ads.

Used car + bike dealerships in west LA? (venice, santa monica)?
Question:
Planning ahead - but I like to research things well in advance In May 2013, I plan on heading to LA, living near Venice, on a 4 month J1 student work/travel visa from Ireland I'll be needing either a car or bike to get around as work could be anywhere between Venice, Santa Monica or closer to West Hollywood Plus, I've full intentions of travelling around the National Parks of California and Utah, so a bike instead of a car makes a lot more sense I'd a good look around on ebay and craig's list, for both used cars and bikes but of the few cars priced under $2k a lot of it looks like complete junk and any bikes under $3k are all Moto X dirt bikes Similar situation with rental. Prices in the thousands for 3 month rental for either bike or car If I were to buy a car I'd go for someting basic and reliable like a Merc 190 or a Crown Vic, and in a bike the likes of an old Honda CB750 or Harley Sportster 883 Do any dealerships deal only in cheap used/ex hire/ex gov cars? Do any larger pawn shops buy and sell used cars? eg: - like I'd buy for $1000, and sell back at an agreed price of like $300 etc... 90 days later What motor insurance brokers deal with non standard customers? As it is, It's looking more sensible to ship my own bike from Heathrow in London to LAX At least there would be less chance of it breaking down and leaving me stranded in the middle of death Valley :D

Answer:
You can see San Francisco using the metro system there, but the Bay Area Rapid Transit only goes as far south as San Jose. It is possible to take a bus between the cities however to get to Monterey. I the LA area you can travel between LA and Santa Barbara using the local metro system. A bus Can be taken to Flagstaff, but to see the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, ZIon you would have to get tour buses. You can also travel from either LA or Flagstaff to Las Vegas by bus. A car would be a lot easier and faster, however. Have a great trip!
