What is the best city in Texas to live in without a car, need public transportation?
Question:
I am planning on extending my job search to texas. But I want to go without a car and only use public transportation and my bike. I would like to know which city will be most likely to have convenience stores within biking range. Will have cheap apartments. And will also have good public transportation.

I'd look at Austin. Because of the number of students there, there are plenty of apartments at reasonable rate and they have a fairly decent metropolitan bus system.

How long does it take to travel by car from New York City to Dallas Texas?
Question:
Can anyone tell me how long it takes to travel by car from New York City to Dallas Texas? Any web site with this information would also be great, Thanks!

Answer:
It would take about 24 hours with minimum stops, but it's a very long journey and you would have to stop at a hotel. The trip would take about 2 days, possibly longer depending on how many stops you take. Do Electric Cars make better economic sense along California's coast rather than, say, inland Texas?
Question:
Since the gas prices in CA are astronomically high (they're high here in Texas too, but not as bad as Cali's), and since Texas cities are geographically more sprawled than California ones, wouldn't it make better since to go electric if you're living in a compact city or in California?

Answer:
California gas prices are so high because of the tax structure in a gallon of gas. Electric cars make no sense really anywhere because the range is so short. The Leaf would have no value in a typical CA commute because they have a range of less than 40 miles and when done they stop almost immediately. A Prius can make it but the environmental damage done by a Prius is severe as it is being made and when it is junked. The Chev Volt makes sense just about anywhere. Hybrids have no value at all on hilly or mountainous areas as the synergy drive shuts down on hills. In normal driving you can get better MPGs from the Toyota Yaris than you can a Toyota Prius. The Volt is the most practical car as you could drive it across country but it is still to costly for the average person and the Hollywood celebs don't embrace it for their big feeling show lives.

Is Brownsville,Texas a Walking city?or atleast w/Good Public Transport or must you rent a Car?
Question:
Thinking of a weekend trip to Brownsville,Texas and was wondering if you needed a Car to Get around?or is it a Nice walking city?or atleast with decent Public Transport to Get around in?Not really into driving so would avoid it if possible...anyone whos been there or lives there is it possible to survive for a weekend in brownsvile with no car?is there a certain area where lots of the towns attraction are located in?

Answer:
I'm from the RGV and have been in Brownsville a bunch of times. It's a city with lots of open wide spaces, and the Public Transportation is pretty crummy. Trust me, you don't want to be stuck on a bus with a bunch of people down here who use it. You can survive a weekend without a car, if you hang out with someone who has one! There's not a lot to do in Brownsville, if you're visiting the RGV, you're better off hanging out at South Padre...it's like 20 minutes from Brownsville anyway, and you DEFINITELY do not need public transportation there, and it's so much fun. The weather is great for the beach.

What was the commercial for about baby dinosaurs trying to destroy a city during the osu texas game jan 5?
Question:
They were running around trying to spit fire and break cars and then a really big one comes in and throws a car... ???

Answer:
The commercial you speak of is for Ladders.com a job search company for $100K+ jobs. The point is that the other guys like "monsters.com" are for all kind of jobs and that "Ladders.com" is the big guy for just big paying jobs. Thus the little dinosaurs are unable to do what the big guy can.

Can a texas city go on to private property for the purpose of checking a car's inspection sticker?
Question:
McKinney Texas, Collin County

Answer:
It probably isn't necessary for a car on private property to have a valid inspection sticker. Of course for it to be removed to the inspection station to get it inspected requires special arrangement. (In the UK you need to make an advance appointment with an inspection station; without researching Texas law I can only say that the worst case scenario would be you have to get it towed to the inspection place.) Technically, whoever came onto the private property may well have been trespassing. But you probably won't get anywhere in court by arguing that. Unless this is a homicide case and you are arguing actual fear of harm, and that's why you shot the inspector!
