I live in lewisville texas and I totaled my car and Ineed to find a way back and forth to work any ideas ?
Question:
I am looking fo a car but in the mean time I need to find mabey a city bus or something that I can ride to work till I find me another car.Im new to the area so I dont know where one is.

Answer:
Definitely use the DCTA! Your taxes go the maintainace of those busses so you should definitely utilize that. Also if you're really desperate, I believe the Salvation Army does some transportation arrangements. Best bet though would be finding someone from work who lives around you. Just don't use Craigslist.org to find a rideshare person!

does anyone know how i can rent a car in lewisville texas without a major credit card? plz let me know ASAP.?

Answer:
Don't go to the corporate stores (ex. Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, Budget, etc.). See if there are and independent, locally owned rental car stores. A lot of the small businesses will accept cash deposits. You should expect to put up at least $200.00 for a security deposit, though.

auto hail damage in recent tornado storm in Texas - how to fix?
Question:
Have an old excellent car (20 years), suffered some hail damage during recent Tornados in Dallas, Texas...How about some simple instructions as to how to use Dry Ice to fix the...or try to get most of them out. Also do anyone know a place that will repair the hail damage without costing me an arm and a leg....in the Lewisville, Texas general area..

Answer:
If I were faced with a problem such as yours I would contact an outfit that does "paintless dent removal" and get an estimate from them. I'm aware that dry ice has been used with some (limited) success but I don't think it will really be a feasible way to remove a large number of relatively small diameter dents. To my knowledge, the dry ice method is best when applied to "oilcan" type dents where a larger area has been pushed in. In those cases the dry ice can do a pretty good job of allowing the oil canned area to pop back out. A conventional body shop could "bondo" those small dents in but would probably need to repaint the entire car. Seems to me it would be better to try the paintless dent removal and get an idea of cost there first.

vehicle weighed?
Question:
Where can I get a car weighed in Lewisville Texas?...

Answer:
I don't even know where Lewisville is located but if you look in the Yellow Pages for truck stops, call them and ask if they have truck scales if they do tell them you need a car weighed. I did it once with a motor home and they gave me a certification of the weight.

But no one in the family cept my uncle knows stick shift. I have a lot of memories with this car, and only just turned 16, and would really like to keep it. The help is greatly appreciated! Need to Fix my 1993 car look better...paint job or like?
Question:
I have an old but otherwise nice 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra, four door, white, body is good, paint is not bad in most places, with maybe three or four spot of small rust (really that the paint has scratch off). I would love to get it fix, maybe a decent not top of the line paint job or like that go in hand with the value of the car....just want it to look better. Anyone can direct me to reasonable shop that would do this type of work...i love the car. I live in Lewisville/Flower Mound, Texas area.....

Answer:
Stop by a couple of used car dealers.... Ask them who does there wholesale paint and body repairs.... Many of these shops are "underground" so to speak and may not work for the general public or walk in's.... Ask around and you should be able to get one to do a reasonable job at an inexpensive price..... Or do it yourself like this for under $75..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXbIJ4M37lw http:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUYJZHGgiFc http://www.youtube.com/wat ch?v=xVKWV0iyG-U

Question:
The college that I am going to is in Farmers Branch, and I have been unsuccessful in finding any transport system that goes from Lewisville to even that general area - is there some place where the various systems (DART, etc.) connect? Any help or advice concerning using this would be helpful and appreciated. And incase someone asks, no, getting a car is not an option for me, due to not having a car and to get it insured would cost my family more than an arm and a leg.

Answer:
1. From what I have seen on the maps, the closest city to you is 4.8 miles away. 2. I dont see anything in that area that will help you. 3. I assume that you cannot live on campus. 4. You could share a ride if someone that you know lives close to you. 5. Lastly have you tried speaking with the school to see if there is anyway that they can help you. 6. Good luck and sorry that I could not help.

Should day laborers be allowed to gather where ever they please?
Question:
Do you believe when day laborers are gathered in front of businesses, they chase away customers? If you owned a business, would you want these illegal aliens gathered in front of your business? ###################################################### #### 12:00 AM CDT on Sunday, July 26, 2009 By WENDY HUNDLEY / The Dallas Morning News whundley@dallasnews.com For decades, Huffines Plaza in Lewisville has been an unofficial gathering spot for day laborers. DAVID WOO/DMN Gabriel Cuevas has been a Texas resident for 38 years and lives in Lewisville. He and other day laborers are now looking for work at a convenience store near Huffines Plaza. The shopping center, along Interstate 35E near State Highway 121, provides quick and easy access for employers who need an extra hand willing to give a day's work for a day's pay. While this informal employment system seems to have worked for years with few problems, day laborers no longer feel welcome at the plaza, where "no trespassing" signs have been posted recently and police have been asked to start enforcing trespassing laws. City officials say they're trying to help retailers revitalize aging shopping centers, but the displaced workers seem confused by the sudden shift and say they're only trying to support themselves and their families the best way they can. "All the cars would come from I-35 and see you. Then they started kicking us out. They didn't want us there," said Carlos Javier, 26. "We're not homeless," unemployed construction worker Antonio Aleman said defiantly. "We're looking for work." The "no trespassing" signs were posted at the plaza within days of John Gorena's election to the Lewisville City Council in a June runoff. Gorena, who has been outspoken in his opposition to illegal immigration, declined to speculate on whether there's a connection. "It doesn't matter who gets credit. Something is being done," Gorena said. "I'm satisfied with the direction that we're going. But we have to do more." He said most of the day laborers are here illegally and contribute to growing crime rates, overcrowding of schools and escalating medical costs. But Gorena, who is of Hispanic heritage, also thinks that the day laborers are being exploited by "greedy American employers." He said the "pro-illegal-alien side has lots of money. We Americans have to stand up and fight." Lewisville Mayor Dean Ueckert said the police action at the plaza had nothing to do with Gorena's election and the timing was only a coincidence. He said the changes at Huffines Plaza are the result of several years of work by city officials to encourage owners to spruce up aging retail areas. "Lewisville is almost 90 years old, and we're trying to do some revitalization of shopping centers," the mayor said. "They wanted to try to upgrade their shopping center and came to the conclusion they'd like us to ask the day laborers not to congregate on their property." Alfred Goh, property manager for the plaza, could not be reached for comment. Ueckert said the center is not owned by the Huffines family that has area car dealerships. Three years ago, Lewisville officials considered a day-labor center for workers, but the idea was strongly opposed. "If they're legal and they want to find employment, an employment agency is a great place," Ueckert said. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/st ories/DN-daylabor_26met.ART0.Central.Edition1.4bc95ad.html

Answer:
It's just more evidence that our own government is trying to replace. They won't enforce the laws against them. But if you or I even parked our car in the wrong place you get ticketed or towed. That's why I say we MUST stop finding our fellow Americans guilty of any crime when we serve on jury duty. Our founding fathers for-saw the day when this kind of corruption would come to be. That's why the placed 12 average citizens in charge of finding guilt or innocence in criminal trials. Because they knew the powerful elites would some day try and have a double standard of justice. Carved in stone above the supreme court are the words, "equal justice under law." Until our government starts to enforce the laws equally, we Americans should enforce the rule of law on our own.
