I took my 2001 ford taurus to a local mechanic here in Harlingen, Texas because of the transmission?
Question:
well the transmission was not working wright so i took it to a new mechanic that had just opened he gave me an estimate of $650 to repair this sounded great to me because everyone else wanted more well i worked on it and it took about a week he came and dropped it off at my house when was done so i thought it was done what i mean is the car will not start on park or in neutral i was furious he promised to repair it but he said could not take it back to the shop that same day because there was no room and know he said that it would be a little more then the estimate i said how much $200 more wow i paid him half what i owed him and told him i would pay the wrest when it was working the way it should well he never came and now he said he went to the local JP Judge Wise to file a complaint that he has my license plate number that the judge granted him a lien on the car what should i do

Answer:
call the BAR(bureau of automotive repair)you might also plan on paying the bill, because once a lein is filed he will have rights to own the car, until he has the money for the repair. I know that you have a worse issue now, but getting the BAR involved will help you. That is what they do, make sure that a service you asked for, signed a paper saying you would pay the charge for the service, and now have a complaint. they will resolve the issue, but know that after 45 days from the day of the lein, he will now gain ownership. hope that helps you also, another thing I have is if you pay the bill and you have complaints and he is unwilling to fix the issue that you both agreed to in the contract you signed(which I hope he gave you a signed paper with estimates and repair listing what he was fixing and the parts list and repairs made) then paying him, and you still have problems with the original issue or even related issues, then he is breach of contract and is resposible to not only fix the issue, but you can sue for punitive damagees like missed work, rent a car, and maybe more. call the BAR asap, and be prepared to pay him in full first

I am looking for a car service to the airport for my elderly grandfather!?!?
Question:
My grandfather is well into his 80s and I would like to fly him to Michigan from Texas. He lives in Rio Hondo and the closest airport is Harlingen but there are not any non stop flights. So I was thinking if I got a car service to pick in up and drive him to Houston it may be easier for him than if he had to transfer flights. However I need to find a GOOD car service. I don't want to stick him in a stinky dirty taxi but I can't afford a Limo so does anyone have an affordable option?

Answer:
It is about a 6 hour drive from Rio Hondo to Houston. Southwest Airlines flies out of Harlingen. They are very good about making sure old folks who need assistance make their connecting flight, just let them know that you need special assistance. Give them a call and ask them.

Mexican Woman took daughter on immigrant smuggling trip can police separate Mexican mother from her child?
Question:
Mexican Woman took daughter on immigrant smuggling trip can police separate Mexican mother from her child if her only crime is to work ? A Mexican woman is behind bars after she allegedly took her juvenile daughter along for the ride while smuggling immigrants in Harlingen. U.S. Border Patrol agents have filed human smuggling charges against Beatriz Urbina-Zavala. Court records show that a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) state trooper pulled her over for a traffic violation off Expressway 83 and Stuart Place Road on Wednesday. Border Patrol agents were called to the scene and determined that Urbina-Zavala and six of her adult passengers were all illegal immigrants. Court records show that the woman's juvenile daughter was also a passenger in the car. Urbina-Zavala told Border Patrol agents that she was supposed to get paid $30 per immigrant to take them to a house in Mission. The accused human smuggler appeared before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Ronald Morgan on Thursday morning. Court records show that Urbina-Zavala is a native of Michoacan, Mexico. Judge Morgan denied bond for her until a Tuesday afternoon hearing. http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Illegal-Immigra nt-Held-in-Abduction-Stabbing-119858184.html

Answer:
Of course they can. They already have, since she's in custody. Her crime, however, was not "to work". It was human smuggling, a serious offense which she freely admitted to border agents. Even worse, she involved her young child in the commission of this crime, something anyone should find abhorrent. The child will likely be placed either in CPS care or with family members in either country. Of course, after the mother's deportation, the child can be returned to her in Mexico and there would be nothing the US government could do about it.
