Questions Related to farmers, branch cars

Provided By Y! Answers

I live in Lewiville, Texas and need to know if I can get to Farmers Branch, Texas via pubnlic transportation.?
Question:
The college that I am going to is in Farmers Branch, and I have been unsuccessful in finding any transport system that goes from Lewisville to even that general area - is there some place where the various systems (DART, etc.) connect? Any help or advice concerning using this would be helpful and appreciated. And incase someone asks, no, getting a car is not an option for me, due to not having a car and to get it insured would cost my family more than an arm and a leg.

Answer:
1. From what I have seen on the maps, the closest city to you is 4.8 miles away. 2. I dont see anything in that area that will help you. 3. I assume that you cannot live on campus. 4. You could share a ride if someone that you know lives close to you. 5. Lastly have you tried speaking with the school to see if there is anyway that they can help you. 6. Good luck and sorry that I could not help.

Illegal immigration question...?
Question:
I live directly to Farmers Branch, TX. The most recent city to pass anti illegal immigration legislation. Having a high percentage of illegal immigrants living around me, I was OVERJOYED by this new legislation. Me and visitors to my home have had numerous problems with these illegals. I have had 3 of my friends cars wrecked sitting right outside of my house by illegals who were drunk driving and fled the scene (Their car was still outside, rendred inoperable due to smashing two of my visitors vehicles). The police were able to identify them by the expired insurance card in the glovebox. Just one example of the trouble they cause. My question is, besides the ILLEGALS themselves, who else is upset about this? Why are we so upset about enforcing laws that ALREADY exist!!!! If we open up our borders and let everyone in, we (Texas, not the whole US) will be Mexico in 5 years. I for one don't want to live like that. This country is great due to the laws that comprise it. Do you agree?

Answer:
You have put it very well. I agree that we need to enforce the laws we have. Implement the rules governing these laws. We want to let in people into this county that have some work ethics and responsible for their actions. The more third world people we let in to our country, the more problems with the lower class of life we will have. We are not opposed ot immigration but we are opposed to illegal immigration and all law official turning their heads the other way to enforce the laws on the books. Government needs to set the priorities of the Federal, States, and Local police. We as citizens must also demand that our local governments protect our borders along with the Federal Government. It is time for us citizens to start speaking up to Local , State and Federal officials explaining and demanding that we have had enough. Or we should vote them out of office. That our power.

Should American corporations support LULAC at expense of middle-class Americans?
Question:
I received this article which shows a number of American businesses that support LULAC. We all know LULAC is pro-illegal and anti enforcement of our immigration laws....support by these companies undermines middle-class Americans efforts to protect our country and our way of life for future generations. LULAC CORPORATE FUNDING: We are going to share, below, the names of corporations who previously donated $10,000.00 to $100,000, to LULAC, in one single year. These corporations need to know that some of their donations are being used to fight ordinances aimed at addressing illegal immigration or legal residency, on a local level, like Farmers Branch did. The laws of our GREAT NATION are black and white, and there is NO ROOM for shades of gray. When people come to our country without documented permission, then they are here illegally. When they carry fake identifications, then they are a felon. We have been receiving reports, in our in-box, that Catholic Charities is helping Illegal's obtain fake identifications. Texans are spending over 5 BILLION a year supporting Illegal Aliens, Illegal Immigrants, Illegal Residents, or whatever the politically correct term for ILLEGAL is. We encourage you to contact the executives, of these corporations, and ask them to scrutinize their future contributions to ACLU, LULAC and MALDEF. What would be your reaction to this Tensions flare at police dialogue with Hispanic community?
Question:
Dallas activist Carlos Quintanilla--who has been vocal in his criticisms of Irving's program of turning over illegal immigrants who are in the city jail to federal immigration officials to be detained and possibly deported--was thrown out of a meeting at Irving City Hall last night. The Spanish-language forum was intended to build better relations between the Hispanic community and police. Quintanilla criticized the Criminal Alien Program and police for turning over illegal immigrants arrested on minor traffic and other infractions. He also brought forward a 9-year-old boy and alleged that the child had been treated unfairly by police when he was pulled from a car along with his father. Police had been searching the vehicle and proceeded to question his dad in front of him, he alleged. Police chief Larry Boyd said he had not previously heard of the complaint and couldn't comment on it. "He deserves an apology," Quintanilla told the chief. Quintanilla repeatedly kept pushing the child to speak, and the boy clearly was afraid to do so and didn't say anything. Police officers then removed Quintanilla from the meeting. "That was an unfortunate incident where they used the poor child and he was under stress," Boyd said after the meeting. Outside, Quintanilla said police don't want to address the issues, and the crowd was small because of distrust. "People are afraid of the police," he said. http://irvingblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2010/10/tensions-flar e-at-police-dialo.html Do you think activist Carlos Quintanilla as an activist or does have an agenda against the Dallas police dept ?Police said Mr. Quintanilla, leader of Dallas-based Accion America, had seven outstanding warrants – mostly traffic citations – from police in Dallas and Farmers Branch and the Dallas County sheriff's office. He was arrested after an Irving police lieutenant saw him giving an interview to a reporter in the 1000 block of East Irving Boulevard. Police said Thursday that they became aware of Mr. Quintanilla's warrants when they performed a background check after he applied for a parade permit last month. He was told to take care of the warrants before returning to Irving or face arrest, police said. Mr. Quintanilla was being held at Irving jail late Thursday in lieu of $3,014 bail and could not be reached for comment. Here's a look at the warrants – and their respective agencies – against activist Carlos Quintanilla, who was arrested Thursday in Irving. On Thursday, Irving police also arrested Mr. Quintanilla on a charge of driving with an invalid license. •Criminal trespass, Dallas County sheriff's office •Expired registration, Farmers Branch police •Failure to maintain financial responsibility, Farmers Branch police •Speeding, Farmers Branch police •No seat belt, Dallas police •No driver's license, Dallas police •City ordinance violation, Dallas police http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stor ies/111607dnmetquintanilla.7776ee4.html

Answer:
The BIGGER and MORE IMPORTANT question is, can AMERICANS trust the police to do the job they're paid to do evenhandedly and without regard to race or ethnicity? If you're here illegally, you should have NO expectations that you will not be detained and turned over to ICE for deportation. If you're here legally, or a citizen, and are aiding and abetting illegal immigration, you shouldn't expect to be protected either.

Traffic court - two violations - one I'm pretty sure is a no contest plea but not sure about the other?
Question:
I received a traffic ticket in Farmers Branch, TX - a small city landlocked in the middle of Dallas... known to be a speed trap. The first violation was for failure to change my address on my DL outside the 30 days. All I did was move 80 yards to a different apartment unit but the apartment complex physical address was the same except the unit number. I did though get the address (apartment) changed the next day and have the receipt from the DPS for it and the new DL. The second violation is the speeding which I'm fuzzy if I should plea no contest and talk to the judge or not guilty. I was driving and I saw the police car coming the other direction but made a hard u-turn and was accelerating aggressively without his lights on. Lights on or off it's still an emergency vehicle and I accelerated to change lanes and get out of his way as fast as I could as I didn't know if he was going after me or possibly an emergency/something else. He finally did pull me over and said he clocked me when he was behind me going, "43,44, and 45" over the speed limit accelerating - in my opinion he should of just said one speed but none the less he wrote me 45/35. Though yes I could have indeed accelerated to 45 (I wasn't staring at my odometer during) and technically that is 10 over the speed limit BUT my intent was to get out of his way as he didn't turn his lights on immediately nor get right behind me right away. If I do a not guilty plea I can talk to a prosecutor otherwise it's just in the judge's ballpark... opinions? Thank you!

Answer:
You are under no obligation to get out of his way unless his overhead lights and/or siren are on, so I doubt that will work as a defense. The reason he stated 43, 44, 45 was to indicate you were still accelerating. Even though you live in the same apartment complex, you still need to provide your complete address. If you plea no contest, the judge will listen to what you want him to consider. If you plea not guilty, you will have the opportunity to talk to the prosecutor and try and negotiate a plea bargain with him. Hopefully, he will take into consideration you changed your address immediately.

WHICH BANK SHOULD I CHOOSE FROM?
Question:
I was recently at wescom but the local branch closed...I plan to reopen at a local one by getting a cashiers check and switching over (I hear cashier check is the easiest way). My options are Bank of America, Union bank of California, Merchants and Farmers, and Chase. (I plan to open a CD and let it mature when i get a car also i want to have a debit card). Which has the best interest and most reasonable fees? and do they charge to own a debit card? Any help is appreciated thanks a lot!

Answer:
i would go with Merchants and Farmers, stay away from chase and bac, along with citi-bank and wells fargo.

Are these yours?
Question:
As the senior car park attendant for the local branch of a large supermarket chain may I advise you that in my (Small) underground office I have a collection of items inadvertently left in trolleys and if you can prove that they are yours, you are very welcome to retrieve said foodstuffs.Three Wild Alaskan smoked salmon packages (Caught in the wild, untamed waters of the Pacific ocean fish farm). Seven tins of three bean Farmers Market organic soup(Longer tin). One Free trade 90% chocolate edibles formed into a bar (Damaged).

Answer:
What the hell are you still doing a work? I would have thought that a person going to, say, ASDA at Poole (24hr) would be able to park at 2.43 am and not get harassed by a jobs worth parking attendant. Paying £1 during the day is bad enough but paying at this time of night.

Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino value?
Question:
I was driving around a country road in Kansas (where I live) looking at farms and seeing what kinda junk the farmers leave out (pretty cool stuff sometimes) and ran across two 1976 Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino's side by side. One had tires stacked on it and the other was on cinder blocks with fallen branches across the hood (no damage tho), and was just wondering if they were worth anything. I always thought that the car was ugly and I never liked the show all too well but this is the first time seeing one of the cars in person. I asked the owner about them (old farmer in his 80's) and he said that the one on cinder blocks had a 302 and the one under the tires had a 460. I have tried Nada Guides and similar websites to find their value but none have an estimate. I'm giving a true story here, no joke, the farmer has TONS of other old vehicles scattered through-out his property, I was just wondering if they were worth going back and giving him an offer.

Answer:
it all depends if they are clones or stunt cars... which may be beyond repair. so anywhere between $1000 and $10,000.. and it doesn't really matter what they are worth, what counts is what the owner will sell them for...you should have asked him..

I really want my own pony!! (I'm 14 yrs old)?
Question:
Has anyone got a plan I can follow to get my own pony? I am always reading horse care books and articles on the internet! I also have experience with ponies because i sometimes go to a Riding for the Disabled Association branch and help look after the ponies with my two Aunties! I have also helped out on a yard of show ponies and be a womans personal groom! I've been riding for 10 years now and my instructor even says I'm ready for one. So why won't my mum buy me one? I'll even use my £500 in the bank (help towards a car in the future) to help buy it and my £90 I have now! I'll even stop buying horse magazines! What other things could I do to persuade her to buy me a horse? We also know alot of farmers around here who could offer us some cheap rented fields, even if it was just an acre! also, what do you spend on your horse a year? Thanks so much everyone! I know that there are ALOT of resposibilities in caring for a horse, my riding school loans horses out through the winter so maybe I could start with that!! I might let the yahoo answers *community* vote for the best answer because there are so many good ones! Thanks again!

Answer:
I can TOTALLY relate to your question. I wanted one since I was 11 and didnt get one until I was 40! I recommend you start a savings account specifically for the horse/pony. Ask your mom why she doesnt agree on this. Are you responsible with other things like school, chores, etc? Or maybe your mom is worried about your safety? Just tell her you want to start a savings for the horse because you know she loves you and she will give in one day and you will then be prepared for that day! (sounds manipulative but I don't mean it that way) A large horse eats at least one bale of hay a day during winter. So depending on where you live, how much is the hay. It is very high here in Minnesota ($3.75-4.50 a bale!). You need to probably give it feed (some people don't but I do) Find out from some of your horse friends and see if they can give you an idea of their feed costs. Also, you need to have money available for vet bills and worming, hoof trims etc. You may need to sit down with another horse person at the ranch you go to,to get a good idea of all of this. Your mom knows there are other expenses like this so maybe thats why she's not letting you get a horse. Once you get all the figures and you still think you can do it, sit down with her and show her you've 'done your homework' on this. She will be impressed. That alone shows maturity in you and responsibility. Good luck with this. I KNOW the feeling of wanting a horse so bad like you do. God Bless!

I'm always saving up my money to go on riding holidays and I have a lesson once a week. Also when I go to Wales and Cornwall I usually have a ride there. I'm not a typical girl who goes shopping everyday! I'd prefer to be out in a field with my dog, chickens and hopefully one day a horse! My aunties also treat me and take me to 3 day events like Badminton! So this is definately the sport for me!

Answer:
I have always wanted my own pony, and recently my parents said that I can have one! So I'll give you a list of advice. 1. Show your parents really amazing horses for sale on the internet (not too expensive) 2. Don't beg, but plead :) 3. Maybe you cant afford to buy the full costs of a horse instead you could; loan one, share (which i think is the best), or rehome one from websites such as www.redwings.com or the RSPCA. (they are free) A good horse should cost around £3000, but you can get exceptions. Full Livery - £300 per month Farmers fields - Depends.. Not much £50/£100? Vaccinations - £60 (every year) Insurance - £200 (every year) Farrier - Depends, £40 (every 6 weeks) Vet - Can cost ALLOT, a vet callout itself costs £20! And lots of other extra's! And there is also rugs... and useless things.. and carrots... and saddles.. yeahh. Hope this helps, good luck!
