Building a House near Dallas Texas, Help?
Question:
We are going to build a 7 bedroom, 7 full bath, 3 half bath house near Dallas in a town/city called Cedar Hill. What kind of features in a house of this size are expected? We will have 3 fireplaces and one double sided fireplace, a 4-car garage, walkout finished basement and the house will be 7,412 sq ft when it is completed. We live in Idaho right now and don't know what kind of features are expected in a house of this size in that part of the world. Can anyone help? We plan to have the basics such as tile in the kitchen, dining areas, bathrooms, etc. granite counter tops, central A/C, central Vac, jetted bathtubs and a 20x50 Oasis shaped pool with a spa in the back yard. Are there any other details/features that may help the house be worth more when it is completed? Are there any features I may have missed or something that a lot of houses this size have in the Dallas area? It will be on an acre lot of land as well. I'm not sure if that it enough or too much. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Answer:
I'm in North Central Texas, but in a smaller home than yours. You have to remember how hot and humid the summers here can be. Winters can be from very mild to a couple inches of snow, a few freezes and (rarely) large hail. One thing we did and really enjoy, is to have a large covered patio area in back, and covered front porch. We put ceiling fans on the back porch. We use them all the time. They help us cool down and discourage bugs a bit. We also have a gas barbeque out back. Barbecue is really big here, but you probably know that. You could add a waterfall feature and lights to your pool and jacuzzi area. The nicer homes have those types of features. You don't say, but is there a room that would work as a home office? Almost every home has one these days. As for your lot size I don't know what to tell you. There are huge homes on tiny, tiny lots; however, the trend seems to be towards a larger lot. I hope y'all have looked at various housing developments in this area. There are so many. That's where you're going to find what are the very latest features available. Your new house sounds gorgeous. Welcome to Texas!

Is anybody selling a good USED car in the Grand Prairie/Arlington Tx area under $2000 dollars and thats it???
Question:
-Used car with decent mileage -Under $2000 period. -IN pretty good condition -IN or very near the Grand Prairie and Arlington or Cedar Hill area Please let me know. Thanks -From a private dealer...not a dealership.

Answer:
Your best bet is craigslist. A very reliable almost bullet-proof car for under $2000 is a 90-93 honda accord. The interior is very heavy duty so most are still in great condition. Get one between 100-125k miles. Parts are DIRT cheap due to a great following. Great gas mileage and ANY mechanic can work or it for next to nothing. Also it front wheel drive so good in the rain and snow. And even is the engine dies you can get a used one for $500 (unheard of with any other car-period) off ebaymotor.com. You can easily get 200-300k miles. Craigslist is good because you can find one close to you and the people selling it are desparate for the money. Good luck-remeber to vote for a best answer

Why won't the store whose parking lot my car was stolen from release the video so I can find my car?
Question:
My car was stolen last week from the JOANN FABRIC's parking lot in Cedar Hill, TX. They have a video camera mounted to the outside of the building facing the parking lot. I asked the store to allow us or the Cedar Hill PD to review the tape so that we can find our stolen vehicle. The store refused saying that their liability ends at their front door. I only asked to view the tape, did not accuse them of any wrongdoing or liability. Where does liability end and decency begin? Definitely not inside the doors of JOANN FABRIC. Oh, and by the way, there is no way the camera mounted to the wall outside the store could capture video from the sidewalk looking in as they allege. What do you think? Well, I can understand them not wanting to show me the tape, but they should show the PD the tape. I only had liability on my car, it was paid for. It was my only vehicle. It was less than 75 ft from the front door of the store and the parking lot was pretty empty. All I wanted was a clue. The PD already sent me a letter saying there are no clues so the case is going inactive. I lost my job 2 weeks ago and now I have no car. :( I know....throw me a pity party. LOL.

Answer:
I used to work security for a large company. We also did not release video footage or any information to the people if their cars were stollen or broken into. Its a liablity and we cant be held responsible. What if they gave you the footage and information and you found the person and went and beat them up lol. it would be joann fabrics fault Its just a legal thing to protect their own butts. But as for the police department as long as you tell the police that they have video they HAVE to show the police, i mean their the police! But the police might not share that info with you either.

Who's right in this argument? Me and my husband are disputing about our flat tire situation, and...?
Question:
I'm kind of pissed right now, because he should have a spare at all times and a jack. Well yesterday we caught a flat tire in Cedar Hill, Texas. We have no spare and we have no jack. Now he's frustrated because he is certain that it is a FIFTEEN DOLLAR JOB, but my solution of having the truck towed or paying someone to come out to the truck and jack it up for us is a bit more costly. He's right that the tire can be patched for about fifteen dollars. However, when I pointed out that we would have to find someone to come out to the truck, jack it up, and take the tire off (not to mention putting it back on) for free and that it was pretty much illogical, he got really angry and started thrashing around. He has a bad back from the car accident we got into only a month ago, so he can't repair it himself even if we did have the needed tools. What would be the cheapest way to fix this problem? And who's right? I may not be truck repair savvy, but I don't think we can get it done for less than $75. Well he shouldn't be angry about having to spend more than $15 if he doesn't have the things he needs. By the way, we're not bickering underneath the hot Texas sun. His friends picked us up (they have no jack) and bought us home. He said that he only has liability insurance, so he is sure he doesn't have road side assistance. Boy, I wish he did! Oh, and the tire isn't shredded. It just has a hole in it, so I believe it's fixable! My mom is supposed to be giving me a ride out there because my husband is so stubborn that he doesn't even want to go with us. :/ Oh, a quick note - his car is a 1993 suburban, I believe. I call it a big burgundy truck, so maybe now you can picture it. I'll go buy some fix-a-flats (sp) and call a couple of tire service places to get some estimates.

Answer:
is there a hole in the tire or did the tire shred? cause if it just a hole in the tire just get a can of fix a flat and then you dont need a jack and the problem is solved. if the tire shredded then you need to replace the tire and you might as well get it towed. if you want to use a tire patch kit they usually run like 2 or 3 bucks but you will need to buy a jack because you said that you dont have one and they will usually range anywhere from 30 to 50 dollars also using a jack shouldn't hurt your husbands back, and you can do it insted of him because it is really easy, especially if you buy a hydraulic jack. the reason people use jacks is because the mechanism does all the work you only need to be able to operate a leaver or turn a handle which is very simple adn a tire patch kit is also easy enough that you could do it in place of your husband. the easiest way is just buy a can of fix a flat though

Can anyone help me????
Question:
Kent Seko has had an impressive career as a roller coaster designer. One of his best known coasters is the Magnum XL at Cedar Point. The highlight of the ride is the 205 foot drop at the initial hill. When a car reaches the top, its speed is 4 m.p.h. As it descends, the train’s speed increases 1 m.p.h. for every three feet it travels. What is the train’s speed at the bottom of the hill? (Round to the nearest m.p.h.) 66 mph 78 mph 69 mph 72 mph 75 mph

Answer:
speed at bottom = 4 + 205/3 = 4+68.3 = 72.3 = 72 mph *You can tell your teacher that this question should replace the word "travels" with "descends". If you want to be technical about it, the distance the coaster travels along the track is not the same as the height of the coaster (unless it is a perfectly vertical drop, which no coaster is).

Headache after hitting head on rollercoaster?
Question:
I went to Cedar Point the day before yesterday and went on the new water ride. Me being my blonde self, leaned forward on the way down the hill and the car jerked, causing me to slam my head into the headrest of the seat in front of me. I didn't black out or nothing, but it hurt. My ears rung and I had my eyes shut already but I thought I was going to pass out. It freaking hurt. I had a little bit of a headache afterwards but I slept fine last night. Now today I've had a continuous throbbing headache that won't go away with medicine. I feel extremely sleepy and irratible and confused. Is it possible I got a slight concussion or something? On the other hand, I may just be tired. I have diabetes and I also only got 6-7 hours of sleep last night.

Answer:
Best case scenario= just your diabetes/sleep Probably= slight inflammation of the brain Worst case= early stages of brain tumor. Hitting your head hard enough to cause a headache is very serious. Odds are that what you have will cause no long term damage, but will not respond to typical medication. I would go to a General Practitioner and tell him/her because the inflammation could be very bad, or even cause a tumor. Best of luck

Should I get my head checked after hitting it on a roller coaster?
Question:
It's been exactly one week since I went to Cedar Point with my boyfriend. We rode this new water ride and I mistakingly leaned forward on the way down the hill, at the end, the car jerked and I smacked the top of my forehead area on the seat in front of me pretty hard. My head hurt for about an hour afterwards and it went away. The next day it came back worse and I felt horrible. I was at my brothers apt and I had to leave because it hurt so bad I couldn't keep my eyes open. Every day since It's been on and off, worse when I don't get as much sleep. Yesterday I was in a store when my vision went the slightest of bits blurry and I felt numb and weak. Today my heads throbbing and my vision seems "tilted" almost. If that makes any sense. Also, last night when I was trying to go to sleep, I remember feeling really weird. My head felt light some moments, then extremely heavy during other moments and I felt shakey. It seemed to take forever to fall asleep, though I think it only lasted a half hour. I don't have any symptoms of a concussion besides headache and a little confusion. There are no marks on my head and I feel fine half the time. Its also hard because I have blood sugar problems and it could be from that. Should I get it checked out? How soon? Can it wait a week?? How can I take care of it since then (it doesn't respond to medicine).

Answer:
Yes, it's been a week and you're still having problems. Also, the symptoms you're describing sound fairly serious. Whether it's related to hitting your head or not, this sounds like you need to see a doctor.
