Is it legal for a bank to sheriff sale my possessions in order to satisfy a car loan?
Question:
Almost a year ago, I was in a car accident where a car ran a red light and hit me. Both the person that hit me and myself did not have car insurance. I continued to make the car payments until I hit a financial hardship. I'm about three months behind and the place I borrowed from is threatening to sheriff sale other possessions in order to satisfy the loan. The car was the only thing used as collateral. My questions is if this is legal and if not, why type of action can they take besides ruin my credit?

Answer:
Yes, they can sue and get a judgment to seize and sell your stuff. You borrowed the money, you promised to pay it back, you promised to maintain insurance on the car. You failed to keep your promises, the judge will hand them a judgment in a New York second. You'd be wise to work out some arrangements with the bank.

Questions about what happens after beating Red Dead Redemption?
Question:
Can you have a farm/ranch with cattle and horses after beating the game? Do you ever meet any of the Characters again? (ex. Bonnie) Can you do anything cool after beating it? Is it possible to rob the bank in Blackwater? (the town where cars are in)

Answer:
*MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW, do not read unless you want the ending ruined for you* ********************************************************* ***************************************** The game ends with John Marston's death and you play on as Jack Marston his son, two years later. There's a short 'stranger' quest afterwards where you take revenge on your fathers killer. Yes you get to keep your ranch but it serves as nothing more than a place to sleep. All other characters seem to disappear. You can rob Blackwater Bank but the safe doesnt hold much worth stealing. It's the biggest disappointment in the entire game if you ask me, to have a character you grow to like replaced with his dweeb son. Your items all remain intact, they just switch avatars on you. Strange decision for the developers to have made. Hopefully if it ever comes out on PC then the sandbox ending can be modified to bring back John Marston.

Joke-a woman drives up to a bank in NYC in her hot red Rolls-Royce...?
Question:
...and she asks to take out a loan for $100,000. The manager is called out, and they reach an agreement. "What can we use as a collateral?" the manager asks her. "Well, I can leave you my Rolls-Royce until I get back," she says. "I'll be back next week." So they agree, and the bank workers carefully keep the car safe for the woman's return. Sure enough, the following week, the woman returns to reclaim her car, and repays the loan. With interest, she ended up paying about $25. "Excuse me, ma'am," the manager asks her when she is about to drive away, "but why did you do that? If you could repay it so quickly, you obviously didn't need the money..." The woman laughs. "Simple," she says. "Where else can you park your car in New York City for $25 for a week, and know it'll still be there when you return to it?"

Answer:
Yup... Parking space's a b!tch in NYC...

how does a bank dye pack work?
Question:
Just out of curiousity ... what type of pigment is in those bank robbery dye packs and what makes then explode? My friend witnessed a bank robbery yesterday and saw the moment one of the red dye packs exploded in their getaway car .... haha - that sparked the question

Answer:
It isn't the pigment that actually explodes. There is a small explosive encased inside the "brick" of money which is triggered by a radio signal in the doorway of the bank. At a specified time after the pack of money goes through the door the explosive detonates and distributes the dye all over the money, anything else in the bag the money is in, the person carrying the bag, their car, etc. Sometimes cool stuff happens. In one case the robber stuffed the money pack down his pants, when the explosion went off it burned his privates along with surrounding him with a cloud of orange dye. In other cases, the packs have gone off in cars completely covering up the windows making it impossible to drive away. One final point of trivia - the orange color of the dye is actually specified and unique to banks. That way money that is found with the dye can be positively identified as having been involved with a bank robbery. Private businesses (such as fast food places) that want to use the same approach have to use a different color. Bank robbery is a federal crime, robbing your local BK is not and that is why they need to use different colors.

Someone got a red light ticket via camera in my car in LA. What can I expect at the court meeting?
Question:
I live and work in San Diego, and have only been to LA a couple of times. I loaned the car to friend, one of his friends got the ticket and is gone. I have sent photos in and still have to go to court. What can I expect? Will my license be enough? or should I dig up phone and bank records?

Answer:
Expect a ticket. The owner is responsible. Take your checkbook.

Can you launder money through cars?
Question:
Say you have gained about $20k through whatever illegal means, and you don't want to deposit it directly into the bank and set off a red flag. Would it be safe (smart, good idea to not get caught) to buy an old car ( 69' camaro, 69' mustang, ect..) and fix it up; new paint, new motor, interior, everything it needs, and just turn around and sell it? and then report the earnings on your taxes somehow? Could it work to make the money legitimate ?

Answer:
Don't put the money in your account and just spend a little at a time. New TV, computer, groceries, eating out, landscaping, go on a vacation ,etc, etc. If it takes 5 years it takes 5 years. If you are going to continue accumulating money through illegal means, then you might consider starting your own business and funneling the illicit funds that way. One with high cash flow like a bar/nightclub or restaurant. You claim the illegal funds as legitimate income through your company and pay taxes on it. Your money is then clean. That is why nightclubs are so popular among high level drug dealers and organized crime. They are great tools for laundering money, There are ways to get around IRS audits, but I'm not getting into that. If you are serious, find a shady lawyer. They are not that hard to find. I have also heard of people claiming illicit funds as gambling winnings from a legitimate casino. You will have to do your own research on that method.

Joke::red Mini?
Question:
The convent had been presented with a new car, a red Mini Metro. Sister Lucy, the only qualified driver, became the chauffeur for all and sundry. Every Saturday she would drive Reverend Mother into town for the shopping. All went well till Bank Holiday weekend when the town was so packed with people and cars that it became evident that there was no earthly place to park. 'Don't worry, Mother,' said Sister Lucy. 'You go into the supermarket and I'll drive round the block until you come out.' Off sped the car, and Reverend Mother bustled round the store quickly, picking up all the necessary goods and then rushing back to the kerbside. There she stood for five minutes, ten, fifteen, twenty. No sign of Sister Lucy. Where could she be? Eventually Reverend Mother approached a patrolling policeman. 'Excuse me, officer,' said she, 'have you seen a nun in a red Mini?' PLEASE DON'T ANSWER MY JOKE WITH ANOTHER JOKE, DON'T WANT ANOTHER VIOLATION GUY'S.......IM ON THE LINE!
