Answer:

Going to a new school- do I need to worry about vandalism to my Jag?
Question:
I drive a 2002 Jaguar XJ8 Sedan (Blue) and I am quite possibly moving from a fairly friendly rural CO school to a Central FL school 7X as big (East Ridge High, I Think, Orlando). I am a popular person currently, but I am expecting to be less so there, and I don't know if a car that nice will be targeted (eggs on paint could cost me 3-4K$) Any tips/ should I not worry about it? What if I do get a window broken out or something-then what would I do? Thanks, Ian And I do not have comprehensive coverage. If I don't bring it to school, how do you propose I get there?

story i wrote when i was little...?
Question:
This is a mystery i wrote when i was little, what do you think? (this is one full chapter) constructive criticism please “I can’t believe your parents are taking us to Florida!” exclaimed Gabrielle, as she packed a light blue shirt into her suitcase. “Gab, you’ve known about the trip for two weeks now! Mom and dad said that you’re like a second daughter to them, so of course they would invite you to come!” said Autumn. It was summer vacation and the girls were in Gabrielle’s room getting ready for the vacation they’d be going on the next day. “I know, but I still can’t believe that my parents would even let me go, let alone pay for me and give me extra money for souvenirs!!!” replied Gabrielle. Mrs. Tezsula, Gabrielle’s mom, was a very strict woman. But after talking to Autumn’s parents, she had decided to let her come along to Florida with them. “Okay, I’m finished packing. Let’s go downstairs and get something to eat.” The two girls walked into the kitchen and Autumn pulled her long, dark red, wavy hair back into a pony tail, while Gabrielle got a snack from the fridge. “Do you want an apple or an orange?” asked Gabrielle, as she closed the fridge door and walked over to the table with a bowl of fruit. “I’ll take an apple, please” answered Autumn, taking a seat at the small, round table. After the girls ate their snacks, they brought Gabrielle’s bags over to Autumn’s house next door, and started up the stairs towards her room. “Autumn, your father and I are going to the store to buy some groceries to bring with us in the car,” Mrs. Leeves yelled up, “Will you two be all right while we’re gone?” “Yes mom, we’ll be fine!” replied Autumn, “You know, if we took a plane like normal people, we wouldn’t have to worry about things like getting gas and food!” Mrs. Leeves answered, “You come up with the money, and then we’ll consider a plane!” The girls heard the front door close and the family SUV pull out of the driveway. “I wish we could just take a plane, driving there will take almost two days compared to the two hours it would take on a plane!” Autumn complained to Gabrielle. “Well at least we are finally getting to go somewhere exciting! Honestly, I don’t care how we get there, as long as we’re getting out of this boring place.” exclaimed Gabrielle Gabrielle had been Autumn’s best friend ever since she had moved into the house next door, four years back. Since they were always together, their parents considered each other family. The girls walked into Autumn’s room, and took a seat on her bed. While Autumn started packing, Gabrielle looked around the room. The walls were a light green color, and were covered with pictures that had been taken while on vacations. Autumn loved photography and nature, but she also loved to solve mysteries. Ever since she was a little girl, she would help people find things they had lost, and as she got older, she started to solve more serious crimes. Before long, she was well known for her incredible talent as a detective. It was more of a hobby than a career though, because her true dream was to become a zoologist and care for animals in their natural habitats. Detective work was just one of the things she did in her spare time. Though lately, mysteries seemed to be finding her everywhere she went. Gabrielle on the other hand was more into sports. She was the captain on her soccer team at East Ridge High, and she was also in track. Despite her long, slender frame, she was very strong and energetic. Her hair was short, brown and curly and it brought out her light brown eyes. Besides sports, she loved to act and sing. She usually got the lead parts in school plays and good solos during choir. Because of her friendly personality, she had a lot of friends and got along with almost everyone she met. By the time Autumn had finished packing, her parents were back and it was time for dinner. The girls came down to the kitchen to find a pepperoni pizza waiting for them on the counter. “Thanks dad!” exclaimed Autumn, as she sat down to eat, Gabrielle beside her. “Thanks,” said Gabrielle, “And thanks for letting me come with you!” Mr. Leeves nodded a welcome and sat down. “So, do you girls have everything packed and ready? We’re leaving early tomorrow morning around seven.” announced Mrs. Leeves. “Yeah, everything’s packed.” replied Autumn, grabbing another slice of pizza. After dinner was over, the girls helped clean up and then went over to the living room to watch a movie. “What kind of movie do you want to watch?” asked Autumn, pointing to the DVD’s piled up beside the television. “Autumn, everyone knows how much you love those mystery movies, so put in whatever you want! It’s your house, I’ll watch what you watch.” replied Gabrielle. Autumn laughed and grabbed her favorite movie, ‘Inspector Heinzwick’ and popped it into the DVD player. As much as she loved solving mysteries herself, she also loved watching them. She could easily pick up on the

I have a question about NYC Street Parking Rules...?
Question:
I live on Ridge St. in the Lower East Side. A friend came to visit and parked there, it says that street cleaning is Monday but I just woke up and no one else moved their car! (It says street cleaning is Mon 9-10:30AM). I don't want to move the car because it is in a great spot, will I get towed or ticketed? Does everyone else know something that I don't about the cleaning schedule ? Please Help!

Answer:
Being that you wrote this today (December 31st), alternate side rules are IN EFFECT today. However the rules for tomorrow are "Major Legal Holidays", which is similar to Sunday rules. You won't get towed but you WILL get ticketed if you leave your car there. Move your car over to the Tuesday side of the street and you can leave it there and not get ticketed tomorrow.

HELP with Physics! Thank You. <3?
Question:
I've been trying to figure out the following problems for hours, and hours now, and still, no prevail. If anyone can help me with the step-by-steps, I'd greatly appreciated. Thumbs up to anyone whose answer helps. Thanks, in advance. =] Two cars approach a street corner at right angles to each other. Car 1 travels at a speed relative to Earth v1E = 29 km/h, and car 2 at v2E = 53 km/h. What is the relative velocity of car 1 as seen by car 2? ___________ km/h __________ ° (west of north) What is the velocity of car 2 relative to car 1? _________ km/h ___________° (south of east) A rescue plane wants to drop supplies to isolated mountain climbers on a rocky ridge 235 m below. Assume the plane is traveling horizontally with a speed of 235 km/h (65.3 m/s). (a) How far in advance of the recipients (horizontal distance) must the goods be dropped? _________________m (b) Suppose, instead, that the plane releases the supplies a horizontal distance of 425 m in advance of the mountain climbers. What vertical velocity (up or down) should the supplies be given so that they arrive precisely at the climbers' position? (Assume up is positive.) _________________ m/s (c) With what speed do the supplies land in the latter case? __________________ m/s

Answer:
For the first part it's just a matter of how you look at it. At first it may appear that the velocity of car 1 as seen by car 2 is simply 29km/h. However you have to take into account that car 2 is moving. Advice: draw a picture... seriously... do it lol you should see that it is a right triangle. The velocity of car 1 is 29km/h BUT, because car 2 is approaching car 1 it appears that car 1 is also traveling toward car 2 at a speed of (-)53km/h. So use pythagorean theorem: √(29² + 53²) = 60.4 m/s "west of north" (supposedly) and the same can be said from car 2's perspective: √(53² + 29²) = 60.4 m/s "south of east" which makes sense. Because 2 objects should generally always be approaching each other at the same speed. For the rescue plane problem. The first step is to find out how much time it takes for anything dropped from 235m to hit the ground. acceleration due to gravity = -9.8m/s² initial velocity (Vi) = 0m/s final velocity (Vf) = ??m/s time = ??s equation: acceleration = (Vf - Vi) / time -9.8m/s² = (Vf - 0m/s) / time Vf = -9.8m/s² * time then we need the equation: (AVERAGE velocity) = distance / time note that it is the average velocity. So if velocity changes (which it does) then you can average the values (by adding them and dividing by 2). So: (Vi + Vf) / 2 = distance / time use the value of Vf that we got above: (0m/s + (-9.8m/s² * time)) / 2 = -235m / time -9.8m/s² * time / 2 = -235m / time -4.9m/s² * (time)² = -235m (time)² = 48.0 (s²) time = 6.93 seconds So... when the "goods" are dropped they will be traveling at the same speed as the plane (65.3m/s). How far does it go in 6.93 seconds? velocity = distance / time 65.3m/s = distance / 6.93s distance = 453m must be dropped 453 meters in advance. Now we must solve it backwards for part B. It didn't say the velocity of the plane changed. velocity = distance / time 65.3m/s = 425m / time time = 6.5 seconds Now we need to know the initial velocity to give the "goods" so that it will fall 235 meters in 6.5 seconds. acceleration = (Vf - Vi) / time -9.8m/s² = (Vf - Vi) / 6.5s Vf = -63.7m/s + Vi then we again switch to the equation: (AVERAGE velocity) = distance / time (Vi + Vf) / 2 = distance / time plug in the value of Vf that we got above: (Vi + (-63.7m/s + Vi)) / 2 = -235m / 6.5s (2Vi - 63.7m/s) / 2 = -235m / 6.5s Vi - 31.85m/s = -235m / 6.5s Vi = -4.30 m/s <--answer: because it is negative you can say. 4.30m/s downward. Then to find the final velocity: acceleration = (Vf - Vi) / time -9.8m/s² = (Vf - (-4.30m/s) ) / 6.5s Vf = -68m/s OR 68m/s down Hope you got all that. I left out "Heroes". The movie I was referring to had Richard Burton. I am a freak about Eastwood. Thank you, sir, for sharing that story about seeing Clint at the awards show, and what he said to Michael Moore. I've been waiting all day to imbibe in some Jack Daniels Green Label, and I have something here rare on this site. You just shared it with me. It's 10 pm on the East Coast. /../; I'll tell you this, I never had time to see either of Moore's movies. 43 years from now, no one will remember that idiot, and no one will care...The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, that series is right around 43 now. Clint is the man, a gentleman, and a scholar, more than I can say for most recent popular actors. Thanks again.

Answer:
A good question but a little too much research needed in middle of Rangers and Mariners game. I was present for Clint's awards dinner at UCLA the other night though. During Clint's acceptance speech, he spotted the behemoth Marxist and fake documentarian, Michael Moore. He abruptly stopped and gave Moore the patented Eastwood look and then said, starring directly at that glob of treasonous s$hit. " I wish I would have been there when you pushed that crippled up old man around (Heston, during the filming of Columbine) I would have killed you". Hesitantly, the audience laughed, figuering it was just a joke. He paused and then said: " I mean it". Talk about some deliciously politically incorrect verbage!!!!! You just gotta' love Eastwood............Flynn
