my (automatic) car is in park. at a small slant. the gear is stuck. can not get it out of "park". front of car is facing the decline. tried to rock car back and forth-still stuck. tried putting a tire between front my car and behind a van, so that when the van reverses into my car there will not be any damage. van did reverse but still cant get my car out of gear. i am out of ideas. HELP!!

There should be a small plastic square next to the shifter (if it's located in the center console) that pops off. Once popped off (use a key or screwdriver to do this) there will be a small button, push it. It will be an override switch that should allow the car to move from P into R-N-D. Good Luck!

I'm in Bluffton, S.C. I have a 1 ton truck with a three car trailer. For most people you will haul for you have to carry a $1,000,000 liability which for my truck and trailer is about $6000 a year. I'm doing all i can do to make a profit but I wouldn't make it with a one car trailer. Maybe you can haul for your friends and make a little money but it's not going to be great.

Ways to prevent cars from driving up on a lawn?

My friend has a house that sits on a corner on top of a hill. People often cut the corner too sharply and drive up past the tree lawn and into the yard. Most recently someone drove right into her wooden fence. But these people must be drunk, because there is maybe 15 feet from the road to the yard where the fence is. They've tried reflectors and large rocks, but they just get run over. Any ideas? Thanks. I forgot to add that they can't change the fence--it's regulated by the neighborhood association that they all have the same wooden fence. They also can't do anything with nails (as much as they would like to!) because it's in a neighborhood with lots of dogs being walked past the house and small children playing.

Large rocks, about the size of a Great Dane. It will do damage to a car when hit, and they look nice if place right. Ask & explain the situation to the assosiation, they do make exeptions unless they're ruled by a dictator.

How would you display a jeep at a car show?

I am entering my jeep into a car show but it's my first time. I don't know what to do to display it or what to bring to make me not look so much like an ammature. How to find a mechanic?

My husband and I are new to the area. Both of our cars died at the same time. He needs a new radiator for a hyundai. I'm not sure what I need but it has to do with converter/oxygen sensor/fuel pump. They have a link which you can plug in your zip code to find recommended shops in your area by other customers. http://www.cartalk.com/content/mechx/find.html Mos t shops like to buy their own parts so they can mark up the cost for extra profit...if you buy your own parts, they may charge more for labor or not warranty the work.....all you can do is ask. If you buy the wrong parts, it can extend the time to do the repairs. You could also try calling AAA for any recommended shops in your area or talk to neighbors, people at church, etc...

HI its easy to figure out your self.... just divide the miles your going to Travel by your MPG that well tell you how much gas you will use the multiply that by how much gas is.. 553 mile to Travel / by 28 mpg = 19.75 gallons used 19.75 gallons used X $1.75 price per gallon =$34.56 good luck tim
