Questions Related to philadelphia, pennsylvania cars

Provided By Y! Answers

where do i obtain a car title in philadelphia, pennsylvania now that the original owner has lost it?

Answer:
You can contact Penndot to get a duplicate title. It may be easier to go to one of the various auto tag places like Imperial and fill out the paperwork and have them messenger the request up to harrisburg. It won't be difficult at all.

Answer:

Is there a seat belt law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?
Question:
I really don't know if I have to, legally, buckle up. I usually do anyway but sometimes I start going in my car without buckling up and drive a few blocks and then put it on at a red light or stop sign. I'm not sure if a cop were to see me unbuckled whether or not I would get a ticket for it.

Answer:
Same as the rest of Pennsylvania. For the front seat(which include you as the driver) it is a secondary offense, meaning they have to pull you over for something else. For the back seat passengers there is no seat belt law after 18.

i wanna know how long is it in car from kennedy international airport to pennsylvania (philadelphia)?
Question:
FAMILY TRIP (if know how many miles even better) thanks

Answer:
Go to mapquest.com and get the mileage/distance between the two points. Then figure if you drive the posted speed limit and only stop for gas, you would average about 50 mph. Divide 50 into the distance and you have a good guess of the driving time in hours.

Where can I find project cars for sale?
Question:
The farthest I could go is up to Harrisburg or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the west. Up to White Lake, New York in the north direction. Anywhere in New Jersey and farthest down south would be maybe Georgia. All kinds of salvage cars and projects. I'm looking for a 1967 Shelby GT500, doesn't matter what condition. I just want that car.

Answer:
Your chances of finding a real GT500 as a project are remote, there aren't that many of them around and the ones that are are almost all restored already because of their value. If you do find one in rough shape, it will still be expensive if it's complete and the numbers match, they are very valuable. You'd be better off trying to find just a 67 mustang fastback and replicating a GT500. If you do it right it can look and perform pretty much the same as a real one, but of course it will never be worth as much. If you want it to drive and enjoy though, that doesn't matter much. Actually you can make it better in many ways that the original by making it a "resto mod" using modern components like 5 or 6 speed manual instead of 4, disc brakes all around, EFI instead of a carburetor, things like that. Here's a good article on the subject: http://money.cnn.com/2006/07/19/autos/restomods/index .htm Sounds like a good project - good luck!

Answer:
The plane ticket will be only a couple hundred one way. However you can buy last minute plane tickets and they'll be cheaper

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to University Park, Pennsylvania?
Question:
I'm am flying into Philadelphia for a wedding in May. I am going to try and get Springsteen tickets for May 8 in University Park. Is there a train that runs from Philly to University Park or would I have to rent a car since they are over 3 hours apart? any advice? thanks

Answer:
I do this all the time as my parents live in State College. I don't drive, so I only know the public transit. You may find renting is the easiest, certainly quickest. (My sister does that when she visits.) There is no direct train from Philadelphia to State College. The Philadelphia to Lewistown train runs only once per day, leaving PHL at 12:42 pm, arriving in Lewistown at 3:46. On the way back, it leaves Lewistown at 5:09 PM, arriving PHL at 9:00 PM. If those times work, fine. The eastbound train is often late. However, the train drops you on the outskirts of a very small town. There's only one cab, but there is an Enterprise rental that you can call. DON'T get off at Lewistown and expect to take a bus to SC, the stations are far apart. Public Transit is easy. From the airport, take the SEPTA R1 Train to 30th street Station, about 20 minutes. Pick up the next Amtrak Harrisburg train, there are something like 14 per day. Grab something to eat at the excellent food court. Sit on the right side of the train for best views. At Harrisburg, either rent a car (none at station, but there are many in the area) or wait for the bus to State College. The bus and trains leave from the same station. Fullington Trailways bus times are 3:00 PM and 7:15 PM. Greyhound also has 2 trips, at 11:00 AM and 3:20 PM. You can also take Greyhound all the way from Philadelphia to State College. All the buses stop or change at Harrisburg, and the train trip is often cheaper, faster, and prettier.

i need help shipping a car from pennsylvania to lima, peru south america?
Question:
hello i need to ship cars from philadelphia,pa to lima peru south america do you know any cheap shipping cars or rate any recomendation and it' my first time so please help me ?????

Answer:
There is no easy way arround this. First of all, if the car is older than 5 years, you can't ship it to Peru (by Law). Second, when it gets to Peru you'll have to pay taxes (at least the 19% VAT). I recommend, if you still feel like shipping your car to Peru, to contact oa customs agent in Peru and see what pfreight companies they use. I would recommend contacting a big agent, like RANSA (AGENCIAS RANSA S.A. CESAR BALLON IZQUIERDO AV. ARGENTINA N 2883, LIMA, PERU Phone 1:420-1844 phone 2:420-1800 Phone3:420-0700) If you want other agents, I'm enclosing the list.

How can I find the name of the owner of a used car dealership in Pennsylvania?
Question:
The business was established back in 1998 -2002 and I've no information unless its legal name. It was a used car dealership in Delaware - Philadelphia. Who keeps the records for these businesses? Thank you for any suggestion.

Answer:
I think you said it's in Pa. Delaware county maybe? Anyway, if it is Pa the only place that will help you is in Harrisburg. The motor vehicle licensing agency will have the name of the owner of the ficticious name dealership. But will they release it? They should.

How much time can a car thief get in PA?
Question:
A 17-year-old was arrested in Pennsylvania for stealing a car. Philadelphia has locked him up twice before for car theft and once for institutional vandalism. This would be the third time he's been arrested for theft of a car. He's looking at charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. What kind of penalties/jail time could he face in addition to restitution?

Answer:
You are looking at multiple repeat felony charges, including grand theft. Being 17 probably won't mitigate the sentence much now. Could be 5 years- only other question is whether time gets served in juvi or adult lock-up.
