Has anyone ever been to a mountain top finish in a cycling event?

I want to attend the mountain top finish at the Tour de California, in Mt . Baldy. But i was wondering if there would be anyone who has done this before that can give me some info. Like do people usually stay at a hotel, or where do they park their cars?

Any major race with a mountain top finish attracts huge crowds. Not sure about California, but for major European races the roads are closed to cars the day of the event and people show up days ahead of time. You should contact the race organizer to find out what kind of arrangements are made. Parking on the side of the road may not be permitted, and you might be stranded for a day or more if there is a parking lot on the mountain. For sure, you can't just drive up a short time before the race and expect to park.

I'm not sure what you mean by "mechanical energy". There are two basic types of energy commonly discussed "kinetic" and "potential". Under the scenario you describe, you would have added potential energy to the backpack by raising it to the top of the mountain. Upon descending, you would have subtracted potential energy from it. So, if your question is to be answered at the end of the trip, the potential energy would return to zero, and that would mean the answer is "no". If your question refers to any instant in time, then yes, the potential energy increased on the way up and later decreased an equal amount on the way down.

Nope. Well, maybe, if you're prepared to do some really serious 4 wheeling. I went up there many years ago but I've heard you can't drive up there any way at all now, they closed the old roads. There is definitely no paved public road up Grouse.

will the cable car to the top of the mountain in tromso be working mid feb when i visit there?

It should be. It certainly was workign the year I went, and that was February. Have a gret time...Tromso is excellent. If you can, go cross-country skiing and also out on a husky trip.

you can not tell unless we know which one has the bigger petrol/ fuel tank other wise if they had the sam then the faster one would waste fuel faster and run out but if it's a short distance then its pretty obvious that the double powered car will go faster sorry if ia am wrong
