Is it worth it to ride 5 miles in a car and paying for gas for a free 3-day trip to Hershey, Pennsylvania?
Question:
Please tell me if you think it is worth it. I dont have to pay for hotel or theme park. I messed up on my question and i cant go back and change it. I MEANT TO SAY 5 HOURS. sorry!

Answer:
Hershey is alot of fun!! 5 hours isn't too bad. I regularly drive 3hrs to the Hershey area. If you are going at a time of year that the park is open and you like rides it is good. Or you can easily visit other places from Hershey - - Harrisburg, Lancaster, Gettysburg.

My lady friend wants to take a trip to Pennsylvania this weekend namely the hershey highway. What oil is best?
Question:
My girlfriend after thinking about it for a while wants me to take a trip down the hershey highway. . . what is the best oil for my. . ahem. . . car? I really need a good oil as my car is a stretch limosuinne!!!

Answer:
Wow, what a creatively deceptive yet funny way you ask this question...................... I guess the answer would be "KY" premium oil 10w30 to maintain maximum horsepower or the 10w50 for extended performance (for high "mileage"). And make sure it helps get rid of sludge, otherwise your car will be full of "sh!t.

Hershey, PA?
Question:
We are going to Hershey Pennsylvania for a few days. We plan on going to the Hershey Park, The Hershey Museum and the Hershey Factory. And to the Antique Car Museum nearby. Does anyone know what else there is to do there? Something to do of an evening maybe? Something that would not be featured on Hershey's site? Thanks for your help. BTW...I have already looked it up everywhere on the net. I just figured locals would know better than anyone else...or atleast someone who has visited. The sites just add whatever they are trying to sell or what people have paid them to put on there.

Answer:
I want to know too! My wife and I are going to go there in October! Wow, funny seeing that question there...We're from Michigan!

ANOTHER math question from me!?!?!?
Question:
Algebra 1: Problem 52a-d: 52. Rapid Rental car company charges a $40 renal fee, $15 for gas, and $0.25 per mile driven. For the same car, Capital Cars charges $45 for rental and gas and $0.35 per mile. a) Find the number of miles for which the companies' charges will be the same. Then find that charge. b) The Barre family estimates that they will drive about 95 miles during their vacation to Hershey, Pennsylvania. Which company should they rent their car from? Explain. c) What if the Barres have extended their vacation and now estimate that they will drive about 120 miles. Should they still rent from the same company as in part b? Why or why not? d) Give general rule for deciding which company to rent from. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO IS HELPING ME AGAIN!! I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!! AND THANKS FOR PUTTING UP WITH ME AND MY QUESTIONS!! lots of math. if you just dont feel like doing all of it then don't. I just need it all by sunday evening! THANKS!!

Answer:
You want the total charges to be the same. So since you know the fees, but not the miles. Let r = rental fee, g = gas fee m = mileage fee and x = miles So total charges r1 + g1 + 0.25x = r2 + g2 + 0.35x 40 + 15 + 0.25x = 45 + 0.35x 55 -45 = 0.35x - 0.25x 10 = 0.1x x = 100 miles Plugging back 0.25 x 100 = 25 40 + 15 + 25 = 80 0.35 x 100 = 35 45 + 35 = 80 So at 100 miles, total charges would be the same ($80) At 95 miles 0.25 x 95 = 23.75 Total 40 + 15 + 23.75 = 78.75 0.35 x 95 = 32.75 Total 45 + 32.75 = 77.75 So rent from second car company c. 0.25 X 120 = 30 40 + 15 + 30 = 85 0.35 x 120 = 42 45 + 42 = 87 So rent from the first car company d. If more than 100 miles will be traveled then rent from the first company; if less than 100 miles than rent from the second company.

SUPER Hard Math Problem?
Question:
THIS IS REALLY HARD! I COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT, HOPFULLY YOU CAN! GOOD LUCK! Rapid Rental Car company charges a $40.00 rental fee, $15.00 for gas, and $0.25 per mile driven. For the same car Capital Cars charges $45.00 for rental and gas and $0.35 per mile. a. Find the number of miles for which the companies' charges will be the same. Then find that charge. Show that your answers are reasonable. b. The Barre family estimates that they will drive about 95 miles during their vacation to Hershey Pennsylvania. Which company should they rent their car from? Explain. WHAT IF...? c. The Barre's have extended their vacation and now they estimate that they will drive about 120 miles. Should they still rent from that same company as in part b? Why? or Why not? d. Give a general rule for deciding which company to rent from.

Answer:
The gas and rental charges are fixed, so in one column you put the Rapid with 40 + 15 = $55. In the other column, you put $45 under Capital. Now comes the tricky part. If m is the miles driven to where the charges are the same, then $55 + 0.25m = $45 + 0.35m Rapid is on the left and Capital is on the right. There is only one thing missing, that's the mileage (m). You can solve for this like a regular algebra problem: 55 + 0.25m = 45 + 0.35m Move the m's to one side and the plain numbers to the other by subtracting the number from both sides: 55 + 0.25m - 0.25m = 45 + 0.35m - 0.25m 55 = 45 + 0.10m Now subtract 45 from each side to move it: 55 - 45 = 45 - 45 + 0.10m 10 = 0.10m Divide both sides by 0.10 and you get: 10 ÷ 0.10 = 0.10m ÷ 0.10 100 = m If you drive 100 miles, then the charges are both the same. $40 + $15 + 0.25 * 100 = $55 + $25 = $80. b. If they drive less than 100 miles, then they should go for the company that charges more per mile, but lower fixed fees. Think of if you were going to drive only 1 mile. Then the mileage charge wouldn't matter. Only the fixed charges would matter. The company with the lower fixed charges is Capital ($45 vs $55 for Rapid). c. If they drive more than 100 miles, then the mileage is more important. Think of if they were going to drive 1,000 miles. The one with the lower mileage charge is Rapid ($0.25 vs $0.35 for Capital). d. If you drive less than 100 miles, go for the one with the lower fixed charges. If you drive more than 100 miles, go for the one with the lower mileage charges. If you drive exactly 100 miles, it doesn't matter -- they are both the same.

Answer:
let m = miles cost of using Rapid = 40 + 15 + .25m cost of using Capital = 45 + .35m a) they will be the same when both equal to one another 40 + 15 + .25m = 45 + .35m 55 + .25m = 45 + .35m 10 = .10m m = 100 miles b) Rapid cost = 55 + .25 (95) = $78.75 Capital cost = 45 + .35(95) = $78.25 c) Rc = 55 + .25(120) = 85.00 Cc = 45 + .35(120) = 87.00 d) if driving more than 100 miles, use Rapid Rental

Starsburg, Pennsylvania!?
Question:
Does anyone else feel the same way I do about the Strasburg PA area. I go there every year with my mom, dad, 2 sisters and sometimes my brother. The area is so relaxing and beautiful. The people are the nicest people you will ever meet. I love being around the Amish people as well. They are so kind, and it's interesting to see how they live without electricity and cars. We go to Hershey as well. It is so awesome. The Starsburg area, has a ton of places to eat as well. The Red Caboose and the Family Cupboard are great places to eat. I love the beauty and relaxation This area is the best places I have ever been! Who else feels the same way? Ecsman you are an a$$ hole. You probably have never been there. It is one of the greatest places in the world. It is no different going there every year then some families going to Disney every year. Disney has the same stuff every year. You don't need to be so rude. If you don't like it there, then you can just say that you disagree. I don't care anyway. It is a special place to me.

Answer:
I feel the exact same way. I love the area it is so relaxing & the air is so fresh. The amish are the nicest people you will ever meet & their way of life is so fascinating. I always thought it would be cool to live their life for even a day. I also loving visting Hershey's Chocolate World, nothing like getting some delicious chocolate. Going their also gives me a great opportunity to stop for a minute & just enjoy & really get to spend some time with my family, whom i love soo very much. Their are really no words to describe how wonderful that place is. If i could pick any where in the country to go on vacation it woud definetly have to be Pennsylvania..Alot of great restaurants w/ great food & shops to shop at. Their is really no place like it.
