gresham, Troutdale, portland oregon people...wanna tell me about those cities?
Question:
i might be moving down to gresham to better my life with my father...can people explain what its like there? currently i live in everett (near seattle) wa. i wont have a car, but he says the bussing is GREAT in oregon. and if you live in gresham, wanna be friends when i move there? :/ is it fun in those cities? specifically, gresham. is it all country like, or what? is it easy to get a job there? im only 19, so im not talking about a career, just a full time job. even fast food.

Answer:
Gresham, used to be great, now seems like another country, (I'll let you figure that one out) I would NOT suggest it. It used to be country, now for the most part it is NOT. If your a young girl and it sounds that you are, have fun but be careful..You can always go online and go to KGW.com to get news on the area. Or go to the newspaper greshamoutlook.com.Troutdale is just north of Gresham and known for it's wind..Not too different than Gresham but nicer neighborhoods generally speaking. No Gresham is the ghetto....thats why I moved out of there, fact.

In Oregon, who cleans up roadkill?
Question:
My cat has been missing for a while, In Troutdale, Oregon - about 15miles east of Portland, and we live close enough to a main street that I'm concerned he may have been hit by a car and killed. I haven't seen his body out there, but it's been long enough that if he was hit on the road, his remains might have been picked up already. I've heard that the state people who are called out to clean up that stuff keep records of every animal they retrieve, but I don't know what organization I should be trying to find the phone number for, and Google searches have been useless. So, in Oregon (in Gresham/Troutdale, near Portland), who's called out to clean up that sort of thing? I'd like to call them to see if they have record of my poor kitty... Thanks very much, Dodo - I'll be waiting for an update!

Answer:
Give ODOT a call. If they dont do it they will definetly know of where you need to call.

My kitty is gone - who, in Oregon, would I call to see if he was cleaned up as roadkill? = (?
Question:

I haven't seen his body out there, but it's been long enough (9days) that if he was hit on the road, his remains might have been picked up already. I'd like to call them to see if they have record of my poor kitty, hopefully so I can rule out that possibility for now and keep looking, but I have to know. I know, it wouldn't really "help" to see it - I wouldn't go down and take a look. But to know if he is "gone for good" would let me get through the grieving process instead of exhausting myself looking for him all day, you know? I've done all the typical "lost pet" stuff - plastered the area with fliers, put in reports at the shelter and vets, plus he's microchipped. My mind's just flying through all the "worst-case scenario" stuff so I'm hoping I can get hold of a phone number to whoever keeps records of roadside animal cleanups, hopefully to rule it out of the list of "what could have happened."

Answer:
I don't really think it would help you to see your kitty all mangled and rotten. Jus know that he is gone and can't get back at the mo.

Would you read my story?
Question:
PREFACE 6 August IT HADN’T OCCURRED TO ME THAT I WAS considered an ignorant person. But then again I was too blind to recognize it. It hadn’t even been two months since my aunt and I moved to the small city of Gresham, Oregon, that my neighbors found me as being an ‘inconvenience’. Even while in the grocery store I found myself overhearing a frail lady, who had seemed to be as old as the earth itself, mention something about me. How did I know she was talking about me in particular? Maybe, it was the fact that I heard my name come out of her mouth or even the fact she referred to my aunt as being a very ‘self-righteous’ woman. Though I hadn’t done anything I wish I would have, because even though it might have not seemed like her comment didn’t faze me. It actually… hurt. Once I had gotten back from the store my aunt was already working, her new job to say the least was very time consuming. Some nights she would come at twelve o’ clock, other times she would come back as late as two in the morning. Though, I would never care either way, she hadn’t wanted to take me under her wing when my parents and brother where killed in a car crash. That could’ve taken my own life have it not been for some unknown stroke of pure luck. I guess she sort of felt bad for me, even if she hadn’t heard from my mother in years, she still had even a faint part of her that felt sympathy and compassion. Sarah. That was her name. Although, at first, I had considered numerous ways of escaping. Run away. Find a ride that I could hitch to the closest airport. But then. Then after that the plan was, well, … Unclear. So, I just decided to stay. Which of course, in turn --- seemed like a bitch. The only thing that kept me sane (if I still had any mentality left) was my willpower that one day, I might come to terms with everything that’s happened to me. I even hope that my being here has a purpose and if some unknown force in the world wanted me to be alive. Surely, I had some meaning on this dreadful earth- I stopped mid-sentence. What was I saying? Even though as to my disappointment at how my life had played out. I was happy I was alive. Sure, just from looking at me, you would think that I was a pitiful soul. That’s what everyone had thought about me when I first moved in, word traveled fast of my family tragedy and people within three blocks poured out of their houses and came to welcome us, then they would grieve over my loss. It hadn’t helped that it only happened some odd two years ago and after a while I grew tired of them coming, constantly bringing over food they thought would bring comfort to Sarah and I. The food didn’t really help. If anything it took up too much space in the small refrigerator we had. Plus with all those sweets I would be on a sugar high for months and if that wasn’t enough, they thought having get-togethers would make us compelled to having a perfectly normal life but to be honest, nothing was normal. No matter how hard they tried. We stayed resentful to their invitations. It was then it became known that we weren’t ever going to change our sappy mood. The strangest thing that I’d come to realize since I came here was that it sort reminded me of that movie with Nicole Kidman, it’s name surpassed my mind, but I remembered how it was like an alien world, where everyone was eerily happy --- all the time. Like a cult. Apparently in our neighbors’ eyes we appeared to be the next addition to this quaint little neighborhood, something told me that it was just my imagination what I’d considered. But then again, I’m never wrong. I then continued to write. …besides my mind is already swirling with the thought that I have to start off in a new school, in a still unfamiliar place. August 18, that day was burned into my mind, and with each closing day. It hovered closer and closer. My nerves were getting the best of me as well, not only was I in a place that I had even come to understand, I had to fit into the norm of waking up, getting on the bus, and pray that I won’t have drama the first day. St. Kuznetsov --- where there is nowhere to go but up! That was there slogan. Pretty cheesy I would have to say but I think I can get used to it. The other problem was would I fit in? Even though I wouldn’t care either way, I didn’t want to loom around the place like a ghost, lost and confused. I at least wanted to have someone, it doesn’t even have to be a companion, just someone I could complain to. Yes, I know how ignorant I do sound now, but that doesn’t really matter at this point. What What mattered was if I would comply to the rules and regulations. If so then I would probably kiss ass until I would be regarded as a sensible person, if not I would be known as that loser girl who they cheat off of in chemistry. There were a lot of if’s and I’s. Twelve more days that’s all I had and each minute I was bored to death, so what would my state be in just those twelve days? I would probably be boarding the lines of insanity. Though Gresham had a population 68,000 or more, their was particularly nothing to do and that was probably why we moved here. Because, nothing seemed to happen, terrifyingly boring to my disappointment. Laredo, Texas was where I truly wanted to be. A thousand miles away from home. A home where I had amazing friends that you could only find once in a lifetime. It seemed like when I left Laredo, a part of me stayed. That part was one that enjoyed life and its twists and turns. The adventurous side that was game for anything. I was even considering

Answer:
I think that you have a great start. I would check the grammer though, and sometimes I can't fully understand the character's personality. I got kind of confused at some points, so try working on adding more details and making it sound smoother. I don't think that you finished your last sentence either. Great job otherwise!
