where can i find good clean used carpet in grants pass oregon, need 1500 sq ft?
Question:
i'm working on a rental that was totally distroyed by the tenants. it took me 6 months to get rid of them and i have totally exhausted my checking and savings accounts trying to put it back together. the property itself was covered with blackberry bushes 7 feet high, and trash with broken glass everywhere. I took a 30 yard dumpster to haul all the trash, there was stench and dead rodents, and both the bathrooms floors were destroyed, one floor had mailing tape holding it together. there was a hole in the master bath floor all the way through, because the tenants were too lazy to buy a washer for the bath tub. They left vehicles behind as well, 3 cars, 1 motorhome and 1 trailer, all junk. the back door was destroyed and had to be tied shut by huge eye bolts they put in the frame of the bathroom. Thank you for your help. If anyone can help, i would appreciate it

Answer:
Try contacting lipperts or inkrote flooring, they may have some carpet that they are pulling out and may let you have for nothing or next to nothing.

What are some good fishing spots on Grants Pass OR.?
Question:
I just bought a fishing lisence, and my younger sister wants to go fishing. We don't have a car, so we would have to walk, and I was thinking Baker Park.... but I don't know where would be best. If anyone knows a good place then please let me know. Thanks so much!

Answer:
If you don't have a car then you don't have much choice of going anywhere but some place close to where you live. If Baker Park is the closes then just get out there and fish different spots around the lake. Hopefully you'll have some luck.

Know anything about grant money to replace an old junker car that won't pass emission tests?
Question:
Someone told me I may qualify to get grant money to replace my old junker with a hybrid. I can't find anything about this. Anyone heard of this?

Answer:
You think someone is going to give you a free hybrid for your junk car? I have heard of some areas giving small vouchers towards the purchase of a newer car, but it isn't going to be a free hybrid in trade for your heap.

Does the MVA grant extensions on car registrations if your car doesn't pass the initial inspection?

Answer:
Yup. They let you keep the car in your name, and whenever you get around to fixing the problems that caused the fail, they will reinstate your plates. Mva does not want to hear about your hard luck stories. They want their money. Can`t afford to fix your car? Then they will wait for 6 months until they cancel your plate. There are no hard luck stories that they have not heard. Or care about

How do I find someone to tow my trailer from Washington to California?
Question:
I have a 32 ft. Airstream TRAILER...weighing only about 6,500 lbs. I need someone with a good truck to tow it from Washington State near Everett, to Forestville, California, near Santa Rosa. (I'll drive my car). I need someone who is nice and well-referred. I'll pay for your gas, food and motel (2 nights)--- If you need more $$, please let me know. I prefer going down Interstate 5 to Grants Pass, and then over to 101 South to Sonoma County. I'm not rolling in money, but I want to make it right. If I'm out of line, please let me know nicely. Thank you. I realize whatever I need to pay for, it will be over & above the cost of gas/diesel .. right? So, $1.00 a mile, you meant the gas would have been extra right?

Answer:
Run an ad. When my father passed away, my mother and I were visited by a friend of my father's, who does that sort of thing for a living. I think it's for dealerships, not sure. But if I knew how to contact him, he might do it for you.

How not to pass the idea of being a slut?
Question:
Hey guys. I am 19 and I am in college. I have always had above average looks and a taste for clothing. It's not like I show off too much skin - no, not at all. I just like putting on flattering make up, having nice hair and dressing to the best of my ability. However, this gets me a lot more unwanted male attention. I don't go out a day where I don't hear some dirty old men yelling dirty things at me from passing cars. Even if I'm covered head to toe in a winter coat. I know it's best to ignore them. However, I have grown to be very, very, very lonely. I don't think I have a single friend. All I do is stay home, go to college, study and then back home. All because I don't have the guts to talk to people anymore. My nice looks grant me the label of slut all the time. So whenever I just sit next to guy because there's no other free chair in the room, he's gonna think I'm a slut. If I ask him to lend me a book, he's gonna think I'm a total prostitute. How to deal with this? Should I just start looking my worst?

Answer:
Stop wearing slutty clothing and you would stop being treated like one. I really do not know why this is so difficult for young women to conceptualize, but when you wear form fitting clothing and have your boobs and butt out in the open you are sexually advertising yourself and dressing slutty. It the same if a guy had his pecs hanging out and his junk showing through his pants. As for not having friends, this is a direct result of wearing clothing that draws people away and makes you the subject of fun. Knock off dressing the way you are and start opening up to people and this will all change. Unless you are happy with how things are going.

Can you use your financial aid grant to buy a bus pass?
Question:
I don't own a car and sometimes I don't even have enough for carfare to get to school

Answer:
Queen: The answer is "yes". Financial aid, including any need-based grants that you qualify for, are intended to assist with all of your "Costs of Attendance" at the school. Cost of Attendance includes direct costs, like tuition and fees, but also indirect costs, like textbooks, school supplies, and, yes, transportation to and from school. While financial aid is NOT intended to contribute to car payments, it can (and should) be used towards the actual costs of getting to school - which would surely include gas money for the car, or bus fare, as well. Bus fares are not only "okay", they're "expected". Good luck!

How to deal with a rude cop part 2?
Question:
Maybe I wasnt so clear my first time around. That whole me saying yes sir and him saying "Thats Officer To You!" was an attempt to show you his demeneour. Anyway, an undercover cop was driving on the highway and saw me passing cars. Granted, I was speeding, guilty. However, he did not have it on a laser so he took my license and said to meet him at the station. He put me in an interorgation room with three other cops, and the one who pulled me over kept screaming at me to admit to my crime, while the other officers threatned to just take me to jail. I would ask a question, they would tell me to shut the f@^*c up. One dumped my whole bookbag on the table while the other picked up my cellphone and started reading me text messages. I had my prescription medication on me and they accused me of selling them, calling me a junkie. I couldnt tell the cops not to go through my phone or bag. They where just very demeaning, threatning, rude and agressive.

Answer:
These cases happen all the time, cops are out there NOT to enforce the law but to ruin people's lives, contact your lawyer and take legal action, society must fight crooked cops

Help getting a 1974 Volkswagen to pass IM?
Question:
I just recently purchased a 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle. I knew ahead of time that this car had seasonal tags because it had failed the IM/emissions test due to a leaky exhaust. The previous owner said he thought I needed to replace the exhaust manifold/header to get the vehicle to pass emissions. First, does anyone know where I might find the parts so I can carry out the repairs? (I live in Alaska, btw.) Second, for those who are familiar with VW's or older cars in general, is there another reason you can think of that it might be failing IM? Also, when I have the engine running, there is a very strong smell of gasoline inside the car. Granted, the gas tank is in front and the engine is over the rear axles, but outwardly I cannot find any leaks in the tank or the gas lines. Unfortunately, the previous owner had the car sitting for a year with old gasoline in the tank. Any thoughts on rather or not these two issues are related? (i.e. is it getting too much fuel?) No "you're a girl, take it to a mechanic" comments, please. I am mechanically inclined and I do some of my own repairs on my truck. I hope to do the same on this car.

Answer:
I did quite a bit of work on the older VW bugs. (Used to live in Delta Jct/Ft Greely...was in the Army there) If I recall your muffler has two pipes coming out the back (unless you have the single pipe exhaust.) I would begin by looking at the connections bewteent he muffler and the heat exchangers. The heat Exchangers run along the bottom sides of the engine. Also check the connections from the exhaust ports ont he front of each head to the heat exchangers. There are gaslets in these locations that sometimes fail. As for the smell of gas. The fuel line runs down the middle of the car through the tunnel. THey usually don't cause problems. I would begin by looking under the rug inthe trunk on top of the gas tank to see if the gasket for the sending uit is ok. Next the fuel line from the bottom of the tank should be checked. There is a flexible section that may be dry rotted. DO NOT fool with the carb at this point. Rather follow the fuel line fromt he carb forward and look at the flex connection where the line enters the body of the car. There are about 3-4 places where the fuelline can rub a hole (tine split) and that may be your problem. When the emissions check was done it should have showed why the car failed. Yes...an exhaust leak will fail you, but was the quality of the exhaust (the contents) OK, or was it out of specification? Eric

How much, roughly, would repair on an exhaust leak cost?
Question:
My 2005 scion xB didn't pass inspection due to an exhaust leak. Granted, my car does sound a little like lawnmower when accelerating but so do vw's. How much do you think it'll cost if I needed, say a new muffler or exhaust pipe. It isn't that loud and I'm no expert.

Answer:
You can tell right away if its a problematic muffler or a manifold. It would sound like a lawn mower as you said. But not necesarily. It really depends where the leaauto zonef its a hole in the muffler, which just happens from time to time as its made of metal and metal will just rust out, you can go to autozone or the dealer and get one pretty cheap. I paid $50 for a brand new after market muffler and installed it myself with threaded U clamps and high heat resistant rubber gaskets. If its the catalytic converter, it could run up to $300-$400 installed professionaly. If its a rusted out hole in the main exhaust pipe, it could be resoved in a nice solid weld. Realistically, it shouldnt cost you more than $400 +/-. Also, if you take the car in, be sure you ask plenty of questions and any reputable mechanic shop will give you some safety glasses and a hard hat, take you into the shop and point to you where the leak is coming from.
