how come Elk Grove doesn't use the RT system? Question: Why did it switch over to E-tran system? I think it's lame...because if someone lived in Elk Grove and wanted to transport to somewhere else in the Sacramento area but does not have a car or wants to save gas...it would be hard. Also, why don't we have a light rail station? I live in Elk Grove, and I like using the light rail alot (I've used it a couple of times because Sac City College has a light rail station and me and my friends would use it to go out to lunch) because it's faster than a regular bus and safer than driving. Answer: RT does not have the money at this time to extend Light Rail into Elk Grove. I do believe in the future there are plans to do so. E-tran does connect with Light Rail, here is a link to their web site. http://www.e-tran.org/ |

Would you take an elderly person who is on liquid o2 and in chf, fibrosis of the lungs, dementia camping? Question: She wants to go to her property up north in Elk City area, and we live in Nampa, Idaho. She is on hospice care, and only has a few months left. I am worried that just the trip will kill her, and she thinks we are going to be able to fix the houses and have trees cut, things we cant do! I have told her that it would be nice to let her see everything again, but her dementia seems to be getting worse, and every weekend she thinks she can badger us into going to fix things we cant do right now. Are there any nurses out there with some ideas? She is not going to let this go, and its hurting all of us, we dont know what to do--she's only got so much time left. ALSO she might try to stay there, and its not liveable, we would have to put her back in the car omg! By the way, obviously we are worried if she should pass on during the trip! What do you do then, arent there rules about transporting a deceased person? Answer: |

Does anyone know the 18 rules of why westerners are better than city people? Question: Rules of Utah, Idaho and the Wild West are as follow> 1. Pull your pants up. You look like an idiot. 2. Turn your cap right, your head ain't crooked. 3. Let's get this straight: it's called a "gravel road." I drive a pickup truck because I want to. No matter how slow you drive, you're gonna get dust on your Lexus. Drive it or get out of the way. 4. They are cattle. That's why they smell to you. They smell like money to us. Get over it. Don't like it? I-80 goes east and west, I-15 goes north and south. Pick one. 5. So you have a $60,000 car. We're impressed. We have $250,000 combines that are driven only 3 weeks a year. 6. Every person in the Wild West waves. It's called being friendly. Try to understand the concept. 7. If that cell phone rings while a bunch of geese/pheasants/ducks/doves are comin' in during the hunts, we WILL shoot it outa your hand. You better hope you don't have it up to your ear at the time. 8. Yeah. We eat trout, salmon, deer and elk. You really want sushi and caviar? It's available at the corner bait shop. 9. The "Opener" refers to the first day of deer season. It's a religious holiday held the closest Saturday to the first of November. 10. We open doors for women. That's applied to all women, regardless of age. 11. No, there's no "vegetarian special" on the menu. Order steak, or you can order the Chef's Salad and pick off the 2 pounds of ham & turkey. 12. When we fill out a table, there are three main dishes: meats, vegetables, and breads. We use three spices: salt, pepper, and ketchup! Oh, yeah.... We don't care what you folks in Cincinnati call that stuff you eat... IT AIN'T REAL CHILI!! 13. You bring "Coke" into my house, it better be brown, wet and serve over ice. You bring "Mary Jane" into my house, she better be cute, know how to shoot, drive a truck, and have long hair. 14. College and High School Football is as important here as the Lakers and the Knicks, and a dang site more fun to watch. 15. Yeah, we have golf courses. But don't hit the water hazards -- it spooks the fish. 16. Colleges? We have them all over. We have State Universities, and Vo-techs. They come outta there with an education plus a love for God and country, and they still wave at everybody when they come home for the holidays. 17. We have more folks in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines than allof you put together, so don't mess with us. If you do, you'll get whipped by the best. 18. Turn down that blasted car stereo! That thumpity-thump crap ain't music, anyway. We don't want to hear it anymore than we want to see your boxers! Refer back to #1! Answer: This is amazing! And so true!!!! you rock!! |

If the 911 call isn't pointless to the person calling, should they still get in trouble? Question: Help Police, My Bunny’s Not Got Floppy Ears LONDON (Reuters) - Call the cops quick -- my new rabbit hasn't got floppy ears. It doesn't sound like a case for Sherlock Holmes but one woman decided it was worth calling the 999 emergency number when her new bunny did not match its newspaper advert description, according to Central Scotland Police. The force, which said on Monday it wanted to highlight abuse of the 999 phone system, also revealed that two callers had rung up within minutes of each other to complain about being splashed by a car driving through a puddle. "It is unbelievable that anyone should phone 999 to report being soaked by a passing car, ask for a postcode or report that the item bought from a newspaper advert was not as described," said Chief Inspector Alan Stewart. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080915/od_uk_nm/oukoe_uk _britain_bunny;_ylt=Ag2ajZw9ylkW4FsqL19doLrtiBIF Woman Mistakes Elk’s Call For A Fight, Calls Cops PHOENIX - It's a haunting, high-pitched scream that is commonly misunderstood by newcomers to Arizona's high country and the state's city dwellers. It's called bugling, and male elk do it to attract females and scare off other males so they can mate. The season just began and usually runs through the beginning of October. Those who've never heard an elk bugle often get confused and call authorities. A woman who lives in Mesa Del, a subdivision just northeast of Payson, called the Gila County Sheriff's Office early Monday morning to report a fight, saying she heard a lot of screaming. Lt. Tim Scott said responding deputies quickly realized the woman was really hearing elk. Scott said he's heard bugling at his home just south of Payson for the past five nights. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080917/ap_on_fe_st/odd_no isy_elk;_ylt=AiFf0QiD1D8DnBQvfZtqU3ztiBIF Answer: That all depends on the call...bugling elk in the middle of the night, much like a fox calling for their young, is somewhat creepy. Non-floppy bunny ears on the other hand will get a good laugh, but ties up the lines for someone who really needs the help. I wouldn't charge either person for abusing the "999" or "911" system, just smile and hang up. |

Together we can do this. Answer: You got the right spelling for some of them, but for many of them you only have phonetic equivalents. Kanji spelling for each word is fixed and you can't just create different spellings with the same pronunciation. Just like you can't spell English as Inglysh. You need to consult an English-to-Japanese dictionary to look for the right spellings for each one of them. |

How is it so far? (paper on saving wolves)? Question: Wolves need to be put back on the endangered list! Way back in the dark ages, the Bush administration lifted the endangered species protection that had been put on grey wolves in the continental U.S. Distressingly, the Obama administration has failed to reinstate it; despite there being only 1,640 grey wolves in the states of Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Wolves are starting to become extinct. I have three very good reasons as to why wolves should be saved: overpopulation, loss of wolf dog hybrids, and some wolves are killed for no reason. My first reason is if all of the wolves die out, the elk population will become overpopulated. Wolves are a very important part of nature. If we didn't need wolves, god would not have created them. Everything god has created has a use; even flies and ants. The hunters in the world are nowhere near enough to keep the deer population from overpopulating. "There is no better way to keep them out other than shooting them." Is what the hunters say, but I say there is a much better way. An electric wire fence is what you need; this would hurt the wolves, but not kill them. If wolves go extinct, it will be just like it was before they were introduced to different cities with woods near them, the deer will be way overpopulated and the wolves helped thin them out a bit. Before the wolves were introduced, the deer were so overpopulated that there were car-wrecks due to them running into the cities. Wolves are a very important part of the food chain, without them, a lot of disasters would happen. My second reason is there would be no more wolf dog hybrids. Wolf dogs are a very smart breed of dog that is normally used as rescue dogs. Wolf dogs are very intelligent and are smarter than the average dog because of their wolf side. I have heard of wolf dogs (hybrids) saving several lives in snowstorms. An example of one of these dogs is Shana. Shana saved two elderly people from a snowstorm. Shana was a half wolf half German shepherd hybrid. She caught the scent of the two people and started digging a tunnel. When she dug the hole she pulled the couple out of the hole and guided them back to the safety of their home. Shana was only able to catch the scent of the couple through her wolf side scent. If she was a normal dog the couple would not have survived. Only a wolf can find scents in the snow. My third reason is wolves are killed for no reason.. Wolves are not the fiends that myths suggest.. They are of the wild. They are free. They have families. They love... They play together. They take care of each other. But there’s a problem, they are dying. Killed with no sound reasoning, Other than the thrill of death, and greed. Some say it’s for their own good, and that they need to be controlled. So they are shot down, leaving only pain to those left behind. The wolf's cry, will become a mere memory if something isn’t done. I can understand killing them if you absolutely need their fur or meat but if it is just for fun. It’s wrong. Answer: |
