Driving with a suspended license?
Question:
So heres what happened. My sister went with my brother and i to walmart to buy a flat screen tv. When we were almost home we got pulled over and was asked for license and ect. My sister's boyfriend was driving the car. They asked him to step out of the car and then almost immediately arrested him. They said he had a suspended license and that they had to arrest him. They then called two more police cars. They told us that they were going to tow the car and when they were asked multiple times why the only response we got was "It's our policy". No explanation whatsoever. We were given some of our things including the tv in the trunk and was told to "Get the stepping" One of the other officers then slammed my sister's car door. She began fussing with them and stated that they only wanted more money out of them and they said "Yep". Then we were told again to start walking. We had to walk a quater of a mile up the street in the snow in about 20 degree weather with an 80 pound flat screen in hand with my sister's (my neice and nephews) children in a daycare that was about to close in about ten minutes. They said they didnt care and said that we would be arrested if we didnt leave. I REALLY need some help here right NOW. i have the feeling we were being discriminated against. ALL officers were white and we were African American. I know that isnt saying much but i have a feeling it has something to do with why they were so disrespectful to us. NO explanations & NO respect. We live in maple heights ohio. please help Um, try again. And this time can you read a bit more carefullly? I said we had to WALK. There was NO ride given. Just get out and walk. Wow Roger. That was amazingly simple. Know what else is simple? Actually taking the time to read and comprehend what i said. We were COMING from walmart. We did NOT know he had a suspended license. I am 18 years old and i have no license. Maybe you should stop assuming. You assumed we knew his driving history and you also assumed i drove without a license. Also there was no need for name calling my friend. It just shows your insecurity and how childish you are. And for future responders, THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE ARREST. THIS IS ABOUT THE CAR BEING TOWED AND MAKING US WALK A QUARTER OF A MILE WITH A 80 POUND TELEVISION IN 20 DEGREE WEATHER WITHOUT EXPLAINING TO US WHAT WAS GOING ON. PLEASE LEAVE A POST WITH ABSOLUTELY NO NAME CALLING PLEASE THANK YOU

Answer:
Playing the race card shows you have no other better defense. The cops don't owe you or me or anyone else an explanation. Besides, what explanation was needed? Couldn't you figure it out for yourself? Your friend was arrested, he was taken away and the car was towed. (standard procedure) . If you think you were treated unfairly, tell it to the judge.

Car Storage? For-freaking-Ever!?
Question:
My roommate moved out this week, under somewhat unpleasant circumstances. She has taken all her stuff (clothes, bed etc.) but she left her car. It has been in our driveway for 6 months – it does not run and she has made no arrangements to pay us a storage fee. Un-running car in the drive way was not a real problem while she lived here, but now that she is gone I am not sure what to do about this car. My first thought is to call a wrecker and sell it for scrap, but I don't have the title and I doubt this would be legal. We have asked her to remove the car several times with no result, I would imagine with her not being here she will be in no hurry to move it out of our drive way. (out of sight out of mind) So could someone tell me, how long do I have to wait to do something about it? Who could I call that could give me the answers? BTW we live in Cuyahoga County, Maple Heights, Ohio. Thank You for any help. the car is still registered in her name - but the tags have been removed.

Answer:
Send her a letter telling her she has 3 weeks to get the car out of the driveway. Keep a copy for yourself. Send it certified mail, return receipt requested. ALSO publish the notice in the newspaper Classified section for a full week. (Do not give your addrss in the ad! Just use her full name and tell her to get her car.) If, after that time she does not remove the car, have it towed away.

Opinions on my short story? unfinished?
Question:
Tell Me When You Go It was autumn when Ezra came back to me. The leaves had just begun to fall; released from their four-month perch on those dauntingly tall maple trees—the only kind that grows around here. They enveloped the sidewalks and streets in a blanket of yellow, orange, red, melancholy shades of pink. Despite the township’s best efforts to clear the streets, fresh spreads of leaves would sprawl the town mere hours after the leaf blowers’ nightly shifts. The leaves were endless, timeless. They were always up there, waiting for autumn to blow in so they could cascade back down to Earth, assuming their places at home. ************************ Our tiny, obscure town is known for its gorgeous autumns for at least a fifteen-mile radius. Well, probably less. There’s not much else around here, you see. The map taped above the back post of my mother’s bed says the nearest city is approximately 322 miles away, which she thinks would take days to reach in our ancient station wagon. She’s obsessed with travel, my mother. When I was little, she’d glance at me playfully across the kitchen table while she sipped her morning coffee and I nibbled my cereal, set down her mug on the bright blue coaster, and narrate her deepest, most intrinsic dreams. One in particular always made me think of a place beyond the sometimes cage-like walls of Tinsel. That one secret fantasy of hers was that, someday, the two of us would pack up and leave, go some place far, far away, where there were streetlights, cars, streets teeming with billions of people. It was all merely talk, though. My mother was far too timid, too apprehensive of the boundless world that surrounded her. She needed barriers, a clear outline of the world she lived in. Tinsel, with its radius spanning exactly three miles, its four shops housed in a sole building in the center of town, and that homey, familial sense of community created by the small population, gave her just that. Tinsel seemed to be encircled by an impenetrable sheen that rejected any word or influence of the outside world. It was simply frozen in time, everything right down to the bark on the maple trees and the very elderly residents perversely stagnant. The only thing that really did change in Tinsel were the seasons, bringing with each of them their own exquisite touch to the town’s lushly green landscape and brisk, willowy aura. I first met Ezra when he moved to Tinsel with his father from one of the big northeastern cities that sporadically dotted the outer corners of my mother’s map. He was a curious fellow, attracting the speculative eyes of my gossipy, narrow-minded classmates. His height, for one thing, caused the tiny, mousy sixth graders to cower in fear any time he strode down the halls. His abnormal legginess also forced the teachers into giving him the very back seat in every class, as to not obstruct the view of the equally intimidated front-row students. That, in fact, is the very way I came to know him. Saturday morning roused me with a soft, melodic birdsong drifting between the invisible cracks of my bedroom window. My mind was still submerged in the dreamlike haze of sleep. As the lovely, sweet song permeated my subconscious, my mind’s eye conjured an image of two birds nestled beside each other on a branch elongated outside my window. The pair bore a striking resemblance to one another. They both were swaddled in a silky sapphire coat, with sharp, darting black eyes the size of beads. One was caressing a trio of eggs in a manner of guarded protectiveness only a mother could possess. The other was perched beside her, his impossibly tiny orb of a head bent towards hers, as though he were whispering in her ear. They reminded me of a place I’d been to long ago, though, in my daze, I couldn’t quite recall where. I could suddenly feel a soft, warm hand twined with my own, its thumb caressing the base of my palm. The movement was oddly familiar, reminiscent of a way it had been held in a time now alien to the present day. I couldn’t quite remember how long these strange, surreal dreams had pervaded my mind. Every now and then a dream so vivid, so unequivocally real would invade my subconscious and leave its mark upon my memory, convincing me that fantasy had in fact been reality. Such was the case, so often did I imagine, with everything that had happened with Ezra. He seemed to belong to some parallel dimension where the most individual, exquisitely unique people existed. Ezra was a truly real, full person; he was always far beyond my reach. He wandered throughout the farthest corners of my mind; rarely did he ever surface to occupy an actual thought. Still, I thought of him often, wondering mostly where he was now, what he was doing, who he was with. Somewhere along the lagging passage of time, the incessant wanderings of my unoccupied mind ceased with the prolonged, elegant chime of the doorbell. “Sarahlynn!” my mother’s voice traveled

Answer:
That is truly amazing. I have rarely read anything so descriptive or elegantly written. I am a writer and the work I had so proudly displayed on my good paper can barely compare to this. If you have more, I would love to read that, too. That story is definitely going somewhere, and you should keep writing. One piece of constructive criticism I have is to make sure you don't use the same word, no matter how descriptive, twice near each other. It seemed a little awkward hearing radius twice, but the rest of the story made up for it. Keep writing, and I think you posses more than enough talent for a career in writing. Congrats.

What do you think of the beginning of my story?

Question:
Bury our Secrets. By: Kristina Maples && Taylor Hurst. Hayley Shay. "Why? Why god of all people? Me?!" I thought to myself as I kicked a can down the road on the way to my house. "I could have done something a lot worse, that's for sure," I said to myself as I looked at my Converse shoes brushing along the sidewalk. I thought quickly about the three schools that I've been expelled from and kicked the can harder in anger. I watched the tin can fly toward a crooked road sign reading Uttz Street. Trying my best to avoid my trashy family and house, I followed the more desirable piece of trash down the newly discovered street. I caught up to the dented pea can, thats been keeping my attention for the past ten minutes and noticed a change of atmoshere. Instead of the annoying sound of cars on the highway and the neighbors' sprinkler system, I heard, nothing. The calm feeling of this road was unnatural but it relaxed me so much. I completely forgot why I didn't want to be home at the moment. I followed the windy breeze to a shawdowed area next to a fence and sat down. "I like this place," I told myself, sitting quietly alone. A moment later I noticed the fence lead to a graveyard. As I stood up, I brushed the dirt and leaves off my black and pink pants and headed into the graveyard. Just like the street it's located on, the graveyard gave a calm since of feeling, I loved it. While walking through I noticed a lot of the graves were dated back to the early 1800's, that must have meant this place has been around for quite sometime. I looked down at one of the graves to read the name carved in it, when I noticed my shoe was untide, I reached down to tie it when I heard a strange noise in the distance. "Who's there?" I called out, I waited a couple seconds but nobody anwsered, "Maybe I'm just hearing things," I thought to myself, but then I heard it again. "Wait no, there it is again, that sqweaking nosie, where's it comming from?" I followed the nosie, which lead me to a park on the other side of the graveyard.I looked over the fence dividing the park from the graveyard and scanned the park for life forms, I looked over near the swing set and that's where I saw him, well I don't really know who he was, but he has to be the most beatuiful boy god has graced this planet with, yet, he was sitting on a swing, all alone. "Hello?" I called to the boy, I didn't want to be rude. The boy looked up at me, it looked like he had been crying, he didnt look a day over 12, but his body height and shape gave off one of a ninteen year old. The boy didnt do anything for quite sometime but look at me puzzled, I debated on weather I should go introduce myself or not. Right when i decided I would he got up off the swing and ran away, he must have been shy. I don't know why but I feel like I have met him before. He looked just like a boy in my one of my old schools, but that's impossible, right? All my old schools were in completley different states. I didn't relizes how late it was until it started to get dark. "I better get home, I'm already late as is. No need to give the old man something else to bitch about," I thought to myself. I kinda wished that I was saying this to the boy from the park, it would have showed that we had a conversation. It only took me ten minutes to get home, but it was already very dark by the time I did. "Hey mom, where you going?" She was coming out of the door just as I was going in. "Work, I do have a job you know?" She just gave me a look of disgust like I shouldn't have been asking dumb questions I already knew the answers too. But with how often she goes out its hard to guess where she's really going. " You're father is pretty pissed, you were supposed to be home 2 hours ago, " Again she gave me another one of her looks. "Mom, just go. I can handle dad, I do everyday. Im sorry I was late, I just got distracted," I told her while handing her her car keys from the hook. "Like I actually want to be home anyway," I said under my breath. She tryed saying something else, but I was already shutting the door , stepping inside and preparing for the yelling. "Hayley?" I heard dad call. "Yeah dad," I called back as I took my shoes off and put them in the closet. " Where the hell were you? It's 11:30, you were to be home two hours ago." Dad screamed from the living room, he didnt even bother to stop watching tv to yell at me properly like he normally does. " I already have had this converstion with mom, but if you must know, I got distracted, okay?" I yelled on my way to the bathroom, which was closer to the living room then I ever wanted to be right now, but I had to pee like a race horse. " For two hours? I don't believe you! What the hell were you really doing?" He yelled, the bathroom walls made his voice echo inside my brain and I wished I could just turn him off. " None of your damn bussiness, why the hell can't you just leave me the hell alone, Brandon! I havent got i “ For two hours? I don’t believe you! What the hell were you really doing?” He yelled, the bathroom walls made his voice echo inside my brain and I wished I could just turn him off. “ None of your damn bussiness, why the hell can’t you just leave me the hell alone, Brandon! I havent got in trouble since we moved here, and I Definitely havent given you any reason to think I have?” I screamed as i ran to my room. I didn’t feel like giving him enough time, I slammed my door shut and locked it. Right before I started blasting my music to drown out his annoying head throbbers, I heard him yell something about how I should respect him because he’s my father. He’s not my father he’s just an asshole. Why the hell do I have to go through this, why couldn’t I have a better life.
