What is the abandoned vehicle law in Hamilton Ohio?
Question:
whats the law say about cars sitting on the street any links would be helpful

Answer:
It is controlled by municipal code and Hamilton Ohio does not post theirs online, you can contact the city clerk and they will have a copy or you can call the local police and they will tell you what I am. If the vehicle does not have insurance, is inoperable, or it is not registered with a current registration it is considered derelict and you can be cited along with the vehicle being towed and impounded.

How does one go about getting Business Insurance (state of Ohio, City of Hamilton)>?
Question:
My wife is going to be starting a Psychology private Practice LLC in the state of Ohio, Butler County, city of Hamilton. She has already obtained malpractice insurance, but she also needs business insurance. So, my questions are: Does the Agent that sells me my homeowners and car insurance sell business insurance as well, or is there a specialized Agent we will need to contact? Are there any Web price comparison/online Application sites that can be used for business insurance? Answers from anyone with knowledge on the subject is appreciated!

Answer:
It's possible you current "all purpose" agent can help you but you really would benefit by getting an agent experienced in the advanced business markets. The average agent may run across two or three of this kind of situation a year. The specially trained and focused agent often handles hundreds of these. Kind of like choosing which level of experience you want for your surgeon. Look for the credential of either ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) or CFP (Certified Financial Planner) behind their name. This kind of business insurance is a pretty narrow and sophisticated market so I know of no internet sites where you can go. You can however do a search for qualified insurance agents in your area. Even a new clueless agent can get help and muddle through this but if you can get a pro, I would. Good luck with the new practice.

Juvenile speeding ticket, Hamilton Ohio?
Question:
17 years old, first ticket of any kind. Clocked me at 94 in a 65, I was in the passing lane trying to get around a line of cars, no excuse, but that was the situation. It's under 30+, so I don't think I'll get a misdemeanor etc. but what should I expect? I know I have to go to court, but I was wondering how long it would take to get the court date? How likely is suspension of license/class?

Answer:
..... 94 in a 65. I hope you lose your privelige to drive for a LONG time!

Is this a Violation in Hamilton County, Ohio?
Question:
I haven't been able to find an answer to my question in the local ordinances where my parents live. Basically the problem is that the is a man that has moved into my parent's neighborhood that has just been an absolute nuisance. He has 7-8 vehicles that are taking up parking spaces on the street, block driveways to other properties; he leaves equipment such as ladders, extension cords, etc on his lawn or leaning against said cars parked on the street. He will even leave his vehicles in a terrible state of disrepair with no tags. This has been a nightmare for my parents seeing as they have to leave their car constantly parked on the street to keep their spot because if they don't, this guy might bring another car out to take their spot. My father's car has even been scratched and the tires slashed. The police won't do anything because there's no proof so what I am asking is if it's a violation to have that many vehicles in Hamilton County (OH) because the police don't seem to care. By the way, talking to the man did not help at all. He ended up punching my father who is 62 years old and spitting in his eye. And I'm not worried about what's in his yard, I was adding details of what the guy is like.

Answer:
There are State laws regarding junk motor vehicles. They can not be left laying around for longer than 10 days (unless they are a "historic vehicle"). Check Ohio Revised Code 4513.65 Willfully leaving junk motor vehicle and Ohio Revised Code 505.871 Removal of junk motor vehicle. You can Google them. Check with your township zoning office, there might be a zoning violation they can look into. As far as punching your dad, I am sure you already know that's assault, and a criminal complaint should be filed.

I need to find a home for a cat?
Question:
Ok, we have a cat that we cant care for anymore. She's fixed and is litter box trained. She needs a home that is quiet, preferably with someone single, or someone older. She has a slight stress disorder so if she gets upset, she loses her fur. Shes a kind, gentle cat. I live in hamilton ohio, and she cant take very far car rides because they scare her, so its preffered if the person that wants her is closer.

Answer:
Put her on petfinder.com and most likely someone will adopt her who cares for her.

What are the specifics for providing proof of insurance when paying a speeding ticket, in Ohio?
Question:
I'm 19 years old, and just got pulled over in Hamilton County (not the county I live in) 2 weeks ago for a 79 in a 55, and receivied a $104 speeding ticket. I am already late on paying it, but have been told as long as I pay it before the warrants been out for 30 days, I just have to pay $45 extra for court costs of not appearing. The reason I have yet to pay is that I recently found out I wasn't insured at the time I was pulled over. My grandparents had been paying my insurance and didn't inform me they stopped paying the month prior, because I moved out of their house. I was driving my Mom's car, which she has a policy on, and I'm wondering what I should do. I'm going to send the money in the mail, should I send my old insurance card, will they check to see if it's valid, should I send in a copy of my Mom's policy for the car I got pulled over in, or should I send the check with no proof of insurance and hope they won't push the issue any farther, since they got their money?

Answer:
Your mom has that same vehicle insured? Take them the proof of insurance that she has that vehicle insured so you won't get busted on driving a vehicle uninsured. I don't know Ohio laws that well, however, and don't know if they have a penalty for you yourself not having insurance.. some states do, but I'm wanting to say that Ohio isn't one of them. And oh my god, DO NOT give them the old card and pretend like your insurance isn't cancelled! They -will- check and Ohio actually uses an insurance database where they can see not only that it was cancelled, but when. Presenting an insurance card for a policy that is actually cancelled as if it was not is actually fraud. You don't want to play around with that.

Was this one of the most exciting race weekends in awhile?
Question:
First we had the qualifying drama in F1 and another win for Hamilton. The NASCAR Busch Series race at the Canadian road course was exciting and controversial. The IRL race had a horrific crash and exciting finish between teammates. Kurt Busch had one of the most dominant cars in recent memory in NASCAR's Nextel Cup Series. The rally racing in the X games was pretty neat and not without it's own controversy. I also watched a little motorcycle racing (AMA superbikes at Mid Ohio) that is always exciting. I'm sure I missed some other stuff but what a weekend! What's the BEST whole weekend of racing YOU remember?

Answer:
This weekend was pretty much a bust... I didn't get to see any races on saturday because of being at a softball tournament all day, which our team won, then sunday, Pocono was pretty boring because of Kurt having such a dominant car.. There was nothing really there to keep interest. No one could catch him, and all in all nothing happened the entire race... The best part of the weekend was Bonds tying Hank Aaron and the Steelers/ Saints exhibition game.

Answer:

In a case of underage drinking party, what do you think should happen or do you have an example you can share ?
Question:
I have one and I think it is ridiculous how the Hamilton County,Cincinnati,Ohio sheriff;s department handled it. I got a call at about 1:30 in the am on a Friday night. It was my 17 yr old son. He was at his Dad's house and there was police officer that wanted to talk to me. Not a good sign ! The police officer got on his cell phone and informed me that there were several kids at the residence, all drinking. The police officer on the phone told me that they didn't want to leave my son at the house because he was unsupervised. I said I would be there to get him in like 20 minutes. When I got there, there were 7 police cars. Some of the kids that were there ran up in the woods behind the house. The cops had dogs out and everything. My kid didn't run,he was sitting there in his Dad's house with 2 sheriffs when I git there. I asked the officers "what did you do with the other kids?" They told me that they checked their ID's and they were all 18 or older(but NONE were old enough to be drinking) so they told them all to YES, get in their cars and leave !! So,yes, they called me and told me to pick my 17 yr old (unsuoervised) son up.Who was not driving and was at his Dad's house but they told the kids who were there, drinking and driving ,to get in their cars and leave ?? I am confused ! There were other kids there that I know were not 18 or older, wouldn't you think that the police would have called their parents and informed them that they were at an under age drinking party ? Would you thingk that all the other kids would have been arrested for drinking under age and their cars towed in? I mean seriously, I couldn't beleive it ! My son was drinking as well. But in Ohio the law is, a kid under 21 in Ohio IS allowed to drink in their own home. I don't approve, but I knew my kid would drink. I just can't believe out of ALL those police officers,NONE of them arrested any of those kids, even my own kid. What kind of message is this sending? Scott:Don't get me wrong, I am not a police hater, quiet the opposite. And yes,I agree,my son's Dad very well should be arrested if he allows that at his house,if you noticed I even said I would have thought they would have arrested EVERYONE there, including my son. In this case, I feel the police did NOT do their job ! They had several kids right there that were drinking under age at a house party. The Dad was not there at the time. Obviously the kids were in the wrong,ALL,including my son. WHY would those police officers send those kids off in vehicles when they knew that they had been drinking ? Excuse me, that IS their job to try and stop that. They stood right there in my ex husbands house next to my kid and offered me to come in the house and see all of the evidence of drinking yet they sent kids out of there in cars?? I picked my son up,i had no problem with that. But I do have a problem with trying to fight the underage drinking myself and you have 12 plus cops allowing it. Shogun: Did you actually READ any of what I said here? A)the parent wasn't home B) I agree, parents are liable C) the cops ALLOWED underage drinking teenagers to leave the house in their cars DRINKING D) If the parents were not home and the cops showed up and they don't want to leave MY kid there because he is unsupervised??What the heck were they doing letting kids drive off in cars that were drinking? E) the cops were not "cutting a break" they were being flat out stupid and irresponsible ! Britt : nope, in Ohio it is legal for a kid to drink at their home with a parent or even sometimes on any private property. Trust me, I have looked it up. And by the way, my kid did get in trouble and is in a "stay house" for two weeks. I did point out that I am trying to fight the underage drinking problem. I have done what I can but I feel that these police officers dropped the ball here. They had a perfect opportunity to make a huge statement and they didn't ! Not at all. I don't think in this case they should have "cutc' anyone a break. Not my kid, not his Dad,not me. I wouldn't exspect it. I think everyone of those kids should have been hauled off in a cop car. I think theur parents,if under 18,should have been made aware. This is exactly the reason WHY we have so many problems with under age drinking !! Caleb: I agree with much of what you say. i know police are only human and i know that they are there for you when you need them. I will say again, I am not someone who "dogs" on police! Quiet the opposite as I said. I love the police and they have been there for me when I needed them. But on this occasion I am very disappointed. In all there had to be at least 10 police officers there. But quiet frankly,I don't know why. They were at an under age drinking party and arrested ONE kid. In Indiana last summer I read on head line news about a underage drinking party out in someones feild. The cops went out to the feild and arrested dozens of people and had them all doing public clean up for a few weeks.

Answer:
I would have arrested the father of your son. It is not the Officers fault here it is the person that had the party and allowed the under age kids to drink. The Officers handled the incident in the manner they did and I was not there so I can't comment further. Your son is probably considered a juvenile by state law and they either could not find the father or decided he'd done a bang up job of taking care of him so far and did not want to leave your son in his care any longer. However, the true criminal here is the person that allowed the party (the dad). Be mad at him not the Police.
