Why would a police officer shoot a chained-up watchdog over water ballons?
Question:
A Garfield Heights police officer shot a chained-up watchdog that lunged at him as he chased a group of kids through backyards, a police spokesman said. Police responded to a call to Turney and McCracken roads around 6:30 p.m. today for a complaint about a group of kids throwing water balloons at cars. When police arrived, the kids ran and the officer chased them. In one yard, a large watchdog, chained to a back porch, lunged at the officer. The officer shot the dog. The dog survived and was taken to a pet hospital for treatment. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2007/04/... “And we are supposed to rely on these people to ‘protect’ us?” I don’t. You can count on the police to collect some evidence against the perps, if possible, draw chalk lines around the bodies, and call the ME. But don’t count on them to be able to “protect” you from anyone who wants to harm you. You have to assume that responsibility.I can hear the cop explaining this. “I shot the dog because I feared for my safety. I didn’t know if the chain was enough to hold him. I then went into the next yard that the kids ran through, and I could hear a dog in that house. I didn’t know if the glass doors and windows were enough to hold that dog back, so I entered the home and shot it too. Then, the homeowner yelled loudly and took on a threatening demeanor with some object in his hand, so, yep, you guessed it, had to drill him too. And that’s how it went down, three justified shootings. A darn shame those water ballooners got away. It’s kinda hard to live with myself knowing they’re still out there on the streets somewhere...”

Really struggling with my life?
Question:
Is there anyone out there or any organization that can help me pay off my block on my license even though I never had them. I got a car in my name for a friend I know I should 't have done that, but I was simply trying to help a friend out, and know I have a block on my license I've never had my license, but I've had my temps and when I tried to go get my license the license bureau in Garfield Heights, OH told me there was a block on my license I had to call Parma who then gave me the number to the Cleveland Mencipal Court's told me how much my fine was it is $320 dollars but the thing is I do not have a job and I really need to get my license because I have a two year old little boy, and I am really struggling with my son I don't even know where he is going to get diapers from while I try to raise him the best way I can. I never knew it was going to be this hard raising a child especially when I am a single parent. It was supposed to be the three of us, but that's a whole story I would rather not get into on here. Please if there is any organization out tthere that can help me I would glady appreciate it.

Answer:
Go to legal aid, you can find them on your local court web page. You need to file a petition with the court that blocked your license, and request a hearing If someone else screwed up your license, and you can prove this, then any judge would at least waive the fine, or possibly expunge it. But be warned, the judge may also require you to turn in your "friend" so the punishment can go to the proper person. Its worth a shot, and besides, anyone that did this to you is not a friend anyway. If you have no money, the process of appeal is usually free. You have nothing to lose.
