hey can someone read my college essay for Ohio State? Thanks?
Question:
There is a 300 word limit, this is exactly 300 words. OSU is my first choice. Give me whatever criticisms you would like, dont be afraid to be honest. There are many reasons that I want to attend The Ohio State University, so many that you cannot count them with ten fingers. One memory stands out to me, however. When I was in the fourth grade, my dad took me to my first Ohio State football game. The sea of scarlet and gray in the Horseshoe threw my mind into an unbelievable state of amazement, my eyes bulged with every touchdown. The Buckeyes defeated Washington State and feeling of Buckeye unity in the air told me that Ohio State was the place for me. As I heard the Victory Bell ring out over campus, I began to feel at home with each of its triumphant tones. My dad and I make an annual trip to Columbus for an Ohio State football game. During those car rides, my dad recounts his fondest college memories to me as we pass through towns like Delaware and Ashland, encouraging me to become a Buckeye, as he did in 1974. It is more than football and tradition that have aroused my desire to attend Ohio State. Ohio State holds opportunity for every applicant, offering majors in almost anything one can think of. Ohio State’s high freshman retention rate tells me that people come to OSU and find that there is something great for them, whether it is academic or social. One day, I hope to attend a top-tier law school. The Moritz College of Law is one of the finest public law schools in the nation and it would be an honor to become one it’s graduates. In conclusion, it would thrill me to spend the happiest years of my life at OSU. Ohio State will always be a part of me, even after I am no longer a student at my beloved university. Thanks! Jon

Answer:
At the end, don't say "my" on "my beloved university," replace it with "this", but other than that, it's pretty good.

Can i get some feedback for my Ohio State application essay?
Question:
Hey so OSU is my first choice. There is a 300 word limit and this is 298. I posted this question a while ago but I have made a few changes since then and I would like some more feedback. Tell me whatever you want, dont be afraid to be honest. Thanks From an early age, I started to think about my future. Much of my childhood comes back to me with memories painted in scarlet and gray. When I was in the fourth grade, my dad took me to my first Ohio State football game. The sea of red in the Horseshoe threw my mind into an unbelievable state of amazement, my eyes bulged with every touchdown. The Buckeyes defeated Washington State and feeling of Buckeye unity in the air that was shared by 105,000 people, told me that Ohio State was the place for me. In conclusion, it would thrill me to attend OSU. This beloved university will always be a part of me, and I hope my passion for it will carry on through many happy and healthy years. Thanks again, Jon

Answer:
Jon, Without rewriting this for you, I would say you could clean up the imagery a bit. I suggest you ask a couple of the English or journalism teachers at your school for some advice. Start your first paragraph with the last sentence of the first paragraph. Then say something like, "Since I was 10 years old, OSU has been a part of my future plans.,,,In fourth grade my dad took me to my first OSU game. The scarlet and grey defeated Washington State and along with 100,000 others I was swept away. With every touchdown my pulse raced and my throat grew hoarse with cheering. As I heard..... good luck Your second paragraph needs a better last sentence.

Does this e-mail sound okay to send to a publisher?
Question:
I am writing a story and want t published. here is the e~mail I am sending to the agent I want. Feedback! No haterz! Dear Cynthia Lewis, I am an 11 year old girl named Jenia Kleinholz and I live in Ashland, Ohio and I would like to publish my novel that I am writing. This novel is called The Last Rose. It is about a girl that is in love with her older brothers best friend, but she will not admit it to him. One day, both of their families are at the beach and he confesses his true feelings for her and she confesses hers for him. They go on a first date and at the end of the night, they agree to see each other again. One day, Callie Ebert, the main girl character, decides to enter a local beauty pageant. At first her parents disagree, then agree so she goes to the pageant, wins second place and is rewarded with a bouquet of flowers from John, her boyfriend. He says that when the last one dies, it means that his love for her is gone. Over the next few days, all of the flowers but one dies, and she then realizes that the rose is plastic. The rose will never die and his love for her is undying. A week later, the Ebert family gets a call from John's parents that says that John was killed in a car accident, and that he died on impact. He was on his way to pick Callie up but never made it. Callie goes into deep depression and hardly talks at all. She then realizes that if he was there he would have told her to move on with her life. She then remembers what he said about the roses. She went on with her life, but a month later realizes that she has all of the symptoms of pregnancy and that this is the time that she needs her family the most. She talks with her family and decides that she will keep the child because that is what John would have wanted her to do. She later gives birth to the child and drops out of school and starts working three different jobs to be able to pay for baby toys, diapers and all of the necessities for the baby. She eventually falls in love with another guy and marries him and has another kid, but always has John in her heart. Please e-mail me back on if you would want to help me publish my book or not. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Sincerely, Jenia Kleinholz

Answer:
Well try sending her a piece from the story and break your email into paragraphs. A publisher wont take you seriously if she receives a big chunk of writing and she won't take you seriously but I love your story and I would like to read more of it. Don't give away too much of the story as well you will like to keep a bit of it a secret. Are your parents aware of what your doing? If not then don't take the risk of you know..... Doing something your not be supposed to be doing. You sound like a lovely girl and like I said i would like to read more of your story. Good Luck with the publishing!

I can never get a straight answer?
Question:
My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Kentucky My name is Kelly. I live in Russel Kentucky. I am married and I got married in December of 2011. I work in Ironton, Ohio at subway and my husband works in Ashland. Here is my problem. I need a drivers license. Like I said I work. and its not very close to where I live. My husband drives but there is no way that we can continue rushing for us both to get to work on time with only one driver. I am not in school, more did I graduate and according to the no pass no drive law in Kentucky minors can not obtain their driver's license without being in or finishing school, or getting a GED. But there's no way I could get my GED without a license due to our work schedules. Anyway, I just moved to Russel which is in greenup Co KY. I moved from Ashland KY where I called the Boyd Co courthouse which is where you get your permit up here. and I told them my situation and I also told them how my husband should be leaving. for the military and I would have no way to get around. She told me it was fine and because I was marries the no pass no drive law didn't apply to me. So the next day I go in they told me my husband couldn't sign for me (because I'm a minor someone has to sign for me) and then informed me. since I live in Greenup Co I had to go to that courthouse. So I called the Greenup Co courthouse and some lady told me that I would not be able to get a license because of the no pass no drivwlaw. None of this is making sense. I have my own place a job a car a husband but I can't have a license. I don't believe this is true. The experiences I've had with courthouses here have not been good. Every times I speak to a different person I get a different answer. Please help me. I'm just trying to make it in life. Sorry if anything is misspelled. I'm using a very complicated phone. I thought I had it on there. I'm 16 by the way. GASP! I know. but anyway. I can't find anything online that could help me obtain a GED. and that's not very expensive. I'm just starting out, remember?

Answer:
Not a simple question... From this site... http://transportation.ky.gov/driver-licensing/pages/no-p ass-no-drive.aspx This would appear to be the key question/answer. Q: If a student has already dropped out, graduated from high school or is working on their GED and is 16 or 17 years old, what do they need to take to the clerk offices to obtain their permit? A: The regulation states that a minor shall submit to the clerk one of the following: proof of graduation from high school, proof of having received their GED, or a School Compliance Verification Form. Looking at the rest of the info on the website it looks like you either have to wait until you are 18 (I know you don't want to do this), Graduate High School (Not as easy as it sounds), Do the GED (time and money ) or find another way... Did a bit more digging around and found this... "Kentucky, Louisiana and West Virginia students can apply for economic hardship exemptions if they need to drive to jobs that support them and their families." It is on page 4 of this link. http://www.sreb.org/cgi-bin/MySQLdb?VIEW=/public/docs/vi ewdownload.txt&docid=1656&file=/uploads/documents/2011/09/2011091 210152063/11E02_Attend_Drive.pdf Looks like you may be able to get an exemption based on having to work to support yourself as your husband is going to be posted away. This may apply to you even though you are not a student. Make sure you call the courthouse before you go down and ask what exactly you need to say when you get there and write down who you spoke to. When you get there may sure you tell them the full story. Good luck !
