Questions Related to shelby, north cars

Where can I find project cars for sale?
Question:
The farthest I could go is up to Harrisburg or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the west. Up to White Lake, New York in the north direction. Anywhere in New Jersey and farthest down south would be maybe Georgia. All kinds of salvage cars and projects. I'm looking for a 1967 Shelby GT500, doesn't matter what condition. I just want that car.

Answer:
Your chances of finding a real GT500 as a project are remote, there aren't that many of them around and the ones that are are almost all restored already because of their value. If you do find one in rough shape, it will still be expensive if it's complete and the numbers match, they are very valuable. You'd be better off trying to find just a 67 mustang fastback and replicating a GT500. If you do it right it can look and perform pretty much the same as a real one, but of course it will never be worth as much. If you want it to drive and enjoy though, that doesn't matter much. Actually you can make it better in many ways that the original by making it a "resto mod" using modern components like 5 or 6 speed manual instead of 4, disc brakes all around, EFI instead of a carburetor, things like that. Here's a good article on the subject: http://money.cnn.com/2006/07/19/autos/restomods/index .htm Sounds like a good project - good luck!

Finally a voice of reason (See: additional details) regarding the Pelosi/Reid automaker bail out proposal? ?
Question:
Read all three Associated Press articles in full for additional information. Do we really need to be bailing out multi-national corporations that have no allegience to the United States? These automakers are "no borders" companies that operate worldwide without concern for American jobs or financial stability. GM sales outside of the United States have grown 10% in the first half of 2008. Certainly not a corporation in need of a bailout! GOP Lawmaker Doubts Auto Bailout Bill Sunday, November 16, 2008 Associated Press WASHINGTON — A top Republican senator says he will fight a Democratic plan to bail out U.S. automakers. The opposition by Sen. Richard Shelby and other GOP lawmakers raises doubts about whether the plan will pass in this week's post-election session. Shelby is the top Republican on the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. He says it would be a mistake to use any of the $700 billion in the Wall Street rescue to help the automakers survive the current crisis. He calls the American auto industry a "dinosaur" and says a federal bailout would only postpone its demise. Democratic leaders want to use $25 billion to help General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. But Democrats have only a narrow majority in the Senate. Also, President George W. Bush also opposes the idea. Read about GM one of the companies that Pelosi and Reid want to bail out and yet they are having no problems in world wide. See the Associated Press reports below: General Motors has record 3Q worldwide sales as it tries to hold off Toyota Published: October 18, 2007 Associated Press General Motors Corp. reported record third-quarter global sales of 2.38 million cars and trucks on Thursday as it tries to retake the worldwide sales lead from Toyota Motor Corp. The figure is 4 percent higher than the year-ago period, fueled by sales increases in emerging markets outside the United States. Toyota, which beat GM in global vehicle sales for the first half of the year, is to release its third-quarter results on Monday. Toyota reported selling 4.72 million vehicles during the first half of the year compared with GM's 4.67 million. GM reported global sales of 7.06 million vehicles for the first nine months of the year, up more than 2 percent from the same period last year. The Detroit-based automaker still led Toyota in vehicles produced worldwide during the first half of the year. Toyota and its group companies produced 4.71 million vehicles in the first half, inching up to GM's 4.75 million vehicles. GM has held the title of world's biggest automaker for 76 years. The company's record third quarter came despite a 6 percent sales drop in North America because of increasing fuel prices and a housing slump, Paul Ballew, the company's executive director of global market and industry analysis, said Thursday. "The first nine months have exceeded our expectations despite the underperformance in the U.S.," Ballew said. GM reported selling 1.2 million vehicles in North America during the quarter. Sales outside the U.S. amounted to 1.34 million vehicles for the quarter, accounting for about 56 percent of GM's worldwide sales. Third-quarter sales in the GM's Latin America, Africa and Middle East region were up nearly 22 percent to 329,400 vehicles, while the company reported a 16 percent increase in the Asia-Pacific region to 327,500. Sales in Europe were up 15 percent for the quarter at 523,600 vehicles, the company reported. Ballew predicted that sales growth would remain "subbdued" in North America going into the fourth quarter, but that would continue to be offset by robust growth in the rest of the world. He expected the trend to continue into 2008. Toyota Outsells GM Worldwide in First Half 2008 July 23, 2008 Associated Press Dee-Ann Durbin (AP) reported that General Motors Corp., pummeled by falling U.S. sales and high gas prices, lost the global sales lead to Toyota Motor Corp. in the first half of this year, but the churning market makes it difficult to predict which automaker will end the year on top. Toyota sold 4,817,941 vehicles globally during the first six months of the year, company spokesman Hideaki Homma said Wednesday, beating GM by 277,532 vehicles. Toyota said its global sales rose 2 percent from the same period the year before, while GM's sales fell 3 percent. It's the second time Toyota has beaten GM in sales in the first half of the year. In 2007, Toyota outsold GM by about 50,000 vehicles, although GM eked out a win for the full year, retaining its 77-year position as the world's largest automaker by sales. Toyota didn't release regional sales totals, but the weakened U.S. market appeared to be the biggest battleground. With its reputation for small, fuel-efficient cars and less exposure to the plummeting truck and SUV market, Toyota's U.S. sales fell 6 percent, compared with a 16 percent drop for GM. Answer:
No we do not need to bail them out , if the big shots of the auto makers want to continue in business then let them take some of the billions that they have made and bail their-selves out . Let them have their own pity party , pass the hat and stay in business . I

We go in to the school building in the middle of an English class] Charlie (teacher): So now that we know the rhyming pattern I would like you all to write me a sonnet. Charlie: Read it for us Ian. Ian: Must write a sonnet and make it sound good. So many things I would rather do. Don't want to do it but no that I should. I would rather watch TV and sleep too. If I don't do this then Charlie will be mad. Still my mind wanders to whats in the fridge. Leftover spaghetti would make me feel glad. I am at line eight I am passed a ridge. It is eight lines down and its six more to go. Maybe this won't be so hard after all. Maybe I will catch my favorite show. Maybe I will even go play football. Who am I kidding I never play ball. My sonnet is the most awesome of all. Charlie: Very good Ian. Ian: Thank you Charlie. Charlie: You know I am going to call you McPhie from now on. Tanner: Wait haiku's are usually about nature right? Charlie: Yes they are. Tanner: OK. Nature is boring. It is just a little dirt. I find it so lame. Charlie: OK that was good I especially like when it ended. Maddy: Hey guys! Guess what. Tanner: what? Maddy: Squirrel! Charlie: OK? That was a little bit random. Lets try to be a bit more on topic now OK? Maddy: OK sorry. Shelby: Hey guys did you know cows always point north. [whole class bursts into laughter including Charlie] Truman: I have a poem that I analyzed Charlie. It is the Soviet union anthem. Charlie: Again Truman? Bible thumper uses verses to ward off attacker?
Question:
A North Carolina woman read the Bible to her attacker for an hour and a half after he slashed her throat before the man apologized and left. Lindsay Wood, 32, of Shelby, N.C., had just arrived home from Bible study on Wednesday. Wood asked her 15-year-old son to collect the trash can from the curb. During this time, Wood's attacker walked into her home and slashed her neck. "She told him please not to hurt her, that she loved the Lord and her son," neighbor Faye Cooke told ABC affiliate WSOC. Police said Wood's son heard what was happening and hid in the backyard out of sight while Wood continued to reason with the man. "She offered her car up, as well as money," Rick Stafford, a captain in the Shelby Police Department told WSOC. But the man took none of those things. Despite her injuries, Wood opened her Bible and read to her attacker. He listened. She even invited him to her church. After an hour and a half, her attacker apologized and left. Wood is in the hospital recovering from her injuries, which required 20-25 stitches and staples in her neck. Meanwhile, police are hoping to apprehend the man, who didn't seem to want anything more than to hurt an innocent person. "We want him off the street," Stafford said. She should have shot her balls off first and then preached. Do you agree "his" http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/woman-uses-bible -verses-ward-off-attacker-181056926--abc-news.html

Driver's Liscence Test, Can someone help me?
Question:
I live in North Carolina and 25, going to be 26 this month in May on the 27th and I am in desperate need of help with passing and getting my liscence. I tried to take the test before in the past twice and failed and didn't go back since. All of this has been been tearing my up inside because I've been so depressed and haven't been able to really do certain things without a car. I felt almost like I wasn't smart enough to accomplish getting it or feeling like less of a man because I cant pass it. The problem I have with getting my liscence is the Written Multiple Choice test part. Sometimes you can take the test on computer and everyone knows that it consists of 20 questions and I think you can miss like 3 or 5 I think in order to pass? I live in a small town in between Shelby and Kings Mountain NC. Is there anyone that can please help me out, I am begging and in desperate need for help to pass. The times I went before to take the test, I passed the simple parts like identifying the road signs and stuff like that but it was that Multiple Choice part that messed me up and my self esteem. I think the real problem is that I dont know which parts of the test that I'm supposted to study in order to pass it. So can somebody please be kind enough to help me, I'm begging you...

Answer:
I went yesterday to take the test (in Hickory, NC.) Its pretty much basic questions but its really helpful if you read the book. I found chapter 4 (the longest one) to be the most helpful. That's where all of my questions came from anyways! I went to my room, turned off the tv and computer and sat down for about 2 hours and read the whole book. When you're taking the test DONT guess! You can pass questions if you're not sure. There are a total of 25 and you have to pass at least 19. When you are answering the questions narrow off the ones you know aren't right. If there is A, B, C, D and you know that A and D are wrong then only look at B and C. Don't get overwhelmed! Good luck!

Answer:
You need to get the Driver Handbook from your state's DMV. Here's a link: http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/driver_services/drivershandbook/download /NCDL_English.pdf It's not about "which parts" to study. You're literally operating a deadly weapon when you drive, so you should be willing to read the handbook cover-to-cover and know what the laws are. Make sense? All of it is important. However, there is probably a practice test available that you can use to study from. Good luck.
