There are well over 10,000,000 car accidents in the U.S. every year -- no one is going to have a lot of details about the vast majority. There should be a police report and that should be available from the Vanceboro P.D..

dealership added window tints?

ok....i was issued a ticket for tints on my 2010 toyota corolla S (in NY) which I purchased the car at the toyota dealership in New Bern, NC. i LITERALLY purchased my car as is, brand f***in new and DID NOT add these tints to my car. right now i'm thoroughly pissed off because i'm being penalized for these damn tints that either the dealership added to the car after it came from the factory OR the car literally was made this way at the factory itself. the way my windows look, you can't see a "seam" that would show tints were added and you can't see "if" they can even be removed short of me having to replace my windows. i have power locks and power windows and I DO NOT have thousands of dollars to spend or waste to replace these darn windows....which toyota parts are expensive as hell. can someone tell me please how do i find out if my window tints were factory made or was dealership added? i figured that i could call down to the dealership in NC to have them provide me with information regarding the window specs of my car but i get the feeling that i would be given the run around. the sales rep that i dealt with is pretty pleasant but i'm not sure i would be able to rely on him to help me out. i have submitted a not guilty plea and i'm due to appear in traffic court on 11/14/2011...if someone can help me with the answer soon i would GREATLY appreciate it.

I used to have this issue with my car I did have custom tints on it just barley above legal limits so when ever I went to normal emission shops I would get nailed on the tint.. Unless I went to the highway patrol and they tested with a special tool that had to be calibrated.. If they did not physically test the windows go to your local highway patrol office and have them test them it is free and only takes a few minutes.. then take that letter to the court hearing stating that the windows are legal.. if they are not legal then the dealership must make the car able to pass emissions and SAFETY

Was the accident my fault?

I saw Matt (the guy I hit) at the New Bern intersection. He was on my right. When the light turned green, I stayed in the left lane. Matt drove further up the road in his right lane. As I drove along Raleigh Blvd, I approached a blind curve. I was in the left lane with no cars in front of me. I was going about 40-45 mph. (the speed limit) As I exited the curve I noticed that Matts car was now in the left lane, the same lane as I, except now the interval between our two cars was too small. I slowed down but then he abruptly stopped his car. I braked harder but had no choice but to hit his rear end because there had not been enough space b/w us. Matt had switched into the left lane, but was unaware that I was coming around the curve as he did so. Neither of us saw each other in time. The problem is, when he switched lanes, he wasn't going very fast. This is why he was able to make a complete stop in front of me. A truck was doing a routine road job at 4mph in the right lane and Matt wanted to switch into my lane to pass this truck. The truck did not put up warning signs, but it did have bright lights. I had no idea there was a truck on the road because of the blind curve. I didn't see it until right before the accident occured. Matt basically switched lanes right as I was coming around the curve but he was going very slow (obviously) because he had been going 4mph previously. By the time I came around the curve he had already switched lanes and then abruptly stopped his car in front of me. He claims that he stopped his car because another car switched lanes at the same time as him. It was this car that stopped first. Then he did. He almost hit the first car. This first car then took off after stopping and probably was not aware that there was an accident. Anyway, this car was not involved in the accident. The road workers claim it was not their fault because they had warning lights. But they were forty below the limit....which caused problems w/the blind curve and the lane changes that took place. Who is at fault? The rear ender? The car that switched lanes then stopped?

Both of you are at fault for not paying attention because you both knew of the "blind curve" and you did not adjust your speed for following distance and your friend did not check to make sure that it was clear before changing lanes.....

Since neither of your parents is able to act in that capacity but you are under 18, I would call Child Protective Services with human services and explain that you want to finish school, as does your brother, I'd guess, and you need a foster home--a new set of parents who can see that you get medical, educational, and human rights, who can sign for things at school that a parent would sign, and would get you counseling, as I'm sure you have some form of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. If you are over 18, you can't continue sacrificing your life for your mother, who repeatedly threatens you and your brother with violence. You both will have to walk away, hopefully to another city, and start over again. The government should have your mother in perpetual care, as she is dangerous. I know it's sad, but you are too young to be sacrificing your life for your mother.

In most places a person who rear ends someone is at fault because a person is to have control of their vehicle at all times. You also have to leave enough following distance a good guesstimation is one car length for every 10 mph you are traveling, or a better rule is the three second rule (pick something in front of the car in front of you, and when they reach it start coning one one thousand, two one thousand etc. if you don't reach three one thousands by the time you reach the point you're too close. New Jersey also has a law called "Last Clear Escape" meaning you are at fault if you didn't take the last clear escape to avoid a collision. However I can't really tell you who's at fault unless I know the laws where you live.
