Is your family in the same area or spread all over the country?
Question:
All five of my children went separate ways, even though me and my wife raised our family in Boise, Idaho. My only daughter, is the closest to me and she lives an hour and a half away in Nyssa, Oregon. My oldest son lives in Denver, Colorado over 12 hour drive away. My second son lives in Saint Louis, Missouri a two day trip by car. My third son lives in St. George, Utah, a 10 hour drive. And my youngest son lives in Monroe, North Carolina, a three day car journey. Now that my wife has passed away as well as most of my friends, it gets lonely and I wish my children lived closer and I could see them more. Last Christmas was the first year we were all together since Christmas 2004. I am 90 and I may be in good health but I know I probably wont be around much longer and sometimes wish I could have a few more days with all of them together. My son and daughter (twins) are having a birthday and two of my sons wont be making it which I understand they have lives too but it hurts. I wished from the start a lot the family had stayed in Boise but they all headed off to new careers and raised families elsewhere. Does your family mostly live in the same area or spread out as well? Of my children I am proud of them all. Three of them ended up with their own businesses where they went and the other two both had successful careers and families. I am not saying I am not proud, just dislike that we all live so far apart that it makes it hard to see each other.

Answer:
Wow, Herry - you have twins, too!? that's great - do twins run in the family? I know it's hard not seeing family all the time - unfortunately, in this day & age it's all too common. My immediate family is all in New Jersey. My mom and 2 brothers are about 45 minutes from me. My older sister lives very close to me - just 5 minutes away! We use to be next door neighbors as she rented another house next to me before she and her husband bought their house.. we shared a driveway..it was nice driving home and seeing my niece and nephew waving in the window to me as I pulled into the driveway! My cousins are all over the place - many in NYC - several in Ireland/England/Austrailia.. North Carolina.. Florida.. California.

Answer:
Thanks!! I love learning random facts to tell my friends! They always wonder how I find things like that out!!

Find the connection between these things?
Question:
This is a game where I list three things and you have to figure out how they are related. It could be in function, origin, the spelling of the words, or even an association with another word. Some are easy, some are hard. 1. Bauxite—CocaCola—Leftovers 2. Lucy Mercer—Marylin Monroe—Kay Summersby (not that they're all women) 3. Wallets—Crayons—Piano Keys 4. Bras—Books—Flags 5. Dare—Heat—Cake 6. Tang—Sea Monkeys—Cement 7. 78—33—45 (not that they're all numbers) 8. Balls—Machetes—Torches 9. Mocking—Humming—Big 10. Ice Cream—School—Drivers 11. Fly—Liquid—Bond 12. Electronics—Mangos—Biscuits 13. Big Bands—Bulls—Cars 14. Bull—Stop—Arm 15. Cougar—Cooper—Storm 16. Pea—Trench—Rain 17. Rear—Birds—North 18. New—Blue—Harvest Simple thinks its hard. Is that irony? C'mon Simple you can get one or two. It takes lateral thinking, you can do it! #5 all four letter words is true so I guess you get credit for it but there is another connection. Same with #7, a clever and true connection but there's another even more obvious one. Damn good on all the others. But the hard ones still remain... So far roscoes in the lead with S.P.M. hot on his trail. Yes bras, books, and, flags have all been publicly burned for political reasons. Cars is right for #15 and just add water is correct for #6. Mistresses, aluminum, paper, things you juggle, yup, yup, you guys are sharp. Some are really hard so here are clues: #5 all are associated with one proper noun. #10 all are associated with one proper noun #17 all words in titles that have a connection #12 is a hard one. its in the spelling of either the word given or a word that the given word relates to. They have the same letter combo. good luck. I'd appreciate pos or neg feedback (is it fun?) or suggestions for improving this game since it's my own invention and this is the first test run. thanks to all for playing. Watch out, you guys wow_bill will probably come in and ace it and I know him, he won't look at the other answers either, a real honest guy, well, except that he's sleeping with my girlfriend but otherwise... Sorry woo_bill you got them ALL WRONG! Now come on, dare—heat—cake! HELL that shouldn't give a DICKENS like you any trouble if you RED the clue. HEY DESE are not so hard. Just TRY DENTal flossing your brain. And you'll never get 12 cause it doesn't sUIT you. You'll qUIT before you circUITously bring that puppy to frUITion cause you couldn't afford the tUITion to go to a good school. and it'll be a month of...(what day was that?) before you get number 10 and number 3 is a MOOt point cause I STEERed you astray with piano keys and crayons. Nobody knows those things come from CO- oops! I almost gave it away. GUINNESS! How is it you can just waltz in and be funnier than everybody. Even wow bill who had me in tears earlier today. You rock with real rocks, baby. How you been? How's the little boo, and the big boo? Email me! Not bad, bad kitty. You got it. Here's a bonus question for you: Stevens—Scan—Cradle

Wallets—Crayons—Piano Keys 4. Bras—Books—Flags They all have hook and eye clasps that are #$%^ hard to undo ...except for books ...and flags. I say, burn them all!! 5. Dare—Heat—Cake 6. Tang—Sea Monkeys—Cement They are all things that have been in shot into space? Maybe that is just a thought seed that requires some water to bring it to full fruition. 7. 78—33—45 (not that they're all numbers) That was my locker combination in high school! Or, is it Stacey B's measurements? ...Wait, they are all HALF of something. 78 is HALF of my IQ. 33 is HALF of Numbsain's IQ. And, 45 is HALF of 90. You can put that one on the record. 8. Balls—Machetes—Torches These are all things I won't let my son stuff up his nose ...or any other orifice. He thinks I'm a bit stuffy that way. Our relationship is a constant juggling act sometimes. 9. Mocking—Humming—Big These are all features of Numbsain. He is always MOCKING me. He is always HUMMING with good ideas. And, he has a BIG pe... Nice try, but that idea is for the birds, dang it. 10. Ice Cream—School—Drivers STUPID. Ice cream makes your head feel STUPID ...if you eat it too fast. School is STUPID ...ask any teen. Drivers are STUPID. Any arguments? Put the cone hat on your head and go sit in the corner. 11. Fly—Liquid—Bond JAMES or JIMMY. There was an old-time wrestler - Jimmy SuperFLY Snooka - Jimmy Buffet sings Marguerittaville and margueritas are LIQUID. James BOND is the name of a famous secret agent. Or, maybe it is TAPIRS. Tapirs can't FLY - Tapirs can't make LIQUID nitrogen - Tapirs will form monogomous BONDS for life with a duck if given the opportunity. But, tapirs are NOT anteaters and you can't make one out of origami paper. 12. Electronics—Mangos—Biscuits 13. Big Bands—Bulls—Cars They are all RUBBER. Big RUBBER Bands - You ride the big RUBBER bulls in a redneck bar. And, cars used to have RUBBER bumpers. 14. Bull—Stop—Arm HORNS!!!! BULLS have horns. You can pea in a trench. You could also pea in the rain, but then you would get wet. If you are gonna pea in the rain, you better wear a coat. 17. Rear—Birds—North They are all BIG. BIG Rear - BIG Birds - BIG No...rth O.K. Maybe North isn't BIG. But, it is a word in the title of an Alfred Hitchcock movie ...and Alfred had a BIG Rear! 18. New—Blue—Harvest SHOES!!! They are all SHOES: New SHOES - Blue (Suede) SHOES - Harvest SH...it. I'll never get this one in a blue moon. ******************************** 3. Wallets—Crayons—Piano Keys These are all things a goat would eat. ...Wait, they are also things you would find on a dead muscian/artist guy, too ...except for the wallet. 5. Dare—Heat—Cake They are the three most common last names in Bosnia. (i.e. like Smith, Jones and Fleckman). They could also be things you can frost, ...or put candles on. 12. Electronics—Mangos—Biscuits You can buy all of these things and they are listed in descending order of cost? They all come in the color green? It's what Numbsain has for breakfast? There is a millionaire in China who markets each of these things? ******************************* Hey Bonus Baby! This one is real cool, but I am hep to it: Stevens—Scan—Cradle These are the last names of B-list movie stars: Connie STEVENS - James SCAN (altough I think it is pronounced more like SCON) - Dan AKROYD (which in Polish means CRADLE) ************************ Ooooooo, I just figured out another one: 5. Dare—Heat—Cake -- Wrap -- Sea t-- Crap -- Charge -- Peek -- Look -- Hold -- Down -- It Easy -- Shortcut -- High Road -- Low Road -- Can't Anymore!!!

What freight train numbers were used on the Southern's Danville Division in 1903?
Question:
I am preliminarily researching the context of the 27 September 1903 wreck, at Danville, VA, USA, of Train 97, a southbound fast mail that left Washington, DC, approximately one hour late that day; with Engineer J. A. Brody at the throttle, this train, 30 minutes late passing Cherrystone Creek, barrel-rolled off the track just north of Stillhouse Creek and crashed in the creek alongside the trestle. It appears that Brody, who normally handled drag freights on the Southern Railway System's Danville Division (between Monroe, VA, and Spencer Terminal, NC) and apparently had no previous experience with a Baldwin passenger ten-wheeler consistent with SOU #1102, was pressed into service when another Southern engineer who was qualified on ten-wheelers fell too ill to make the run---a similar situation to J. L. Jones' double-back on the Illinois Central on 29-30 April 1900 to put the IC's Train 1 into Canton, MS, on time from a 90-minute late start at Memphis, TN (only Jones was a qualified passenger engineer who knew where he could safely run a train at 90 mph on the Memphis-Canton line). At the wreck itself, Brody and both firemen were found crushed to death beneath #1102, apparently having been thrown from the cab during the derailment; most of the postal clerks and express messengers were either killed outright in the crash into Stillhouse Creek or scalded to death by the steam from #1102 while trapped in the crushed remains of the mail and express cars. At least one songwriter of the early 20th Century AD in the Danville, VA, area (the true origin of the song "The Wreck on the Southern Old 97" is in dispute) apparently got Brody's regular train number incorrect, as #38 was assigned to the northbound Crescent Limited (as was #97 to the southbound fast mail and express). I am assuming that the Southern ran numerous freight trains on the Danville Division to convey coal and mineral concentrates from local mines, livestock and farm produce, industrial raw materials and finished products, &c., from source to market; freight was (and still is) the railroad's principal business. What I am requesting is information on the Danville Division's freight timetables and what trains by number would have been assigned to the runs specified therein.

Unlicensed illegal immigrant charged with fatal auto crash does he appear to be an inexperience driver?
Question:
CLAYTON -- A 52-year-old Williamstown woman was killed this morning when the car she was driving was hit by an SUV driven by an illegal immigrant without a license. Mary P. Rogers, of the 1600 block of Hessian Drive, died at the scene of the 6:55 a.m. crash at Fries Mill Road and Deschler Boulevard. Rubiel Sanchez-Ramirez, 25, of North Laurel Avenue in Bridgeton, was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer reportedly owned by his fiancee when he hit the 2002 Nissan Altima Rogers was driving, authorities said. The Explorer was traveling north on Fries Mill Road and hit the Nissan on the driver's side as it turned onto Fries Mill from Deschler Boulevard, said authorities. The Nissan was forced off the road into the treeline of a residential property. Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene. Sanchez-Ramirez suffered minor injuries and was taken to Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Washington Township for treatment, then released. Sanchez-Ramirez has been charged with causing death in a motor vehicle crash while driving without a license, a third-degree criminal offense. He was also issued several summonses for motor vehicle violations, including careless driving and driving without a license. Bail for Sanchez-Ramirez was set at $100,000 by Superior Court Judge Walter L. Marshall Jr. The suspect was to be placed in the Gloucester County Jail, Woodbury. In addition, a detainer was placed on Sanchez-Ramirez by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency because of his status as an illegal alien from Mexico. An autopsy on Rogers is pending. An investigation of factors that may have contributed to the crash is being conducted by the New Jersey State Police, Clayton Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. Assistance was provided by ICE agents, the Monroe and Franklin police departments and the Cecil Fire Co., whose personnel helped with traffic control for the four-hour period Fries Mill Road was closed after the crash. http://www.nj.com/south/index.ssf/2009/06/unlicensed_il legal_immigrant_c.html "AMERICAN TERRORIST" shooting up a recruitment center where one young man died and the cold blooded murder of a doctor in a CHURCH is this the best you can do?http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gQACNshVFYt6 M9CDykHq6DKqPhiwD98I121O0 Military recruiter killed in Ark shooting by Muslim & President Obama Not a word about the jihadi attack on the two Army recruiters in Arkansas. Answer:
I see the above posters fail to realize that had this illegal alien not been in this country, this poor woman would still be alive. They jump the border and think it is perfectly ok to drive on our roads without experience, unable to read the road signs and in alot of cases, intoxicated. The fact that our own citizens do the same thing is not a reason to dismiss the fact that these people aren't supposed to be in our country to begin with, let alone on our roads. Nothing will change until the family member of someone important is mowed down by one these law breakers.
