Question:
1,100 miles.tony's car can travel 400 miles on a full tank of gas. how many tanks of gas will tony's car need for the entire trip. explain your reasoning

Answer:
3 tanks because he can do 400 miles on tank, and he's goin 1,100 miles, he does 400 miles with first tank, next tank he gets to 800 miles, and then he uses 3/4 of last tank to get to 1,100, he will then have 100 miles left on the tank though. thanks!

what can be done about Elizabeth City North Carolina not hirine returning Iraqi Veterans?
Question:
My husband is a returning vet. Had just got hired at the Elizabeth city Correctional Center, but returned to them and was denied his job. Has recently re applied and has to go through months of retesting if they decide to call him to start the process again? We are behind on our bills and struggling very hard, he and I apply for every job we can find with no luck. We have a 10th grade honor student and we trust in God. But no one else seems to care if we have jobs or not. Is there any thing that can be done about him not being treated fair and given his job upon returning. He had to leave for Iraq with National Guard the same day he was to report for that new job. We notified them with his orders and he immediately returned there asap. Upon returning home, They turned him down for the job. He just recently reapplied. We desperately need help with this issue. I don't think our Veterans are getting any help upon returning home. we can barely live on 425.00 unemployment. Have been recieving since the end of May or June. We have a house and car payments, not an excessive amount of bills but it is really a struggle and how can you look for work when you can't afford gas and the car payments and house payments, light bills, phone bill, water bill is all behind, and you can barely afford to eat it is really not a good feeling at all. We keep praying and trying to keep our heads up high but it is very hard. My husband is still in the National Guard and loves what he does to support our country, he has also been trying to get an AGR job with them. We only pray for the gas prices to go down and for someone to hire us soon. Any help with our issues will be so deeply appreciated. Thanks to the both of you and God Bless you!

What are the craziest names that someone you know named their children?Or did they name them after a category?
Question:
Please share your stories. By category I mean, Country, City, Plant, Celebrity characters, something like that. Someone I knew a while ago had 5 children and named them: (I'm not kidding) Vivien Leigh (Girl) Racer James (Boy) Elizabeth Taylor (first and middle of a girl) Daytona Karr (Boy) Grace Kelly (Girl) Obviously the mother was very into show business. The father was into racing cars, he ended up naming the boys and she the girls.

help with first car!!!!!!!!?
Question:
I am 16 and am looking to get a car in January. I live in Elizabeth city NC and have a low price range. The car needs to have a good insurance cost. Plz help.

Answer:
Dude, buy something cheap that wont give you the mod bug. Buy a Camry or a 4 door Cavalier. This way all you need to do is just add in a cd player and upgrade the speakers and you are set and not to mention that they can be found for dirt cheap and they are really reliable. Dont get something that you think is fast and try to show off and rice out like crazy F&F style because while your buddies may think its cool and what not, the majority of the other people will just point and laugh and call you ricer. ** My first car was a 94 Eclipse. 5 speed manual. Great first car, cheap on gas and insurance, but got me into trouble. CD player was as much as I did to the car. - Current car is a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire with upgraded speakers and a 12 inch sub, and a K&N CAI. Soon to be supercharged. BTW...I am 17, 18 in a month and a half so I know what I am telling you.

Did i really win a CAR ?
Question:
so i got this letter in the mail from the Nationwide Unclaimed Vehicle Event in Elizabeth City. It had a tic tac toe thing on it and you were to scratch it off to see if you had won. Well, i did win. So what im wondering is, did i really win a car or is this a hoax ? they havent asked for any personal info. just to show up at the car dealership to claim my prize.

Answer:
Unless you paid money up front like for a lottery or a raffle ticket, winning something like that (when it comes in the mail) is usually a hoax to get people in OR getting hold of your credit card info and steal money from it. They say you won BUT and there's always a but involved, you have to do this and this and this and THEN you will win that prize but first give us your credit card info please. Yeah that's usually how it works. The old saying "If it sounds too good to be true, then it usually is".

Visiting New York City for a week.?
Question:
Here are some questions I have. Any help is greatly appreciated! To save money, I booked a in Elizabeth, New Jersey right by the Newark Airport. What is the easiest way to commute from the hotel to NYC? Is getting a rental car a smart idea or should I just stick with public transportation? I'm going on this trip alone, I'm a 25 year old guy, what are some things that you think I would enjoy doing while in the city. About how much money do you think I'll need for a week of stay, counting food and tourist stuff i.e. Statue of Libert, Empire State Building etc. What clubs/bars do you recommend? Do you have any other useful info that you think I'll need? Thanks again! I'm a New York City newbie so any help is appreciated!

Answer:
The easiest way to commute is to take the train to Newark Penn Station then either get on the Northeast Corridor Line or the Path train into the city. Getting a rental car is a bad idea if you're going to spend most of your time in NYC unless you don't mind navigating the streets and dealing with the traffic on weekend nights (AND ITS BAAAAD) How much money will you spend? Ahh it all depends on what food you eat. There are cheap options. And it all depends on what you're interested in. When I lived in NYC I hung out more in the East Village (CBGB's when it was open, St. Mark's Place, etc.. never paying more than $10-15 for a meal). You want to check out Gray's Papaya on the corner of 8th St and Avenue of the Americas - about $2.75 for 2 hot dogs and a drink. Best dogs in the city. Veselka Diner on 9th Street and I think 2nd Avenue is an amazing 24 hour diner with the best chicken noodle soup and pierogies ever... Bars? Oh so many. If you want to meet some stand-up comics while getting your drink on (and possibly bump into some famous ones like Chris Rock or Robin Williams) hop over to The Olive Tree Cafe above the Comedy Cellar on MacDougal street between Bleecker and Third.... Not only is their mediterranean food menu outstanding, but the drinks are awesome (GET A NUTTY MONK!) On the ooooother side, back over towards the east.. on 14th between B &C there's this awesome Tiki bar called Otto's Shrunken Head.. they get all kinds of bands playing there, punk, reggae, etc... but they make the best drinks I've ever had... There are too many good bars.. You might have to e-mail me haha. DON'T EVER FOLLOW A CITY GUIDE FOR YOUR BAR TIPS!!!!! They are never ever right! You need to ask a real human being who has been to the bars... I've been smashed many a night in new york when I lived in Manhattan and when I lived in Brooklyn. Best years of my life! Tourist site prices can be found on http://www.nycvisit.com Total money spent... it all depends on how you want to save your dough on your trip. You can avoid spending extra money on cab rides by taking the subway and becoming friendly with a subway map - also you can walk. Walking in NYC isn't like walking anywhere else.. because there's always something around you so it doesn't feel like you're walking in the desert or something. Walking can be fun and totally free! If you think... you eat breakfast, lunch and dinner - spending $15 at the most.. that's $45 a day... times 7 - That's $315 on food. If you want to do the subway, you can buy yourself an Unlimited Ride 7-day metrocard for $24 (which automatically saves you money after you've gone on 12 subway rides...) Drinks? Well I don't know how much you drink, so you can calculate that... but NYC can either be expensive or cheap... strong or weak (although I wouldn't send anyone to a place that makes weak drinks)

Inexpensive Motel or Hotel for a weekend in beginning or middle of December, 2010 in New York City.?
Question:
My girlfriend and I would like to travel to NYC for the weekend. I was raised there and currently we are out of state. I have visited myself in the summer and stayed at the 12 Towns YMCA by myself, on previous occasions as well. This summer I paid 45 dollars apparently they want 80 dollars a night now for one person only, the Green point YMCA they said it was 80 also, but for the two of us. There is no breakfast available and the showers are shared but I know from experience the Green point Y seems to be one of the cheapest, and safest, in terms of neighborhood. I looked at Motels on roomsaver.com and they listed something in Elizabeth New Jersey I think the Knight Motel 45 a night I think, but when I called, they said 64, but apparently that is rampant with prostitution according to the reviews. SO, does anyone know of anything really inexpensive around the time frames I listed in the title, in NYC, not Staten Island, btw, perhaps in Westchester or Rockland I guess...maybe New Jersey but I would really prefer New York City. Also I read something about a Rockaway Beach motel something like 115 dollars a week. But any input would be helpful. Something inexpensive and quiet and safe so iIcan park my car. Maybe with complimentary breakfast that would be nice. Thanks.

Answer:
Go to TripAdvisor. You can click on "New York Hotels" and filter by price or area. You can post your question on their Forum section. Check out any hotle/motel/hostel you're considering on the bedbug registry. NYC has a massive infestation of bedbugs affecting hotels/motels/hostels/apartments/offices/theaters/stores.
