Word Problem: Solve the Problem ( Elementary Algebra College Class)?
Question:
Eden and Madison leave home at the same time. Eden travels north at 3 miles per hour and Madison travels west at 4 miles per hour. How far apart are they after 2 hours? ( Hint: Use d=rt to find the distance traveled by each car) Please explain answer, I don't just want the answer I would like to understand how the answer was derived. Thanks :)

Answer:
Using d=rt, in 2 hours Eden will have traveled 6 miles north and Madison will have traveled 8 miles west. Using the Pythagorean theorem, solve for the hypothenuse. 8^2 + 6^2 = c^2 64 + 36 = c^2 100 = c^2 c = 10 The distance will be 10 miles.

Are these really End of Times Signs or coincidence?
Question:
1. Rebirth of Israel in 1948. Now some may say that it was selffulfilling prophecy or something, but the during the time that the Bible Prophesized this, Israel was still one nation, so even Jews themselves hadn't believed the Prophecy, but 60 years later, they were destroyed and as the Bible said, they would be Reborn out of the Nations after centuries of exile. Also the Bible is the only book on the face of the Earth who had predicted this. 2 The rise of Russia and the Military power of China. The Bible said, to the extreme North of Israel, would be a nation of strong military power presence. And Russia is #2 Militaraly wise with their nuclear weapons. And also, the Bible had predicted that to the North-East of Israel would be an army of 200million. In the 1960's China has boasted that they had reached that number. How could the Bible have predicted this long ago? 3. The "knowledge explosion" From the time of Garden of Eden till the 20th century there hadn't been such a development, people were still riding horses, but God said, a sign of the End Times is there would be a knowledge explosion, from Moses to Ceasar to George Washington, there were no cars, they rode horses. But now came the car, the plane, the jet, we put people on the moon just within a century. Same with communication, from the Garden of Eden till the 20th cenrtury we had no ways to talk across the globe now came the telegraph, telephone, television, for goodness sake we even have the iphone, such a development within a century don't you think? How could it that it hadn't happened earlier? 4.The Bible predicted birth of nuclear warfare. The Bible said, "Flesh shall consume away as they stand on their feet, their eyes will melt within their socket, and their tongue will consume within their mouth" Zachariah 14 chapter 12 verse and if you've seen the videos of the bombing of hiroshima,Japan, that's exactly what the Bible was describing.During the time the Bible was written, they were using arrows and bows, heck this wasn't even possible in the 1900's how is it that this came true? 5. The increase with Pestilinces, famines, and earthquakes. Now you've known about chile, argentina, the one yesterday with indonesia, and haiti. But what makes this different? You'd say the earth has been having earthquakes ect.. but what makes this different? Well we had never had a generation that had the Rebirth of Israeil, Nuclear Warfare, Knowledge Explosion, and Earthquakes in a single generation. So this only explains more that the Bible is true, as this has happened how the Bible said would happen. 6. New World Order, One World Government. Now, this isn't a new idea. The thought of One World Governement isn't a new concept. But why is it that all of a sudden, in the Last Generation, It's on the National Agenda, Obama has mentioned it more than once, and that there's the United Nations? Basicaly it's the pieces of the puzzle comming together. 7. Lastly, the Bible Predicted that there would be Economic Alliance of the Old Roman Empire Which is now known as the European Union (EU), How could have the Bible predicted all these and it happened in the same exacty order as it said it would happen? Well, no rude comments please, just your opinion of alot of coincidences or the Siigns that we are in the Last Generation, and End of Times? References: Bible Everything that's happening around me And the news

Answer:
yeah, well they have said this type of stuff for a long time, but I think we're getting kind of close IMO. v I always thought of that... it's kind of exciting lol. But I would rather not I think.

Suggestions for places to visit in the UK in March?
Question:
My wife, 16 year old daughter and I will be in the UK in March for 2 weeks, will probably rent a car, and plan to travel between relatives in Edinburgh, Cardiff and London. Being from Canada, we're used to all kinds of weather, and driving long distances. We enjoy hill walking, visiting historic sites and museums, and exploring small villages. We also enjoy some of the popular tourist attractions. We've visited several times before; here are examples of some of the places we've previously enjoyed: Central London (museums, usual tourist sights) Brighton (Pier, waterfront, Royal Pavillion) Dover Kew Gardens Hampton Court Palace Greenwich Observatory Thames River by boat HMS Victory at Portsmouth Stamford Dorchester Conwy Angelsey York Pateley Bridge, Yorkshire Windermere Tintagel, Cornwall the Eden Project St. Andrews Edinburgh Royal Mile, Castle, Arthur's Seat I'd be happy to visit some of these same wonderful places again, but would really appreciate any suggestions for new places to visit. In particular, ideas for places to visit near Liverpool and Manchester, the Peaks District, and North Yorkshire (eg, Harrogate - Ripon - Yorkshire Dales) would be most helpful, as well as in Scotland. Our schedule is such that we won't likely stay more than one or two nights in any one place. We greatly enjoy the UK, and look forward to our next visit! We will definitely be in Scotland, Wales, and England during this holiday. Northern Ireland is probably a bit less likely, but not impossible. Thanks everyone for the great suggestions so far!

Answer:
You have been to some very good places but you have missed out the two jewels in the crown. First there is The Lake District in Cumbria, Northwest England. The scenery provided by the lakes anf fells (mountains) is absolutely breathtaking. This is the fell walking capital of England. Get hold of guide books by the legendary Alfred Wainwright. Second there is the 630 mile Southwest Coastpath which includes the World Heritage Site - The Juraassic Coast. The section from Swanage to Weymouth in Dorset is stunning as is the Cornwall section. In the Yorkshire Dales try a drive down Wensleydale, stopping at Aysgarth Falls. In Manchester try the Imperial War Museum North near Salford Quays and walk across the footbridge to see Media City and the Lowry Centre. In North Yorkshire Richmond and its castle may be worth a visit. In County Durham drive up Teesdale from Barnard Castle, stopping at High Force ( the biggest waterfall in England) and also Summerhill waterfall. Then onwards over the tops to Alston. This is recognised as one of the world's great drives. In Northumberland in the far Northeast of England drive the coast road south to north from, say, Alnick to Berwick. You may wish to stop at the castles at Alnwick, Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh and the simply wonderful Lindisfarne on Holy Island (not an island at low tide). I hope I have given you a few ideas to reseach.
