Commuting from Chapel Hill to Greensboro?
Question:
How's the commute from Chapel Hill into Greensboro by car? I have some job prospects in Greensboro but my friends are in Chapel Hill, and I would like to live there so I can be in close contact with them and the cultural activities available in the Chapel Hill area. I would be commuting in daily to Greensboro.

Answer:
A lot depends on where in Greensboro you are going to work and how flexible your schedule can be. The Greensboro metro area is pretty sprawling and extends pretty far east and west of downtown. Also, I40/I85 can be very challenging at rush hour. If you can avoid rush hour, and live and work close to the interstate you can expect your commute to be under an hour which is reasonable in many areas of the country. Other places to consider living are Burlington and Pittsboro. Both of these are popular places that are convenient to Greensboro and Chapel Hill.

Is there a bus or train I can take from Greensboro to chapel Hill?
Question:
Hi, I have to go to Chapel Hill every day for the period of one week. I don't want to have to drive my car their every day because of the danger & miles. Does anyone know of a bus or train that I can take to go there?

Answer:
well im not sure but its only 50 miles between the 2, might a well just drive there, depending on what you drive its probably cheaper to pay for the gas than to pay for the bus there and back everyday for a week, plus its less of a hassle to drive your own car instead of a bus, also you have to go on their schedule, you won't have to keep a schedule if you drive your own car

Would Uni of Northern Carolina at Chapel Hill be a fun and safe place for an exchange student from Italy?
Question:
Are people friendly there? Would I be stuck not having a car? Would it be a "Real American" environment or more of an international experience? Which are some nice places to visit around there? Thanks for your help, I appreciate that!

Answer:
UNC is a great school. My best friend goes there and it was one of the universities I was looking into. They have a lot of school pride, they're excellent academically, and there are many activities for international students. You probably won't be able to have a car, but you can always find friends with them or take buses or cabs. People are people so you'll find nice ones and some not so nice ones. Aaand America is a huge country so to say you'll have the "real american" experience is hard to say. It's a great college and shows college life well and because it's a popular school you'll meet more people from across the country and not just people from North Carolina (though that will probably be the majority) UNC is super close the the beach and only a few hours away from Myrtle Beach and other landmarks, you'll have a great time there I think. :)

what can i do do get imformation on a felon for a Tony Williams from chapel hill?
Question:
he was a guy that i was dating and he was driving my car and he was charge with a DUI while i was sitting in the passenger seat while i was sleeping and the state trooper charge me to stating that i knew that he did not have license and that he was drinking to.

Answer:
On the trooper's defense, the guy was driving YOUR car. You should never let anyone drive your vehicle unless you know enough about him or her and know whether they have a license, etc. You stated you two were dating, how long did you know him? If the guy was drinking, how could you not have known? Were you all at a party together and he drank there and then you fell asleep on the way home? If so, then you were aware of it. If he stopped and bought some alcohol while driving, I would figure you would have awoke when he stopped the car or got in or out. Just let this be a powerful lesson to you. Don't ever let someone drive your vehicle unless you know them well enough. It could have been a lot worse than you just being cited. Good luck.

Questions for any UNC Chapel Hill students? Former or current.?
Question:
I'm an early college student. For any who aren't familiar, it's where I attend high school and college at the same time. However, my college classes count as my high school classes as well. When I graduate I'll already be in my second year of college and have an associates degree. Anyway, Its getting to the point where I really need to decide on where I need to go to college at. I'm a junior in high school and I'm about to be a senior. Although I have an extra year of high school, I still need to start seriously looking around. I've been considering UNC Chapel Hill for a long time now and I really want to go there. I'm looking to become a neurologist and eventually a psychiatrist as well. Anyway, if there are any people out there that have went to UNC-CH, I have a few questions for you. First off, about how much does it cost a year for everything including books, tuition, dorms and any extra you might need? Second, are the classes very large? About how many people are in each class? Third, are students able to have cars there? If so, how much does it cost and what year student do you have to be in order to receive a parking spot? Also, what kind of students are usually accepted? As in like 4.0 GPA's and top of their class? Or do they accept a wide range of students? Because I'll admit, I slacked off quite a bit in the beginning of my high school career, and I'm paying for it now. My GPA is probably around a 2.5, if that. So, what are my odds of getting in? I was never into many sports or clubs. It's probably a good chance I won't get it. But I would like to know my chances. Any other information anyone can give me would be a big help. Also, if there is anyone else that might not have went to UNC-CH that could give me any information or recommend a good college in North Carolina would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Answer:
All you can do is apply and see what they say. Other NC schools worth considering include: UNC-Pembroke, Fayetteville State, and NC A&T in Greensboro. All the information about tuition, fees, and other expected expenses are set out in each school's website. Even with the college hours that you have, do you have SAT or ACT scores? That will help a lot locating a good program for you.

Are cars permitted on these campuses freshman year?
Question:
UNC-Chapel Hill. U of Arizona. U of Florida. U of Virginia. U of Georgia. Some campuses don't let you have cars your freshman year so let me know if any of these do, thanks!

Answer:
Probably not, but I would disregard that rule as opposed to riding the bus. Just have your mom buy you a parking pass. It's virtually unenforceable.

some questions about unc chapel hill?
Question:
Are there any clubs What is there to do in the area around campus? · Can you drive a car to campus your freshman year? If no, is there anything within walking distance from campus? · Is there public transportation? · How far will you be from Graham, NC?

Answer:
There's a place called player's that everyone goes to. Also once a month at a restaurant called spice street there's an international latin party that's basically latin dance. It's a huge classy event each month where the girls and guys are dressed in their best :) Franklin Street has plenty to do (it's basically a part of campus/parallel to campus). It also has a gigantic Halloween street party each year that attracts many. There is transportation between Duke and UNC I know called the Robertson bus (free and runs each day)

Starting home daycare? Chapel Hill, NC.?
Question:
So my mom and I live in a very nice neighborhood in Chapel Hill, NC and we she is looking to become licensed for an in home daycare/center. Preferably a center because you can be licensed for up to 12 kids per adult and with a JUST home daycare you cannot have more than 5. Anyways, I was wondering what would be reasonable to charge for childcare, when she would be available whenever the children needed care and she will be doing overnights if needed as well. We DO live in a rather wealthy area and UNC hospital is 5 minutes down the road so some business WOULD be doctors/med students. Also, what exactly is the demand for child care? Not just in this area but around the country anywhere, is it high? can we expect to be at full capacity (12 kids), mid (6-7) or low (5 and below)? THANK YOU! Also, how hard exactly is the process to get licensed? We have plenty of space and a converted 2 car garage for them, a large fenced yard and lots of toys.

Answer:
I have heard prices ranging from $85 a week to $150 a week are pretty normal, depending on the adult to child ratio. People usually pay more for younger children, but at least in Georgia the legal ratios of adults to children increase with age. Only 4 infants per adult, whereas 12 preteens per adult. There is a high demand for childcare, but parents want the centers to be very close to them, they want to like the people in charge of the children, and they want low teacher - child ratios. I don't know how hard it is to get licensed. I am currently a full time nanny, and am considering a home daycare with just 2 charges so that I do not have to get licensed.
