traveling long distance in a stock 302 ford maverick?
Question:
during the summer me and my pops commute from the albemarle area of north east NC all the way to greensboro to drop me off at my brothers house for spring and summer vacation.. i to be able to make this trek solo and with my own car one day (the maverick) would it be a good idea to install a 5gallon reserve tank in the car. the motor has been fully rebuilt....not installed yet but planning for the future.

Answer:
No need to add an extra tank. Just keep an eye on the fuel gauge and re-fill when you need to. On long trips I start looking for a fuel stop at 1/2 tank.

i plan to invest in a GPS system for my car, Tom Tom or Garmin, which will give me more bang for my buck?
Question:
im a college student and i plan to use it to go on vacation and travel by myself. during the summer i usually go to Greensboro NC to stay with my big brother, i travel from the albemarle area of north eastern NC to Greensboro. i want to be able to go visit him independently. i also like having something with a big screen so i can actually see the directions. its going to be put in my 74' maverick when i get one.

Answer:
Like everybody will recommend, Garmin is the best GPS. I have a Garmin 255W, its wide screen and Text to Speech feature so it will say street names. Its not the best model by Garmin but the basic usefull feature is there. I have Tom and Magellan but in the long run you can save money in Garmin. A Garmin may be $25 more than a competitor brand of more or less same features, but the Upgradeability and support of a Garmin unit is superv than other brands. An outdated Garmin system is better than an outdated Magellan. You might be tempted to a buy other brands, but mine just end up in craigslist until I bought my Garmin. So a 25 bucks savings in other brands is not worth if you sacrifice reliability and customer support. And don't get tempted to buy those with blue tooth, MP3 player, picture viewer, those are fancy features and remember you are buying a GPS not an Ipod. So basically you need a GPS with updated maps(2010), TexT to speech, a unit with new GPS chipset(ask the sales person), freeway lane assist feature, millions of "points of interests" and in addition it may have fuel calculator, live traffic, traffic camera locations, speedtraps etc.. Don't buy in unauthorized dealer, you might get scammed ending up with you unit ineligible for free upgrades. ..and if you are drving a maverick, drive slow and look good! load it with girls LOL! thats what I'll do
