Questions Related to white, plains cars

Does anyone know how much it costs to park overnight at the White Plains Train Station?
Question:
I'm heading down tomorrow, and wanna leave my car at the White Plains Trans. Center while I head down to the city. I've never actually used that garage for more than a few hours before. I guess I need the price for atleast 24 hours. I can't find it anywhere online, and can't call since there closed. Any locals wanna help me out here?

Answer:
It should be somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 to $20 for 24 hours. However, I would recommend carrying some extra cash just in case. Good luck

Does anybody know of the sponsorships on the 28 and 38 cars for the upcoming season?
Question:
I haven't heard any word on the 28 or 38s sponsor situations. As you may know last year both of the teams had some troubles gaining sponsorship, even some cases where a plain white car was driving around the track. Does anybody know if the 28 and/or 38 have sponsor's lined up for the upcoming season?

Answer:
The #38 isn't going to be racing. Its owners points were transferred to Paul Menard's team (#98) since it has full sponsorship. The #28 will be racing the first 5 races and if no sponsors are found will be shut down. Its owners points were given to the #96 team of Bobby Labonte. I really don't see why Yates is having all these sponsorship issues. They've got Roush's marketing personnel working for them as well as their own people and yet can't get a sponsor. I find it amazing that drivers that are new, upstart teams, can get sponsorship, but the established teams that are GUARANTEED into the Daytona 500 can't get squat. Even though I'm not a huge fan of either Kvapil or Gilliland, I think they're getting the raw end of a deal that they had no control over.

You can take the commuter train from white plains to grand central station and then from there to most parts of connecticut. I've done this a few times. You may need to take a shuttle from white plains to tarrytown or a place with a train station.

What are the safest and cheapest places to live in NYC/White plains area?
Question:
My brother got a job in White Plains (NY-10601) and he will be moving in a couple of months. He and his wife have never been up north and want to know what areas are cheaper and safer between Manhattan and White Plains. Their income is lower-middle level and they don't have a car. Could anyone suggest such areas/neighborhoods where they can find good quality apartment (1BR+) for not more than $1.5K/month?

Answer:
I would suggest either Washington Heights or even Hell's Kitchen, both of which are in Manhattan. http://nabewise.com/nyc/washington-heights http:// nabewise.com/nyc/hells-kitchen Good luck, NYC is a great place to live.

What's the best way to get to White Plains from JFK?
Question:
I arrive at noon, and will be staying at the Crowne Plaza in White Plains. I'm open to public transportation, renting a car (since I'll be in NY for three days), or using a shuttle. Any input on things to do would be great too!

Answer:
To get around in Westchester County (where White Plains is), it's a good idea to have a car, so it's advisable to rent one yes. If you want to get to White Plains by public transportation first, then rent a car there, you can: 1 - take the AirTrain from JFK airport to Sutphin Boulevard / Archer Avenue, where you can transfer to the E-train subway. 2 - take the Manhattan-bound E-train subway to 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue, free transfer to the #6 train. 3 - take the #6 train southbound to Grand Central Terminal to catch a Metro North train. 4 - take a Metro North train from Grand Central Terminal to White Plains. This will take about 2 hours total. This would be a good option if you don't have more than 1 piece of luggage (it's a PITA to drag a lot of luggage through all the stairs in the subway system). Hope this helps.

How to make a (white) car sparkle & shine?!?
Question:
how to make a car shiny? .. sparkle.. sizzle :) its a `02 white color nice car its just plain white its not shiny :( and when i clean it.. its just clean not shiny lol. so i was wondering any tips or tricks? does waxing do good? ... and whats the best wax or any other thing-a-ma-jigger outhere?? thanks!!

Answer:
just simply applying a wax over a car wont make it shiny, it will a little, but its about the prep work buy a a couple of microfiber applicators and towels heres what you should do 1. wash your car - you can go automatic if you want, but to touchless 2. clay your car- this removes all the contaniments stuck to your paint that normal washing wont get rid off. I suggest meguiars smooth surface clay kit-$15 3. Paint cleaner- This removes swirl marks/scratches/oxidation, etc.. depending on the severity of your paint, it all depends. I would say either meguiars cleaner wax ( sample of it comes with the clay kit) or you can buy some meguiars colorx, colorx is strong than the cleaner wax. You work paint cleaners into the paint, about 30-60 seconds for each 16x16 in area. Yes, it can take a while. and since cleaner wax, and colorx, are cleaner/polish/wax all in one, you let the products dry before removing, 4. polish, since youve already applied cleaner wax, or colorx, which has polish in them, you can skip this step 5. wax/paint selant- This seals in the polish, and also adds shine, and hides light swirl marks/scratches. I suggest meguiars nxt 2.0 tech wax, or meguiars gold class wax apply all of these products with microfiber, or the applicators that products may come with. Theyre meant to be used on the car so in short 1. wash 2. clay 3. cleaner wax or colorx 4. wax i personally also top the tech wax, with turtle wax ice polish i think it gives it more of a wet look, and you can use it on your trim/bumpers so you dont just have a shiny paint, then crappy looking trim then theres also tire shine, dashboard protectants, trim protectants, etc.. also, white paint is hard to make it look 'shiny' darker the color, better you can make it look but also, darker the color, the more imperfections show..
