I need some advice for traveling through New York City and Long Island.?

Hi, I am traveling from Fort Wayne, Indiana to Long Island, New York to buy a car - I know - long way for a car, but this is my dream car. Basically, I just need to get out there...I can drive the new car back home. I have never traveled out east before, and I am looking for the best/cheapest way to get there. I can drive out with a friend, and drive separately back home...I can fly one-way to JFK or ISP...I can take an Amtrak train out there...I can rent a car, etc. etc. There are a lot of options. What would you recommend is the easiest/cheapest way to get to Long Island? Also, if I arrive at say, Penn Station or JFK Airport, how do I get to the island? Where would I go to find info about taxis, buses, or trains from the Manhattan to Long Island? Is there anyone familiar with NYC that can tell me the most efficient means of getting from the City and/or JFK to Islip on Long Island (buses, trains, etc.)? Thanks so much for your help.

I need the fastest route to get to Selden that's where my new school is. What bus do I need to take from Ronkonkoma to Selden? Or how many bus stops I need to take to get there? Please help!! I don't have a car I will consider taking a taxi usually if I feel using the bus for some reason then I need to find ways to get to my new school.

The S6A travels between Ronkonkoma and Selden. To get to a different part of Selden, you can take the S57 or S59 to Middle Country Road, and then take the S58 or S63. Check the schedules for these routes at sct-bus.org. I hope this information was very helpful.

Here is my situation: 1. I can fly from Moline Quad City Intl Airport (MLI) or from Chicago, IL, - O'Hare (ORD) 2. My travel companion can fly from New York ISP (Islip, Long Island) or from LGA (LaGuardia) in the city. 3. We can fly Fri evening 08-04 through Tues evening 08-08, but we both prefer to fly Fri evening 08-11 through Tues evening 08-15 4.We are trying to find a destination city to fly to so we can spend some time together and will need one hotel room and probably a rental car or be able to walk or use city transit. 5. We have spent hours and days and weeks searching sites and are frustrated. How can we coordintate this to find flights for under $300 round trip a piece? 6. One of us prefers not to go anywhere hot. We both like the idea of Canada. We both want to get away from Chicago and New York. ANY tips or pointers????? Is complicated, escpecially since we don't know where we want to meet at. Any help is appreciated . . .no 'smart remarks' please. THX!!! Just to clarify we mean $300 each for the round trip tickets. . . not including hotel and car and stuff.

RE: 2007 Ford Mustang, VIN: 1ZVHT80N275277473 Dear Ford Motor Company: I purchased a new 2007 Ford Mustang from Crown Ford (420 Merrick Road in Lynbrook, NY 11563) on December 6th, 2007. Ever since then, I have diligently maintained my car through the dealership every 3000 miles, on the mile (with service documents to prove it). On Tuesday, April 5th, 2011, I noticed that my car’s heater stopped working. Only cold air was blowing out of the vents. Then on Sunday morning, April 10th, the engine started making loud banging noises while I was driving on the Sagtikos Parkway on Long Island, the car overheated, and it suddenly stalled right then and there. I had the car towed from Islip to Crown Ford in Lynbrook for a total of $230.29. When the dealer examined my car on Monday (April 11th), they told me that my car needed to have the entire engine replaced due to a blown head gasket and cracked cylinder. At only 22,000 miles on the car, this is an absurdity. This dilemma is causing a huge inconvenience for me. As of April 27th, the car is STILL at the dealership. Whenever they say that my car will be ready by a certain day, a new part has to come in, further delaying the repair time. I commute back and forth every day to work AND school. There is no way that I can afford to lose this much time. Both my family and myself are being inconvenienced beyond belief. As such, I am requesting the following from Ford Motor Company: *** Complete reimbursement of my towing expenses ($230.92). Supporting documents were mailed to Ford Roadside Assistance Claims Reimbursement in Medford, MA. *** $0 in total repair costs. The vehicle’s 5-year/powertrain warranty is still in effect, and any problems indirectly caused by the engine that are not covered under this warranty must also be free of charge. *** A new 5-year/powertrain warranty on the new engine, NOT a 3-year one as I was told by the dealership, with the resetting of my odometer. How do I know for sure that the new engine really isn’t rebuilt??? If these requests are not met, I am prepared to pursue full litigation against Ford Motor Company for these egregious inconveniences and poor workmanship. Thank you.

I'd recommend consulting either (a) your state's consumer affairs office and filing a complaint, or (b) an attorney specializing in consumer law; one experienced in areas dealing with automobiles would be ideal. As it stands now, you're limited to small claims court based on the damages you seek. Surely more is involved when you think about it: the expenses for taking alternate forms of transportation; lost income, etc. That's why I recommend seeing an attorney, to explore your options. One reason I'm recommending your state's consumer affairs office over the Better Business Bureau is that the former office has the power of law behind it, allowing it to proceed with an investigation, using tools such a subpoenas to get the required information; the BBB doesn't enjoy that (with apologies to the BBB).

NASSAU COUNTY (WABC) -- The New York State Police is investigating a deadly car accident which occurred on at approximately 4:52 a.m. on Saturday. It happened on the Wantagh Parkway Northbound about ¼ mile south of Hempstead Turnpike. Oscar E. Ramirez-Lopez, 29, of Brentwood NY, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, was driving a Ford-Windstar north bound on the Wantagh Parkway. The Windstar sideswiped a 2000 Kia-Sephia, driven by Ilario Scuteri, 49, of West Islip, NY. The collision killed Scuteri and his passenger, Daniel Cambardella, 46, of North Babylon, NY. Investigators say the Windstar was traveling on the left lane of the roadway and the Kia on the right lane when the Windstar sideswiped the Kia. After being struck by the Windstar the Kia left the roadway, entered the right shoulder and traveled northeast on the shoulder of the roadway until it struck a tree. The Windstar struck the center divider twice before coming to a stop on the middle of the roadway. Ramirez-Lopez, who had been drinking, was arrested and charged with Vehicular Manslaughter 1st Degree, Driving While Intoxicated and Driving With-Out a License. He was processed at the State Police Farmingdale Barracks after being released from the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. He was then transported to Nassau County for arraignment. Scuteri and Cambardella were removed from the scene by the Nassau County Medical Examiner's Office. As a result of this accident investigation the Wantagh Parkway was closed for approximately six hours. More then 3 years ago i was arrested for a dwi in suffolk county, new york.I went to court hearing's for over 2 years i went to at least 16 different hearing's . i had no previous charges not even a speeding ticket. I ran into the wrong cop on the wrong night who exaggerated the charges and actually lied on the report my lawyer tried to retain the tapes from the squad car to show my innocence and exaggeration of the charges, but could not for some reason, i asked for a jury trail and waited more then 2 years ! for one reason the D.A. was not able to get there only witness the police officer who arrested me to come to court for trail.I left suffolk county and moved to nyc and continued go to my trails traveling from the city to central Islip. i waited for my day in court and very patiently to prove my case after 4 court lawyers 3 judges and more then 3 years later. i had the opportunity to live abroad, and i took it, leaving the united states. i have been out of the states for more then a year and am not looking to return anytime soon (lets say another year or 2). I am about to obtain citizenship in my current country witch means i will lawfully become a citizen and obtain a passport. I have no plans at the current time to leave my place of residence at all, i plan on Living here at this moment for the rest of my life. So after explaining my situation. my questions is if i land in an international airport that is not new york or even new york, What are the chances that suffolk county police department will be waiting for me? What would be the best route to take to clearing this up ? Is there a statue of limitations on this ? I know i technically jumped bail, but is there a right to a speedy trail violation here ?

I have been friends with my boyfriend since 6th grade and started going out with him when I started freshman year since he was two years older than me. Jewelry complement my outfits. I don't wear heels all the time only when I want to. Pageants are really fun so I do them.Cheer leadingg is super fun so I joined that. I only shop at the mall because it's close to the movies. The only things my parents pay for me besides the basics like foodmortgagee ect. is my cell phone bill. I don't have a car. Painting my nails makes me look cleaner. And she also says makeup is bad for me. The only makeup I use islip glosss and mascara. I'm really tired of her and so don't want her to talk anymore.
