The best route from East Meadow,NY to Baruch College in Gramercy Park, Ny, Ny?
Question:
I need to attend classes during the daytime from about 10am-2pm m-f. I am looking for the cheapest means of transportation to the college. I have a car so I could drive but not sure where to park or how much. I was also wondering if there is a place where I could drive to right outside the city and park(for free) and then get on a subway to city? Any help is appreciated! I dont want to spend a fourtune

Answer:
You could drive to the Freeport Long Island Railroad station, take the Long Island Railroad to Jamaica, take the E train to 53rd Street/Lexington Avenue and take a downtown 6 train to 23rd Street. I'm 99 percent sure you have to pay $5.00 to park at the train station. You could also drive to Lynbrook and take the N4 bus to Jamaica for the E train. There would be a free transfer from the N4 bus to the subway at Jamaica. Hope this helps.

How do you feel about Your Tax $ going to pay for Obama votes?
Question:
Here in the ATL East Lake Meadows area is strait hood. A lot of people do not have cars. We got the city paying now for buses to pick us up to take us to voting centers. Everyone in the hood who does not have a felony is voting for Obama. We got this though a petition and now those w/out rides can vote. How do you feel about this? We are rounding them up! Pastors in church rounding them up, making sure everyone who is 18 up voting for Obama

Answer:
I don't see anything wrong with people getting a ride to the voting polls.. They will have free transportation for McCain supporters also they have it every election. And you and no one else knows who anyone is really voting for, they can say one thing and do another and you will not know.you will not see their ballot my friend.

Answer:
Check with your local animal shelters. Next time you try to catch a dog, try having a small can of dog food or doggy treats with you. Our dog control person advises to try catching them that way first. You might be surprised as how often that really works.

Is taking driving lessons at a driving school equivalent to what i would get taking drivers ed?
Question:
i missed the cut off for spring drivers ed at my school, and i would prefer to take lessons alone anyway, but my dad's saying if i go to east meadow driving school it doesn't matter because i HAVE to take drivers education, not driving lesson because it's apparently not the same thing.. is this true? i know we need 6 hours of in car instruction, and with the class i would get 7.5, and also the driving school offers a 5 hour pre-licensing course and a 6 hour defensive driving course.. along with the ten 45 minute lessons i would get.. is this everything i would be getting by taking drivers ed?

Answer:
"East Meadow" and "five-hour" lead me to believe you're in New York... Driving schools are more personalized and one-on-one whereas in Driver's Ed, you may be driving with three or four others in the car. In the end, you'll pretty much learn the same thing. Restrictions for a junior license are pretty tight in New York City and Long Island, so if you take driver's ed, you'll get a senior license at 17 (instead of the normal 18). You cannot get a senior license at 17 with driving school. You don't HAVE to take driver's ed, you can instead take a five-hour prelicensing course before taking a road test.

2 different endings shown for the sopranos?
Question:
Wikipedia says: Tony comes out of hiding to spend time with his family in a restaurant in the last few minutes of the final episode. Several suspicious characters enter and Meadow has trouble parking her car. In the east coast HBO feed, just as Meadow enters the restaurant, Tony looks up and the screen cuts to black for a time before the credits are shown. In the west coast HBO feed, the final shot is of Meadow entering the restaurant before the credits are shown. Can anyone in the west coast confirm that? Did he die in the east coast and not in the west? I was so disappointed with this episode. it was so boring and so much more could have been done with it

Answer:
I live in NYC, and I watched the 9PM original showing on Sunday. I absolutely saw Meadow enter the restaurant. I've watched the version most people have seen, and the Meadow-focused ending runs about 5-10 seconds longer. Additionally, the credits in the Meadow ending scrolled across the screen- they didn't flash as in the Tony ending. I've heard people who recorded the episode on DVR say that they saw the Meadow ending when they watched the show live on Sunday, but when they went to watch the recorded show, saw the Tony version. It sounds like some David Chase/HBO trickery to me.

Do you have similar Vote for Obama parties in your area?
Question:
Here in the ATL East Lake Meadows area is strait hood. A lot of people do not have cars. We got the city paying now for buses to pick us up to take us to voting centers. Everyone in the hood who does not have a felony is voting for Obama. We have a day planned to BBQ ribs/chicken wit music while running the buses to the booths. University teachers are giving extra credit to show up, the churches are all involved by rounding up the homeless to get them voter cards letting them know they get 1000$ from the Oil companies that Obama promised. Do you have similar things going on in your area? There is no fraud. If you get enough petitions like we did then you could get buses too. greeneyedlady35-not but yeah you should find your Closest and get involved. They are really nice. You dont want to get involved w/ a closet one lol.

Answer:
I sure hope not. What you describe sounds unethical, especially churches, they are tax exempt and should not be involved in party politics.

In my dreams I see...?
Question:
in my dreams i some times seem to float off into this new yet so familiar place. it's like a home, yet i've never been there before. every time i'm sad, mad, or just thinking, i seem to yearn for this oasis i've never been to. it's so real, the people, the homes, the land, everything is so familiar like i have spent most of my life there. it's a small village, a dorf, with cottages in a nice little circle. to the east of the village is the black forest, to the north and west are the snow topped mountains, and to the south is the green meadow. the grass is not too thick or too tall, and lush. like after a calm rain. light grey clouds cover the sky, but it's still bright outside, and there is the smell of rain in the air. a cool breeze runs through the village. As i walk into the village the people greet me. I see an elder man with a grey beard and a hat. he is dressed old fasion, like the fifties. he walks with his wife, an elderly woman like my grandma.... whom i miss greatly.... i see the young kids playing happily in the streets. there are no cars, but instead bicycles. in the center of the village is a statue i can't identify, circled with flours. Everytime i walk into this place they all seem so happy, like they don't have a care in the world. Their faces are so bright and there isn't a sad face in sight. I don't know why i see this place, but every time i do, it makes me wish i was there. what does this mean?

Answer:
You didn't mention, but are you really stressed out in the real world? Perhaps your subconscious is trying to give you an escape while you're asleep? Each detail that you describe could stand for or mean something different. For example, statues usually represent someone we feel we don't communicate with enough or someone that we admire. You said you couldn't identify the statue but you did mention that you saw an elderly woman who reminded you of your grandma. Perhaps you feel you didn't communicate with her enough or if that's not the case it could simply mean that you admire her.

Environmentalists! I need your wisdom!?
Question:
Hey I need your help! So I am currently doing a debate about why this wetland site should be protected. I need to get together lots of reasons why this site would be beneficial to preserve. I am not the best at this and figured that there would be a lot of environmentalists out there that would have better insight...If you're feeling up to it - through me some of your knowledge! Thanks! The information about the site is listed below... This large marsh has remained little changed, surrounded to a large part by pasture lands. Agriculture has been restricted to the north end of the marsh while there is a similar marsh with a rich community protected by the Nature Conservancy (greenwood swamp). Various other marsh preserves are located further east, together forming a large complex. A new highway will be constructed through the middle of the site within the next six months. This cannot be stopped, but if the site is protected, extensive mitigation measures will be incorporated into the road construction to prevent run-off, car-proff crossings for turtles, etc. Traffic volume on the current highway is increasing. When it was built, little attention was paid to its effects on the marsh. A paper recylcing plant is planed on a parcel of land to the south along the highway. The paper plant will require a signficant water source. A local well appears to be the most cost-effective option. The majority of the marsh is classified as Southern Sedge Meadow, dominated by tussock sedge and Canada bluejoint grass. Addictional sedges are Carex diandra and C. sartwellii, marsh bellflower, marsh wild-timothy, water horehound, swamp aster, spotted Joe-Pye weed, marsh fern, and swamp milkweed are also very common. Much of the perimeter of teh sedge meadow is Shrub Carr, dominated by red-osier dogwood, silky dogwood, meadowsweet, and various willows. There are three patches of Oak opening forest on the higher ground within this property. The primary tree is mature Bur oak and Shagbark hickory. American hazelnut is common in the understory. The herb layer is native grasses and forbs present. There are several patches in the marsh forming "islands" of Cottonwood, American and Slippery elm. There is a farily large colony of nesting Great Blue Heron on one of these islands.

Answer:
Start with how many communities and industries in the area use well water. The water gets into the ground in places like the wetlands
