Without owning a car, what is the best way to travel from New York City to Binghamton, NY? Greyhound? Rental?
Question:
I don't own a car, and I need to find the most cost effective way to get up to Binghamton, NY from Queens, NY.

Answer:
Greyhound isn't too bad. I made the trip lots of times with them, they mostly ran on time. Just get there early as the buses tend to fill up (about an hour before departure time, a little more if you need to buy tickets). I'm not sure of the prices now, but when I used to go, about 4 years ago, it was about $65 round trip.

Driving to new york city from binghamton,ny(upstate)where can i park and ride into the city?
Question:
Me and my friends are going to the city for the macys thanksgiving day parade. We live in upstate new york in binghamton.Normally its about a 3 to 3 1/2 hour drive. But id like to park my car somewhere safe outside of the city(somewhere along the way)and get a train into the city?I need to know this by tomorrow so please answer!Best and quickest answer gets the 10 points.Just please advise along the route of ny-17 or 81 i can park and get a train, also please let me know about how long it takes on the train and how much each round trip ticket costs.

Answer:
Many years ago, there was a commuter service that offered parking in a lot just off the New Jersey Turnpike west of the Lincoln Tunnel, and transportation into the city by bus for a fixed daily fee. Don't know if that option is still available. If I were doing it today, I would probably park at one of the commuter rail stations north of the City - Poughkeepsie is northernmost option, but there are several options in Westchester County that are closer to the city. Pick a station that is served by MetroNorth rail service (into Grand Central) rather than Amtrak (Penn Station).

Pregnant, married & husband isn't helping financially...?
Question:
Im pregnant and me and my husband decided to try living in Binghamton, New York. He told me if I didn't like it we could come back to California (i've lived in Los Angeles all my life) .. So we went to New York... ended up living in Rochester for 3 months instead if Binghamton with his mom. I didn't like it so I asked to go back to California. He actually liked Rochester, a place I disliked for the reason being that I couldn't walk anywhere cause of the harsh weather & I don't have a car (lived in an area where there is only a road to get in and out).. Anyways.. I came to back to California, he left back to New York & keeps saying he's going to get a job.. Now he's saying he's gonna get an internship.. He keeps changing the plans. But i think the problem is that he's being lazy, all he did while in New York was watch tv from morning till night. I have about 2 months left before giving birth and he hasn't helped me financially at all. I'm living with my parents. What can I do?

Answer:
He shouldn't be communicating to you like that. You're his wife and are pregnant. He needs to come to you better than that. Now, if he doesn't intend on getting a job he should let you know that and stop beating around the bush, afterall, a new baby is on the way. He may not be planning on getting a job. He gives you shaky responses because he is really unsure of what he wants to do. I don't know if this was a planned pregnancy, but he should have been planning ahead of time when you first became pregnant. Talk to him and give him an ultimatum, because if you don't he may continue telling you he's looking for a job and the baby will already be here. That is too stressful on you trying to keep at ease for the baby and yourself. If you're living with your parents, he is probably planning on living with his parents if all else fails and he can't find a job. You should ask for the support of your parents which I'm sure they would, until you are able to get a job yourself, then pay them back once you are stable. As for your husband, he seems unstable right now.

Can some1 please look at the 1st page of my essay and tell me if its "attention grabbing"?
Question:
its on Oligopolies in America..its not really as long as it looks :P the purpose of the paper is to discover the percent of 4 companies in the oligopoly type that we chose controls in america...my 1st page is just background info on Fisher-Price (the other companies mentioned are the other 3 major companies in the toy business :P ) -------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Fisher-Price is a popular company that makes products for babies and for children as well. When people think of Fisher-Price, they may think of brightly colored toys, car seats, swings and high chairs….but do they think of things like diapers, and books? Well, Fisher-Price is one of the MANY oligopolies in America, and within this essay, every aspect of the Fisher-Price company will be explored. Fisher –Price was founded in 1930, by Herman Fisher, Irving Price, Mr. Price’s wife Margret Evans Price, and Helen Schelle (Fisher-Price only used two of the three names). All three of them had experience in business and in toys as well. Fisher started off manufacturing, selling and advertising for games for a company in Churchville, New York. Mr. Price retired from a chain store, and Helen had experience working in a toy shop called Penny Walker Toy Shop in Binghamton, New York. The team started off with toys made of steel, because with steel, there was no chance of splinters, and the toys stood up to rough use well, and also made of Ponderosa Pine. To make the toys more appealing, lithographic labels were added to the toys. Later on, Mrs. Price (who was the first art director of the company.) designed toys after characters from her children’s books. In 1931,the team took six-teen of their wooden toys to the American International Toy Fair in New York, and they quickly became a success. The first toy ever sold by them was “Dr. Doodle”. By the end of the 1950’s, Fisher-Price had made 39 toys made of plastic. In November 1993, the toy company Mattel wholly owned Fisher-Price. The top toy manufactures in the U.S are Mattel (who owns many other companies, including Fisher-Price.), Hasbro (who also owns many popular toy brands.), Bandai, and Lego. Hasbro makes board games, dolls, educational, and many other types of toys, but they do not make baby care items, like Fisher-Price does. Bandai makes and sells mostly Japanese products, most that are based on popular TV shows like, Ben 10, Pocoyo, and Power Rangers. Most of their products are marketed towards boys, except for their Harumika collection. And last but not least, Lego, Lego’s products are all block related. Their products range from boxes of blocks, to play sets, to video games. its for my economics class :]

Will my car be able to make this trip?
Question:
Its a 1997 Toyota Camry LE with 175,000 miles, 2.0 4-cylinder. I'm traveling from New York City to Binghamton, NY. Its a 4 hour drive.

Answer:
Either you check or have a mechanic check all the fluids, belts, tires and hoses. If the car checks out good you shouldn't have any problems, but who knows it is mechanical and capable of breaking down.

Answer:
Just all of the college application fees will really add up fast. It's not crazy. I don't know if your paying for the application fees, or your parents, but I would check with them. I used to live near UConn, it is a nice school. The campus is in the middle of no where though!

I did REALLY bad my freshman year.?
Question:
My freshman year of high school I had a lot going on, my dad just got over cancer and right when he found out he was in remission my mom filed for divorce. I ended the year with a 2.5 gpa and I failed both my regents (new york state tests) [algebra and earth science] when i re-took them I barley passed (i had a 66 and a 68. Passing is 65) I didn't fail any classes though. Now I'm in sophomore year and the first quarter just ended. I had a 2.9 which is still not good at all since I finished middle school with a 3.6/3.7 and I was in the 94th percentile on my TACHS (gets you into private high schools in NYS) I'm trying to build up my average to AT LEAST a 3.4 by the end of this year and a 3.7 by the end of junior year. but the thing is my teachers don't care. I'm doing bad in math and I asked my teacher for help today and she told me that she couldn't because it was her lunch hour. and when I went for help with the other geometry teacher today she ignored me and only focused on the kids in her class. I tried applying to another school but I need to wait until next year to go because I'm in French 2 and they don't offer french so they want me to start spanish 1 next fall so I don't get screwed up and I have 2 years of french and 2 years of spanish. So if I reach my goal of a 3.4 this year and a 3.7 next year will i still get into college or will they not accept me because i did really bad last year ? The colleges I'm looking into are: Penn State NYU University of New York at Binghamton University of New York at Albany UCLA University of California at Berkley University of California at San Fransisco University of Texas at Austin University of Florida University of Florida at Miami College of William and Mary and if I can't reach my goal and I only get up to a 3.0 this year and a 3.5 junior year would I still be able to get into these colleges ? I have extracurricular activities I've been in girl scouts for 11 years and I'm in the process of receiving my gold award I'm in Right to Life, Irish Heritage, Swim Team, and Community Activists I also do community service a few times a month I've also been working in a grocery store for almost 3 years. I'm not sure if that counts and most of the comments on my report car say "pleasure to have in class" "improved greatly" or "some improvement" So what do you think ?

I go to private catholic school, do my religion grades go to college or no, because it's a pain to study a lot for religion plus everything else. If they don't go to college i'll still study, i just won't do it as much as i do right now so i have time to focus on other things. I want to be a pediatric oncologist, a lawyer, or a coroner, or i want to own a grocery store

Answer:
Boy, your future goals are all over the map: oncologist, lawyer, coroner, grocery store owner. As far as what school you can get into, they are also all over the map. I would suggest for the time being that you focus on your classes, focus on taking the ACT/SAT's at least twice and then decide what school you want to attend. Each school has different admission standards and they base it on many things: ACT/SAT scores, highschool grades, recommendations, etc.
