We are looking at Hyndai Santa Fe cars. Are there any issues to watch for?
Question:
We have been looking at various suvs and are considering a Hyundai. Possibly in the 2003 era. give or take a couple years depending upon the deal. What issues should we be watching for in these vehicles? Specific to this model I mean to say. Thanks folks! I have checked with Edmunds.com. I am just looking for further current answers Thanks!

Answer:
I had a 2004 Santa Fe and it was a great car, never a single problem and it handled better than any other SUV I ever tried. Mine had the 3.6 V6 and I got about 28 MPG on a the highway. I drove it back and forth between New York State and Florida several times and it was a pleasure to drive.

Are Hyundai Santa Fe good cars and how many miles pert gallon and how any miles is the car good for total?

Answer:
I personally don't own one, but my parents purchased one in 2000. They have over 110,000 miles on it and they haven't had any problems. The only major thing they have done was a brake job and new tires. And that isn't bad at all! It averages about 24 mpg, but they do mostly highway driving. In the city it gets more like 20. For what you get, you can't go wrong. It comes standard with many options, and the price is usually cheaper than competitors. I personally wouldn't buy it because it isn't comfortable for me. Both my parents are smaller (less than 6ft tall) and they fit nicely in the seats...I just don't fit! But other than the comfort level, it is a fine vehicle that you will get your money out of. I've looked at the new '07 ones and those are much more comfortable than the older model ones. But I drive an '06 GMC Yukon Denali XL, so you can see why I don't think they are the most comfortable vehicles. Ok, let's put it this way...if I were looking to purchase an inexpensive vehicle for one of my kids (if I had kids), I would not hesitate to look at a Hyundai. They are, from what I have seen, reliable, safe, get descent gas mileage, and it comes with a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. I just wouldn't buy it for myself.

Does anyone know why almost no reviews of the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe exist? Did the car just come out?
Question:
We are looking at the new Santa Fe to replace my husband's car. However, we are having an extremely hard time finding reviews that actually review this year's model. Most reviews seem to be of the 2009 Santa Fe. What is going on? Didn't the 2010 Santa Fe come out last fall along with all of the other 2010 cars? Why the few reviews? Thanks.

Answer:
The current Santa Fe (2010) was released as a completely redesigned vehicle for model year 2007. So the 2010 Santa Fe is in its fourth model year. This is why not many reviews for the "new" Santa Fe exist. Its not "new," so to speak. If you want to know about any changes or improvements made in those years, this is a good link http://www.edmunds.com/hyundai/santafe/review.html The changes have been minor. You will find editorial reviews for the 2007 - 2009 Santa Fe at that link, as well as reviews by actual owners. Just scroll down the page and click on the model year(s) to see what people think of the Santa Fe from year to year

what kind of oil could you used for a hyndai car santa fe 2005?
Question:
I need oil in my car?

Answer:
It really depends on the climate where you live. Extreemly cold climates require different weights of oil than mild climates and very hot climates require different weighted oil as well. Lower numbers, such as 5W30 for colder climates up north, especially during winter months, and higher numbers, such as 10W30 for warmer climates down south. For extreemly hot climates, you may consider 10W40 or 15W40. The first number in the oil weight is the expected operating weight in cold engines and the second number indicates the expected operating weight once the engine has warmed up to normal operating tempratures. Lower numbers for colder climates means the oil is thinner and can move throught the engine easier when -20 degrees wants to make motor oil flow like tree sap. Higher numbers for hotter climates means the oil is thicker and will still provide protection for your motor when the engine gets hotter and causes the oil to thin out much more than it is when you pour it out of the bottle. No matter where you live, though, Synthetic oils tend to perform better than Conventional oils. It is more expensive, but worth it in the added protection it provides, and in some cases, added horse power. See Hot Rod Magazine August 2002 for a very detailed article on the differences between Synthetic and Conventional oils.

Are 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe's reliable cars?
Question:
I have been looking for a new car, but I am on a limited budget. After looking at every dealership in my area (not even kidding) I finally found a nice looking car in my budget. It's a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe, but it has 92k miles on it. I would feel better about buying it if it were a Honda or a Toyota, but I don't know much about Hyundai's. With that many miles I want to make sure it will still last a long time with no issues. My budget started out at 10, but recently its gone up to about 13,500. This Hyundai is listed for about 10,500, which isn't bad, just the mileage scares me. I've tried to research them online, but I can't seem to find much with that car with that many miles. So please let me know :) Thanks!

Answer:
Hard to say the value since I don't know if it's a GLS, SE or Limited. If it has the 3.3L V6 then I'd buy it for sure, but try offering $9500 first. See what kind of warranty they offer and maybe check if they are registered with BBB. Don't waste your money on extended warranties. The Santa Fe is a great vehicle, don't forget to check private sellers on craigslist.
