There should always be a pay off price for your lease contract and/or a price to buy the car to terminate the lease. Talk to the credit union to see what they can do for you. I kind of doubt you will get a deal that you will like, but the credit union will probably give you the best deal you can get.

I was approved by a credit union at 6.70 NEW car loan of 20000 (car will cost more than that but I'll pay the rest as downpayment). My rate for a used car is 7.20 same amount & same months: 66 (if i buy used, will be an 06 or 07 pre-owned, which will not be a big diff in the price -lets say $2000 so I'll still have to pay some downpayment). Problem is that the C Union wont lent me more than 20000 since its my 1st loan. I still need around 2000 dlls more for the diffrnce (I wont change my mind about the car I want). WellsFargo approved a 24000 new car loan at 8%-60 months I went to Bankrate.com and this is what I got: 6.70% - 393.20dlls payment for a total of 23600 7.20% - 394.91dlls payment for a total of 23880 8% - 486.63 payment for a total of 29198 Confused: based on this, I'll pay just $2000 less on a used car.. In this case, wont it be better to get the NEW car? (with the warranty and the color, features I want) Best way 2 get the $3000 i still need? credit card? or? a 'like invoice?' whats that? The car I want is a Nissan Frontier 2007 LE crew cab BLACK. They're around 26000-27000dlls (if I can get a good deal), I can get a 2007 pre-owned NF 07 SE or 06 but I've seen them advertise at around 24000.. havent actually been to the dealers, im just basing this on the advertised prices on internet. can u give me your email address? almost all bank /cu will give you the same rate on used car on the same model year 2007 using a like invoice youcan usually puuchase a used car for about 5000 less then new that way and still get whatyou whant but you need to know how to figure out what you should pay for that info i would need to know exactly what it is your looking for..

I want to walk in there and have the deal done, not worry about whether or not i get to keep my new car....how do credit unions work? anybody have any experience with this?

Auto finance is what I do for a living and customers that have their financing already approved are always better off when they go shop for a car. Unless your looking to take advantage of the special low rates sometimes offered from the manufacturers you will get a better rate from your own local bank or credit union. Good luck and if you do get approved do not let the dealer know that you are a cash buyer until all off the numbers are on the table and agreed on.
