Where can i park my car in new jersey/Newark? Then take the train to manhattan?
Question:
Hi, me and my girlfriend are planning on doing a road trip this summer. We are coming from Quebec city, canada. We're planning on visiting Manhattan most likely. Our hotel will be Marriott intentional airport hotel in Newark, NJ...Where should i park the car? We need advices... I've heard about Metropark but its not close at all from Newark airport hotels. So what you guys think? Should we just change our hotel or there is a close train station by newark hotel road. Thank you in advance. :)

Answer:
Its not safe to leave your car in most places in newark. Just make sure you don't keep any valuables. It also depends on what you drive if its on the lines of an audi or something then keep it in a pay garage or find a hotel in a different city/town. If you go near the jersey shore the towns are nice and not really any worry. You're better off driving into manhattan through the holland tunnel aound 6-6:30am (basicly a 20 minut drive) because most parking garges have an early bird between 6-9 am. Theres a parking garage on center off of canal st near the holland so you can get in and out of the city fast. that you only have to pay 15 bucks to keep it there until 6pm. If you want to stay longer like overnight you will end up paying around 35 which still isn't bad. There's subway stations around that area too. But if you park around where i said to you will be in lower manhattan in soho, Little italy is there, chinatown tribecca where all the artsy stuff is. I believe that newark penn station also has a parking garage. If you take the train in you will be in midtown manhattan.

Is it possible to walk from Newark, New Jersey to Lisbon, Portugal?
Question:
Hello...I have to go to a seminar in Lisbon, Portugal. I hate airplanes, flying, etc...and also am deathly afraid of ships, water, etc. I have been doing some studying and it appears if I walk, or hitchhike to Alaska, I can walk across the Bering Straight (frozen over) into Russia and then take trains, buses, cars, whatever and make it to Portugal. My seminar is in early March. Is it doable? Does anyone know for sure if the Bering Straight is frozen over?

Answer:
The Bering Straight is made of saltwater, so it never completely freezes over. Good luck.

What is the best way to travel from Newark Airport to Times Square in New York City?
Question:
I am travelling to New York City with friends this fall. We are flying into Newark Airport and staying close to Times Square. I have heard that a cab would cost a substantial amount and that we should use the train and subway systems instead, but I am nervous about looking like a total tourist with my luggage in tow and trying to get on to crowded train cars with it. Has anyone done this before and is it easier than I think?

Answer:
I would take a taxi. It may be a lot, but you will split it between you all and it's going to be so much easier with luggage, etc. If it's a one time thing, it shouldn't be bad.

Allentown pennsylvania to new york city what will traffic be like,?
Question:
I'm going to new york city from allentown pennsylvania and I'm going to park my car in newark new jersey and take a sub way to the city, how will transportation traffic be for driving and the subway? What is my best option for route?

Answer:
If you don't need your car in NYC, you might as well leave the car in Allentown and take the bus, avoiding 200 miles of wear on your car, gas, tolls, and parking. If you really want to drive, I agree that Hoboken is a better place to park and ride than Newark.

What's the best way to get from Newark Airport to New London, Ct?
Question:
Traveling from Hawaii to east coast- it's been a long time I've been to NY/ NJ/ CT area. We're flying into Newark 2pm on a Thurs then to New London, CT then flying out from Laguardia on a Sunday. Is it better to take the train (Amtrak?) or rent a car? How much are the tolls these days? Thanks for your help!

Answer:
I would suggest you to go for train as it will be lot cheaper than Amtrak, but if you don't find any suitable train then go for Amtrak. After a long cool vacation you don't want to drive in traffic.

in manhattan, new york going to newark, new jersey what do you take in roads do you take in a car. and train.?
Question:
i know driving you have to pass the bridge i don't know which one though, and where do you go after that. and from times square, what subway train do you take to get to newark, i know you have to go to penn station.

Answer:
I'm not sure what part of NJ you want to go to but here are 3 options: Follow the Westside highway in Manhattan (12th Ave) up to the George Washington Bridge and go across it and you are in NJ. (more towards Paramus areas) or Go to 42nd Street, head west until you come to the Holland Tunnel. (heading more towards Jersey City and Newark areas) or go to lower Manhattan (Dyer Ave) and take the Lincoln Tunnel (Weehawken area) I'm assuming you are trying to get to Newark so via train you have a few options: Go to Penn Station and take a North East Corridor train to Newark Penn Station (they run ALL the time!). If you are trying to get to Broad Street Station in Newark, take the Midtown Direct train. for more info go to http://www.njtransit.com You could also take a PATH train from 33rd and 6th in Manhattan to Newark OR PATH from the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. If you would like to take a bus, go to Port Authority on 42nd and 8th Ave and take the 108 bus! Hope this helps!

New job at Newark Int Airport, moving to get closer to it, I need suggestions. Plz read details?
Question:
I have a new job working at the Airport, I currently live in Union city and its a pain and rather expensive to get to work (note: I have no car). I'm thinking of moving closer when my lease ends soon. Anyone know of a neighborhood in Newark (or just outside of) thats safe with good public transport to the airport. Any advice will be appreciated.

Answer:
Ironbound. If you are close to the St. James Hospital, that is good in my opinion. The NJT 62 and that new GO28 bus should get you back and forth.
