How hard is the hurricane going to be in jersey city ?
Question:
I live near lincoln park, but i will just stay in the house. Can someone tell me which category it will be when it reach jersey city and what should i do to be safe. Will just closing the windows be fine? Are houses going to be destroyed in jersey city? Is my car safe ? its parked in lincoln park . Please tell me! :( Im scared ! >.<

Answer:
Dont worry about your car right now. Worry about yourself. You need to close the windows. Houses might be destroyed. I live in Florida. So I would know, It can blow tree branches off & those tree branches can go through your window. It will likely have hail which is balls of ice in which I'm sure you know can damage your windows, car, house. The wind can blow trees down, sign, stop signs, chairs. Make sure you have your outside plants & furniture inside. It can blow off parts of your roof. & damage power lines. It will blow away. It can produce tornado's. Stay INSIDE. Do NOT go outside whatever you do.

How do you travel from jersey city to new york city?
Question:
I tried looking this up but didnt get too far. i want to park my car somewhere in jersey city and stay over night in new york. im from california so i really am clueless. anything helps. thank you

Answer:
Forget having a car at all if you're going to be spending anytime in NYC. Jersey City - take the PATH trains to Manhattan. Once you're in Manhattan, you have lots of connections via the subway, depending on where you want to go. Alternatively, you can take a NJ transit bus to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there there are also subway connections to other parts of Manhattan and beyond.

How long is the morning commute by car from Jersey City to Princeton around 8am?

Answer:
Well, according to this link, it says an hour. http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&do=nw&r mm=1&un=m&cl=EN&qq=1ADqpk24ofCS6wYUx23W2TQ73VHdIsGbVKsv%252bvBrYb 0sxrOFxPW7mwIz5Z30Tbosk77SIjagl1gbx2Z90BVXG3CyQHXYOa3XwgdX3brEEVe G2JbWtcJA%252bw%253d%253d&ct=NA&r=f&rsres=1&1y=US&1ffi=&1l=&1g=&1 pl=&1v=&1n=&1pn=&1a=&1c=jersey+city&1s=nj&1z=&panelbtn=1&2y=US&2f fi=&2l=&2g=&2pl=&2v=&2n=&2pn=&2a=&2c=princeton&2s=nj&2z= But, since you are travelling during rush hour, I would add another 20 minutes to half hour onto that. Plus, you will most likely be going against traffic, since most people will be heading to NYC. I'm not sure how much traffic goes into Princeton in the morning.

Jersey city - need car or use public transport?
Question:
I am moving to the Jersey city area; somewhere in an area bounded to the south by the New Jersey city university, to the north by Hoboken, to the East by Journal Square, and to the West by Newport. My question is related to transport. Do I need a car if I live in the Jersey city area mentioned above? I usually go to NYC for work on weekdays, and do some grocery shopping on weekends. Is the public transport there good enough to support my needs, or will I need a car? If I need a car, I hope you can expand your answers on parking options. I am deciding if I should sell my car now.

Answer:
If you already have the car, hold onto it. Parking is tough but not impossible and sometimes you need to move it for a few hours. You probably dont NEED a car but its usefull in this area.

How far is Jersey City from NYC?
Question:
I have not yet decided whether I will be living in Manhattan or Brooklyn. It looks like I will be working in Jersey City (financial district). How is the commute from Manahattan and Brooklyn to Jersey City? I should not have a car to make this commute, right?? My boyfriend, whom I live with, is going to school in Brooklyn

Answer:
I gotta agree with all of the answers saying that you should consider living in Jersey City (if you can afford a Manhattan or downtown Brooklyn, then you can easily swing the Newport section...many high rise apartments by the river). Plus you won't get "double taxed" for working in New Jersey and living in New York. Nevertheless...it's a 10 minute PATH train ride from World Trade Center to Exchange Place (1st stop in Jersey City) and you won't need a car to do it.
