How far away is South Hackensack to Okemos?
Question:
How many hours away is it from South Hackensack, New Jersey to Okemos, MI by car? Thanks!

Answer:
about 670 miles and driving time is under 11 hours, depending on speed and stops made. I used to be able to make it in under 10 hours, but I rarely stopped while driving.

Do you need a car in New Jersey or can you take the taxi or bus?
Question:
Are there a lot of taxis and subways and trains in New Jersey? Area wise I'm asking about the Northeastern part of NJ Newark, Teaneck, Hackensack area.

Answer:
Mass transit in NJ is nothing like the big city like New York where there are always buses, cabs, subways, and trains moving. Of course it depends how far you go on a day-to-day basis. But I would definitely recommend having a car, even if it is a very cheap car. Having the option to drive or not in NJ is better than being reliant on public transportation.

How long will it take?
Question:
to get to Hackensack New jersey, to the ny border, by car? and does anyone know some good best western hotels in new jersey but still near new york? ty.

Answer:
If you jumpon the Garden State Parkway, you can make it in about 20 minutes. As for a Best Western, try the one over in Ramsey about 20 minutes away also (201) 327-6700. Continue up 17 a few miles and you'll be in NY.

Has NJ ever punished a dirty cop for giving bogus tickets and when?
Question:
A Hackensack police officer blocked the exit with his lights blaring with a car stopped in front of him and then looked at the hundred or so people changing lanes and issues tickets to only out of state plates. Of course they would change lanes to leave room for emergency medical and road side assistance. Corrupt? you betcha. Which politicians in Hackensack or New Jersey oppose dirty cops giving bogus tickets.

Answer:
You spelled your name wrong. It is spelled WHINING not WHIRLING There is no "R" in WHINING.

Do you think Mayor Bloomberg should beef up his security?
Question:
NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's car was stolen on Wednesday and his assistant was punched in the face during the carjacking, police said. Bloomberg was not in the 2001 Lexus, which was stolen while the aide was running an errand in Hackensack, New Jersey, local police said. About 9 a.m., a woman approached the window of the car and asked Bloomberg's employee for money, Hackensack police said. When he refused, a man opened the car door and began to argue, they said. "He punches the driver in the face. She reaches into the car and starts grabbing at the driver and at some point ... they wrestle (the driver) out of the car," a Hackensack police spokesman said. The car was found about two hours later, abandoned by the side of a road in Fair Lawn, N.J. Police said they were still searching for the two suspects. Police said the employee, who helps look after Bloomberg's personal business, was not seriously injured. Police declined to give his identity but said he was 62 years old.

Answer:
Note that Bloomberg was nowhere near this car when this happened, and my morning paper reported one of the criminals has been caught. Infact, Bloomberg is accompanied by a security detail at all times, and at public events it is enlarged. He even had a couple of security types hanging in the background when I had lunch with him several years ago.

The state I live in has a bridge which has a drain pipe that pollutes the hackensackriver with snow salt. law?
Question:
The State of New Jersey operates a bridge which carries cars. It is above the Hackensack River and it has a drain pipe underneath the bridge, which disposes water into the river and also when it snows, the snow salt used to clear up snow also is disposed into the waterway and its a polluant. Is this illegal? ALL OF THE CHEMICALS FROM SNOW SALT TO MELT THE SNOW JUST FALLS INTO THE RIVER CAUSE OF THE PIPES THAT HANG FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE BRIDGE. THAT'S WRONG. IS THIS ILLEGAL?

Answer:
That would not be a violation as the salt is a natural occurring substance and the small amount would be dissipated as soon as it hit the water.}{

If a policeman in Harackensack NJ has an exit blocked lights on with car stopped in front which would you know?
Question:
an arrest may be in progress in the exit a car may have been broken down on the exit a driver may be in need of medical help a pedestrian may be in need of pedestrian help so a hundred or more cars go arund the poice car and he scans the plates for out of state drivers and tickets them for changin lanes. How would they know to stay in the lane or change the lane in New Jersey accourding to the rules of greatter hackensack Is the cop justified in picking out out of state drivers in that instance and ticketing them for changin lanes. Lots of police seem to defend him but i;m having trouble understanding why New Jersey works this way I cant even read how it is Officer number 158 Charles something Stopped in Paramus Hackensack courts Not sure who to complain to The procecutor Mark and Judge Tracy dont let you talk about the details unless you go to trial which is expensive and time consuming. Welcome to NJ

Answer:
No the cop isn't justified to only stop out of State drivers, but welcome to the real World. However if they had the exit blocked then I'd not get on the exit. As to changing lanes if you mean go to the outside lane I'd fight that ticket with every ounce of my being. I'd argue I was doing it for the COP'S SAFETY. If I see a car broke down on the side of the road I will try to switch to the outside lane just the same as anyone else on the inside. I am trying to give them room and don't see what is illegal about that.
