Moving To Concord, New Hampshire- Car help?
Question:
I'm relocating from Georgia to Concord, New Hampshire around the 1st of January. I've recently just purchased a vehicle here in Georgia. I haven't registered the vehicle in Georgia, as this takes 30 days and I'm leaving in 10. Once I get to Concord, I want to register my vehicle as soon as possible. What are the steps that I need to take in order to register the car and what paperwork do I need? I realize that this might be a little complicated since my vehicle isn't currently registered...any help would be appreciated. Thanks Matt

Answer:
You may have to give them a call and find out. This is all I could find on their website and it says it should already be registered out of state: I recently moved to NH. How can I register my vehicle? If the vehicle is owned by you, submit the title, along with proof of residency, to the town or city office where you reside. If the vehicle is leased, there is a lienholder or the vehicle is title exempt, submit the following to the town or city office where you reside: * The out-of-state registration. * Lease agreement, if applicable. * Lienholder’s name and address. * Proof of residency. See site below.

my car is 1977 dodge truck concord mototr home -it haselectric short can i build new electric wiring and how?
Question:
some wires are burnd and mexed causing short i am not electrician - are there charts for wiring or maps ar ready made wires for this mdel or should i take out the wires to the electrician or all the car

Answer:
One option is to visit your local auto parts junk yard and find a similar vehicle that has the same wiring you are describing. Then cut the complete cable and connector harness out of the junk yard vehicle and use it to repair your vehicle. You'll need a strong sharp pair of "diagonal" wire cutters. Take your camera with you to photograph the vehicle wiring before you cut out the cables etc. Find your local junk yards and get used parts online at http://www.junkyarddog.com http://www.car-parts.com

How much would it cost to get a replacement engine in a 99 Chrysler Concord?
Question:
I am looking for a new car. I found a car that has a broken rod or something like that. They are only asking $600 for the car. I was wondering if it would be a good buy. My neighbor also works on cars, so I might be able to get him to fix it for an even cheaper price. How much do you think this would cost?

Answer:
Just buy a car that's running without major mechanical issues. This car is a broken down p.o.s. Doing bottom end work is never cheap even when you're doing it yourself. Your neighbor isn't going to want to touch it...certainly not without getting paid at least 75% of what it costs a professional to fix. You're looking at around 1250 for a new (used) engine swap on this car and you can buy better condition cars for cheaper than the 2k you'll spend on this chrysler money pit.

Should I give her my new car?
Question:
5 years ago when me and my girl first got together she didn't even have a car and I had a 1994 Chrysler Concord. A few months later she got a 1993 Chevy Corsica. Fast forward 3+ years. She finally upgrades to a 2004 Kia Optima and I told her that since the Corsica was still running not to get rid of it because she would get nothing for trade in on it. Well, she didn't listen to me and sold it to the dealership for $50. That's all she got for a car that was running. Granted, it needed a paint job and a few things on the car didn't work that well, but the car still ran and wasn't breaking down on her. About 3 months ago I got a 2004 Dodge Stratus but I kept my Chrysler because it was still running. I told my girl that we could use the 3rd car as a back up car just in case one of ours needs to go to the shop or something like that. I'll drive it one or two days a week just to keep it running. It too needs a paint job and a little work but it's also still running and not breaking down on you. It could use an alignment and maybe a motor mount or two but other than that it's still a good car. Last week my girl called me saying that the oil light came on in her Kia so we went and bought oil to change in all three cars. That's another question I'll ask later. Since I was off this week I got up and changed the oil in the Chrysler and the Dodge and when she got home she wondered when I was gonna do her car. I told her to drive the Chrysler and I'd do her car while she was at work. She flat out told me she wasn't gonna drive that old car and why couldn't she take my new car? I told her that that was the reason I kept the car just for situations like this. She apparently feels that driving the old Chrysler is beneath her and that as my girl I shouldn't make her drive it. I should be nice enough to give her my new car if I really cared. We talked (argued) about this last night and I asked her this question. If the Dodge has to go to the shop is she gonna give me her new car to drive? She didn't answer. I even tried to cuddle with her a few minutes later and the minute I touched her she told me to get my hands off her. Was I wrong for not letting her take my new car today while I change the oil in her car? Should I have cared more about how she'd look driving the old car instead of the nice new one? Is she being petty and childish? Is it beneath her to drive the old car to work one day while I change the oil in her car and have my new car sitting there with me? Kelly, Re-read the post. I didn't offer her the new car. I told her to take the old Chrysler. She doesn't want to drive it because it's old.

Answer:
I think she should be grateful for you offering her the new car; a few years ago she didn't even have one.

Why am I being downed for having 2 cars?
Question:
I posted a forum on another board about me and my girl. I have two cars. One that's paid for and one I just got a few months ago. I kept my older car because it still ran and I wanted to have a back up car just in case either my car or my girl's car had to go to the shop. My girl wanted me to change the oil in her car and since I was off today I told her to take the older car to work so I could work on her car. She didn't want to drive my older car because it doesn't look that well. It's a 1994 Chyrsler Concord that still looks good but has a few dents and dings on it and is high on milage. BUT the car still runs and runs well. My girl didn't want to drive it. She thought I should give her my newer car that I just got 3 months ago. In hearing that several people on the other board thought it was wrong of me to be paying insurance on 2 cars for no reason now that I have a more reliable car. If I want to keep driving the old car on the road I have to carry liability insurance on it. That's like saying a guy who goes out and buys a brand new Escalade or Lexus is showing off when a Ford Focus would do. Am I wrong for keeping my old car that's still running? Am I wrong for paying insurance on a second car that I still drive? Should I park the old car and drop the insurance because others think that's waisting money? (Sarcasm, no I'm not dropping the insurance on a car I'm still driving.) Should my girl have taken the older car instead of making an issue of me giving her my new one?

Answer:
No your not wrong. Your smart really. Car problem come up all the time, an accident can come from no where and put your car in the shop. In stead of having to pay for a rental you have the older car there to jump in. I say good job on the forethought. I hate you for being able to afford it, but that's a different topic. There is no way in hell, I'd let someone drive my new car. Even a girlfriend. Not happening. She wants you to work on her car, but doesn't want to settle for your old car for a day, because it has a few dings in it? She spoiled and completely unreasonable.

If I'm going to change my wheels on my new car, will it void the warranty?
Question:
I got a brand new 2008 Camry and i only got hub cap wheels. The car is 90% ok for me except for the wheels. Now to make it a 100% sleek, I want to change the wheels into an alloy one. And I am planning to buy it from third-party brand, not in Toyota. So, my question is, will it void my warranty for changing my wheels? Thank you so much for your help. PS: Can you give me a shop where I can go for wheels here in Concord/Pittsburg/Antioch, CA?

Answer:
You wont void your warranty as long as you dont put anything stupid on there, like 18's or 22's. Keep your new wheels as close as to stock and your warranty will be fine.

How does your transmission pan get a leak?
Question:
I have a 2002 Chrysler Concord and I have had 3 transmission pan leaks since I bought this car. I bought it brand new. What exactly is the transmission pan and what does it do? How much, on average, is it suppose to cost to repair the leak? Sometimes I feel like I'm getting robbed by the mechanic because 1) I'm a woman and 2) I know nothing about cars. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:
the transmission pan is located on the bottom of your transmission. it holds your fluid and the filter.the cost of repair varies but to me it sounds like your getting hosed.if it was fixed once and done right it shouldn't leak again for a long time.unless the repair shop stripped out a bolt hole when the repaired the leak.or if they overtighten the bolts the couldve made the pan gasket leak.find a reputable repair shop that a friend or family member has used.and have it checked out.the only other cause would be a hole has rusted through the pan in which case it should be replaced. but if they replace the pan they will need to replace the gasket and unless youve had it done replace the filter as well.oh yeah they will replace the fluid also. hope this helps.ive changed filters and pan gaskets before they arent that hard but sometimes the parts can be costly.

1994 Chrysler Concord - starting and stalling issues - what could be the problem?
Question:
So here is the entire low down on the car issues... 1994 Chrysler Concord, 3.3L engine, over 250,000 miles. Just recently the car was bucking and backfiring so I checked the codes with the ignition key and the O2 sensor was bad. The car was also in dire need of a tune up, so along with replacing the O2 sensor, the spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, oil filter and oil were replaced at a small town car repair garage. I drove my car home ( 12 miles ) and it ran perfectly fine, showing none of the problems it had before. So, a few hours later, I get in the car to leave home, start it up and when it starts, it smells like a rich mix of gas and exhaust and it's running a bit rough. I try to drive away and the car stalls. Try to start it up again and nothing. It will turn over, but it won't actually start the engine. If I put my foot on the gas and press it flat to the floor it will start, but as soon as I let off of the gas pedal, it will stall out again. Try to restart the car and the whole cycle starts all over. If I let it sit for awhile ( more than a few hours ) it will start again no problem, but again, if I try to drive away, it will stall and not want to restart without smashing the gas pedal to the floor. So, does anyone have any valid suggestions as to what may be causing this problem? The starter and alternator were checked and they are fine. I just put a brand new battery in the car the day I brought it back from the shop and I checked the fuel pressure via the valve on the fuel rail and it is fine. There are no codes showing up with the ignition key either. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Answer:
Sounds like its flooded when you hold the gas to the floor while cranking it puts it in a clear flood mode where it does not inject any fuel while cranking so it can burn out all the fuel left in the cumbustion chamber, try doing this a few times to get it all out then see if it runs good again after that.
