Hi, We are planning to visit Las Vegas On September and plan to stay at El Cortez hotel in downtown Las vegas. What are my available options to go to Ethel M Choclate factory in Henderson by using Public transit,Shuttle or Cab.I am not planning to rent a car. Any suggestions for cheaper options ?

This is the CAT/Deuce web site http://www.rtcsnv.com The best way to go would be to take the Deuce from the DTC(Downtown Transportaion Center) or you can catch the Deuce at the intersection of LV Blvd S & Fremont. All the way out to the SSTT(South Strip Transfer Terminal) - Transfer to the #212 W Sunset, this bus will take you right to the Ethel M Chocalate Factory & Botanical Gardens Hint- walk the extra 2 blocks over to the DTC, go to the upper level on the Deuce, take the front seats if you can get them. Cost - $5 for a 24hr pass Just for your info the El Cortez does have a free shuttle, to and from McCarran. It's not a 24hr a day shuttle and you need to let the front desk know that you need a ride. I would let them know the day before, when you will be arriving. When I was staying there in June the shuttle was running every 2 hours on the even hour from the EC to McCarran 1-800-634-6703 1-702-385-5200 Or you can catch the CAT bus from McCarran to downtown, both the #108 Paradise & #109 Maryland Pkwy North bus run to downtown from the airport. You can ride the bus if you travel fairly light(carry on luggage only). The bus stop at McCarran is located at "Ground Level Transportation 0". Cost - $1.25 exact change required ~Jack~

The reason I'm asking is because I will be moving there picerne blvd. to be exact and will me without my car for about a week. Am I going to be hoofing it? Or are there some buses?

I used the public transportation system my first 2 years here. This is one of the smallest cities I've lived in and the public transportation shows it. a typical 20 minute drive, takes about 2 hours. So plan accordingly. Horrible system I hated it! Your week will suck but once you get your car back and learn the streets , it's pretty easy to get anywhere in Vegas, henderson or summerlin under 40 minutes.

I REALLY wouldn't recommend you do this... God knows who's address you'll receive, but it probably won't be one for Ford Credit. If all else fails, call the dealership, and ask him, but I really wouldn't recommend trusting an anonymous helplist for the proper address.

Need help in Henderson Nevada with fighting a 'nuisance' eviction, please?

My family moved into a home 3 yrs ago under an agreement that we would pay $5000 and would stay until the home foreclosed. Owner showed up and asked us to allow realtors in on 1 hr notice to short sell the home. She inspected the property, had no complaints...we agreed. After 1 week, she had no offers, so we drained the pool at her request, as she believed it was the cause. After two more weeks of more than 40 visits from realtors, with still no offers, she tells us we have 12 days to move. She feels the there is too much activity in the home. We are a family of 7 adults and five grandkids...oldest being 5. She says we are a nuisance, and so have court next week. We had no complaints til that day. We have found a home, but can't move in til the first. Any chance if the judge allows the eviction that we might be granted a motion to stay until 4-1? Otherwise we will be living with these kids in 3 cars til then. Thanks for any help you can offer!!

Check to see what the laws in Nevada are for your sister's age. Alot of states you can get a permit to work many hours a week in the fast food industry. If she doesn't want to do that she could look at cleaning houses for some elderly, dog walk, yard work...just use your imagination. If she wanted to make a little more money being a busser in a restaurant would be good because she would make tips everyday from the servers that she took care of. Good luck to you and your sister. She or he will basically be entrusted to partially assist him getting dressed in the morning and undress in the evening, help him get up when he seldom falls., cook, serve him as needed, drive him to his destinanions, help him get out the car and into the weelchair and put the wheelchair back in the car. He sould qualify for medicaid, I think they pay $300 a month and I pay the rest to find a caretaker. But aproximatly how much is a profesional Companion or Health Aid for him? Secondly, In case the care taker is ill or out for what ever reason includind day off, can he get an IMEDIATE fill in untill the care taker is back or a replacement is found? The fee should cover him 24/7, don't forget he will get medicaid. e will be moving either to Miami or Henderson Nevada.

To Live Well, or at least well by my standards, your going to need to be making at least 60k a year. After taxes and after rent, electric, food, cable, internet plus the stuff you mentioned, even at 60k things might get tight. Plus if you have teens they are going to need vehicles. The expense list goes on and on, just really sit down and figure out what you'll be bringing home and what your bills are. If I was in your position I'd want to be making around 80k (including your wife) to be "well-off"
