Camping in Lincoln, Nebraska?
Question:
We live in Utah and my parents live in Georgia. We have decided to meet halfway to exchange cars in Lincoln, NE. We are planning on camping for a night, but its always hard to find a good place when you've never been there. I'd like to do some camping at a state park or something, we're just bringing tents. I'm trying to avoid a place with RV's or cabins. Any ideas will help. Thanks!

Answer:
I'm originally from Lincoln, and I'd try Memphis or Branched Oak. They are both a little outside of Lincoln, and Memphis is pretty small. Both may have some RVs, but nothing like Mahoney State Park would have. Good Luck!!

Neon lights in Lincoln nebraska?
Question:
I was jsut wondering if anyone knew if neon lights on the underside of a car are legal in Lincoln Nebraska, cause i am going to school there next year and have neon lights on my car tht i dont want to take off

Answer:
Nebraska Nebraska lighting laws as they apply to neon are very simple: 1. No red or green lights visible from directly in front of the vehicle. 60-6229 ** This is because some drivers might confuse the red or green as a signal from a traffic light, which could cause crashes 2. No color of light other than red ON the rear of the vehicle (except for directional signals, which may be red, yellow or amber). 60-6230 (2) ** Because if the signal lights were blue or purple, or any other color, other drivers might not realize it is a signal and may ignore it, which is hazardous 3. No flashing or rotating lights, except as specifically authorized for emergency vehicles, school buses, snow plows, etc. 60-6230 (1) ** So you cannot trick people or pretend to be an authority figure (like a cop), or speed But that's all. So you can have any color under your car as long as it is NOT red or green, as long as they don't flash, and as long as you do not use them as directional signals.

where can i find a lift kit for a 87 lincoln mark VII?
Question:
my poor car needs help i'm looking for a lift kit or a compressor in lincoln or omaha, nebraska or any location in nebraska. if anyone out there can help me please let me know. thanks so much.

Answer:
Your best bet is to call you local Lincoln dealership they have the tools and experience to diagnose the problem as it could be one of several things, broken compressor, leaking suspension air bags, the compressor relay, the air lines, the level sensor, etc.... So rather than throw parts at it and waste money you would probably want to get it looked at.

how do you set the speed limiter higher on a 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII?
Question:
1994 Lincoln Mark VIII just got the car great except for the cutoff which also limits the revs, compromising the acceleration. i know its illegal to mess with in a state that has emmissions control, thats whats good about nebraska we've never heard of it how do i set the rev limit and speed cutoff higher without taking the whole governor system off itself?

Answer:
it doesnt have a governor system. those changes have to be made through the computer with a tuner

Do you think it is wrong that the University of Nebraska at Lincoln does this?
Question:
UNL charges its students between $180 and about $350 per semester depending on the permit type ($480 to $924 for a full year) yet makes students pay an additional fee on game days, just to park in the same parking lot that they ALREADY PAID FOR at the beginning of the year. That means if your car is already parked in the lot and you want to get groceries, go to work, etc. you have to PAY to come back. If you're not a football fan you have little warning that this will happen. You don't have the money on you and you're in a hurry? Tough. It's barricaded off and people who never even went to college are sitting around on their butts collecting money from you. Yup. People who want to go see a FOOTBALL game get to park in the lot that you paid a ton of money to park your own car in. I'm sorry but college students need the convenience of a parking lot because this can really mess up a person's schedule. Sometimes games are on Fridays so if you want to park within a five block radius of your class, you have to shell out even more money or be late to class. Please tell me you agree this is wrong.

Answer:
I agree. Universities have become adept at nickel-and-diming students and this sounds like par for the course. If I'm not mistaken, on game days, the stadium and its immediate environs would rank as Nebraska's third largest city...obviously making parking an issue. It is pretty cold-blooded of them to capitalize on that in this way, but not surprising. Then again, if they didn't do this, enterprising students would almost certainly figure out some way to make money off of it themselves (by "loaning" permits for a fee). Sorry about your predicament. Stay off-campus on game days or else leave your car safe among the hoopla. Curse the fans from a distance and take some solace that things will be different in the Spring.

Where can a 16 year old work?
Question:
I live in Lincoln, Nebraska. I'm 16, will be 17 in a few months. I currently work at a daycare until school starts, but i need to get another job so i can pay for a car. I just applied at gallop. I don't wanna work at a fast food place. Maybe a restaurant, or a clothing store. Nothing like target or walmart.

Answer:
I am 16 years old as well...what i do is i open up account on the google adsense. In order for you to participate you need to have a blog or website. i have a blog and i attached the link please take a look at it. If you can see the ads on my website, every time someone click on that i get paid 1 euro or equivalent. It doesn't disturb my school study and don't take a lot of time why don't you try. FYI: I use my dad's name as the payee name.

Need ideas for activities in the car for a 15-month old.?
Question:
My parents, my son, and I are driving to Lincoln, Nebraska on New Year's weekend to visit my brother and his family for christmas. I will be at least a 6 hour drive. Now, for the most part my son is an angel in the car. And we will probably stop a couple times. But are there any activities (besides singingsongs!) that will entertain a toddler in the car? I have a leappad, problem is I get carsick if I read in the car! So that won't work. Eating is already in the plans! And we went to the Children's Museum last winter! It was awesome! Of course, my son was too young to enjoy it, but he won't be this year. I think we are planning on going and I'm looking forward to it.

Answer:
In the car . . . read books, do finger rhymes, eat (that was my kid's favorite), Leap Pad (I think it's totally worth the money) While in Lincoln, go to the Children's museum. It is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!! I live an hour away and we love to go. It will blow you away.

what are requirements for flying with an infant?
Question:
Can they be held, or are they required to be strapped into a car seat, is a diaper bag considered a carry on? what about the stroller? The infant in question is one month old Also, I know that our ears tend to "pop" while in flight, will the infants also? Is that dangerous for such a young baby?....The trip is from Sacramento California to Lincoln Nebraska

Answer:
it depends on which airline you fly with. You can travel with the infant on your lap, or you could just buy a seat and place the baby in a car seat (NO BOOSTERS), now some airlines are flexible.. If the flight is not full they might just give you the seat for the baby free of charge at the airline's discretion, and same with the diaper bag. The baby can be taken in the stroller all the way to the airplane door, there, an airlines employe will tag it and take it down with the rest of luggage. When you arrive at ur destination, they should bring it up to you, it takes a few minutes, so you might wanna wait in the jetway for them 2 bring it up to u. As far as the pressurization, just feed the baby, especially during take off until u reach ur cruising altitud, and on final descend. Have a safe trip!
